“This holiday cottage is extra special.”

It has everything you could need and more. Lovely place to stay and made welcome by the owners. The bed was a dream and hot tub and log burner really made a wintery stay extra cosy.

The property

Combining luxury and informality, this former coach house is a beautiful romantic retreat immersed in the peace of wooded countryside.

A place for glorious R&R and the chance to feel cosseted in a tranquil setting with sublime views, boutique standard accommodation, a cosy wood burner and a hot tub screened from view. Woodfield Coach House is located off the beaten track, in the rustic hamlet of Merrymeet near Liskeard.

Ideally placed for exploring the coasts and moorlands of both Cornwall and Devon, it offers a varied and memorable holiday experience.

A dream venue for walkers, access to the south west coast path, three miles of sandy beaches and surfing at Whitsand Bay, Downderry and Seaton a 20 minute drive away.

Follow the coast to explore the charming fishing ports of Polperro and Looe and the exclusive harbour town of Fowey with its waterfront restaurants, boutique shops and art galleries.

For a complete contrast head for Cornwall's dramatic north coast and visitor hotspots at Padstow and Watergate Bay with their celebrity eateries or the startling beautiful and unique landscapes at Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor National Park.

Closer to home is the National Trust owned Cotehele, a fascinating Tudor house with collections, gardens, quay and estate. Approached by an unmade track (which may not be suitable for very low slung cars), which also serves the owner's neighbouring residence, Woodfield Coach House is a stunning detached home with a garden at the front and another at the rear with a patio for barbecues and alfresco meals.

Inside, discover excellence in interior design, rustic charm, supreme comfort and simple elegance.

A wood burning stove, plump sofa, books, oak furniture and bold artwork furnish a spacious sitting/dining room and a warming flame-fronted wood-pellet boiler is an attractive focal point in the kitchen.

Take a post ramble soak in the hot tub or an invigorating shower in one of two bathrooms before retiring to sumptuous bedrooms.

The master bedroom has a strong romantic presence with a super king size bed dressed with crisp cotton bed linens, set beneath a dramatic gable window which allows natural light to flood in.

For flexibility, a second spacious bedroom is furnished with a zip and link bed, which can be presented as a twin beds or a super king size bed on request.

Newly renovated with couples and families in mind, Woodfield Coach House is seriously special.
