The Loft

2nd time we've stayed here.

Love accommodation. Shower doesn't get very hot and not very powerful. Some signs of damp outside shower by back door in bedroom. Outside patio needs tidying up. Otherwise great place to stay.

Really great location and was even better than we expected from the listing.

The bed and sofa were very comfortable, and everything worked as expected, with a very easy check-in, and the ability to check in a little early was very welcome. The owner responded very quickly to any messages, and the house is very well equipped with everything needed for a short or longer stay, provided you don't need to do laundry. The property is an upside-down duplex house, and this is great because in warmer weather, the bedroom downstairs stays really cool. The only negative feedback is that the decking needs a thorough cleaning for use in the summer.

Had a great week at the Loft and would definitely stay again.

The view and proximity to everything in Porthleven was perfect. If I had one little gripe and it’s only my opinion it could do with a new comfy sofa, my opinion not my wife’s she thought it was fine

It's been our third visit the loft.

3 times over the last 3 yesrs. Although we love it. The position the general feel of the accommodation etc but this visit although cleanliness standard is good their is noticeable wear and tear of the property that we now feels attention and has questioned if we would book again. Living room rug very dirty on one side. So bad I didn't like seeing it so turned the dirty part around and covered with coffee table. Arks of sofa worn/dirty. Stair carpet very dirty( black marks) laminate very worn( can live with it but just feel my not update) mold present behind television around door hinges living room and bedroom external hinges. Dirty window sill in bathroom. Points to consider one set of towels with no washing or drying facilties. We only stay during the winter but over 4 years since we first visited the area still looks neglated . A little spruce up is still needed and outside the front door mud pile up( maybe councils issue) but would only take a shovel and brush 10 mins to tidy it up each week to stop walking in unnecessarily dirty feet when the rain mixes with the soil aling the front of the property. Just feel like these are easy fix issues that should have been addressed by now and we're surprised the above issues have not been noted at regular maintenance checks We would appreciate knowing if the issues have been rectified going forward to give us confidence in booking again next year Kind regards Stephen

An excellent retreat.

Warm and welcoming even in winter with Storm Bram!! We had an excellent time and appreciated the welcome Cornish scones jam and cream etc. An excellent base from which to tour that part of Cornwall.

We had a lovely holiday at The Loft, despite the weather.

The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. It was really close to the coastal path so we could get out with the dog for some lovely walks as soon as there was a break in the weather. It was just a short walk to the shops/harbour and we loved watching the ever changing stormy sea view from The Loft when it was too wet and windy to go out. We had a great meal at The Ship Inn one evening and the take away Fish and Chips was excellent, too. Thankyou for a lovely break.

Great place to stay in Porthleven.

The bed was so comfortable, parking was fine on the road and the view was better than the photos. The stairs are steep and narrow as in the Sykes description but not a problem for us. Hope to come back in the future.

Very comfortable and in a good location in the village.

Although intended for two people, there was more than adequate crockery and cutlery. The welcome package was appreciated after a long journey. Parking was sometimes difficult but we always managed to find a space,

A lovely little place to stay.

The stairs are a bit steep but we got used to them. It was very clean and well equipped. The bed was so comfortable! Highly recommended.

Lovely cottage in an ideal location.

Owner promptly answered my query before our stay. Cottage had everything we needed for our week’s stay. It was compact but ideal for a couple. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great week in Porthleven when staying at The Loft.

The house was very comfortable and, at only a five minute walk, was also convenient for the village centre. The welcome pack was much appreciated, and we had everything we needed in the cottage. Luckily, we were able to park outside the house - slightly easier here than in other parts of the village. We had lovely views of the sea from the upstairs window. The cottage is not only a good base for the town, but very convenient for the coastal path. The stairs are a bit steep - just be careful! We would be very happy happy to go back to The Loft.

Lovely cottage, comfortable and clean with everything you need.

Only downside was not having a change of bedding or towels during our 2 week stay. The towels especially did not dry fully and started to smell of damp by the end of the holiday.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay but although made aware of the issue with the steep stairs, the narrowness of the treads added to the problem when attempting to take goods up or down the stairs.

If a lift could be installed this would then be a perfect property. The duvet was a high tog for the heatwave conditions and there was no provision of a lighter weight one.

It’s looking a little tired, time for a makeover.

The stair gate is not fit for purpose. It’s in a very good location for all amenities and has lovely sea views. Overall a lovely little cottage base in lovely Porthleven.

Travelled all the way from Dublin ferry and road to this little gem with our little dog .

Great location . Spotlessly clean . Yeah you do have to watch you head going down stairs but not a big deal . Portleven itself is wonderful. Highly recommend 5 ⭐

Wifi instructions - out of date.

We had to use the password on the back of the router. Very steep staircase. Otherwise it was fine

The Loft is a great place to stay, very convenient location with a short stroll into town.

You can also park outside the front door. Very comfortable and relaxing with a lovely view. Nice comfy bed. We enjoyed a river walk by the Helford, and a superb cream tea at the Holy Mackerel cafe. In Porthleven good quirky vibe and food at the Mussel Shoal. We also enjoyed The Harbour View cafe, good sandwiches and simple food done really well. The pooch enjoyed a Doggie sausage and now has his very own Doggie sausage loyalty card, so we’ll just have to come back! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful property with everything we needed for our trip.

Personally, we found the stairs a little to steep but for others this may not be a problem.

We had such a lovely time!

What a great place and so well situated! We loved all the sweet touches and had the best time. Our dog Hero loved it too!

Just returned from a stay at The Loft in Porthleven.

What a find! Fantastic. It’s location is perfect, you can walk to everything Porthleven has to offer, be it restaurants, pubs, shops, cafes,sauna! Car parked right outside. The view is better than in the photos. You feel connected to the sea with the waves crashing below you. The Loft is incredibly well designed and thought out. Really contemporary and smart! Immaculate! It’s a relatively small space but feels spacious. It is very comfortable to stay in. Really cosy and doesn’t lack anything. Even comes with lovely bathrobes! We were there with our dog and it’s location is perfect. The coast path is just outside the property. Can’t recommend it enough. A perfect “bolt hole”. Jo Feb 25
