The property

With several hundred years of history behind its walls, this charming mid-terrace cottage is located in the heart of the quaint, fishing village of Mevagissey in Cornwall.

In Mevagissey the streets are lined with gift shops, craft workshops, galleries, quaint cafés and historical pubs and restaurants.

Set over three floors, Blue Crab Cottage is just a short level walk from the harbour and boasts three bedrooms sleeping six guests, ideal for a family or couples holiday to the southern coast.

Step inside this lovely dwelling and be welcomed into the open-plan living and dining room to find a great social space comprising soft seating for 6 guests and a unique church pew for social family and friends gatherings after a day at the beach, coastal walks or browsing the many quaint shops in Mevagissey.

The the wall-mounted TV also provides freeway, and you can login to your Netflix or Prime accounts for your favourite TV shows and films.

There is a dining table tucked in the corner encompassed on two sides by clever bench seating, perfect for seating everyone for a delicious home-cooked or takeaway meal.

The garden doors can be opened up during balmy evenings to let the summer breeze in while you tuck in, before heading out into the enclosed, high walled garden to continue the conversation on the decking.

The kitchen is fitted with pistachio units and hosts all you need to inspire tasty home-cooking, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and the all-important dishwasher to minimise the chores.

An understairs cupboard houses the handy washing machine and mini freezer, while heading up the staircase takes you to the first floor where you'll discover a delightful double bedroom, a bathroom and a shower room.

Freshen up on this floor before finding two further bedrooms to choose from on the second floor, with another 2 double rooms up here so you can choose the perfect bedrooms for your group.

When you're ready to get out and about, you'll find everything you need on your doorstep, with the picturesque harbour just a short, level stroll away, along with the local boutiques and convenience shops.

There are a number of pubs to choose from, including a 15th century tavern and a good range of restaurants, takeaways, cafés, including an award winning tea room and of course fish and chip shops!

Learn about the locals at the excellent Folk Museum, see the working harbour in action, or even visit The World of Model Railways Exhibition which is home to an impressive collection, whilst a quaint aquarium is housed in the old lifeboat house showcasing locally caught fish.

Take a walk up to Polkirt Hill to enjoy the sweeping views over the higgledy streets and harbour, whilst further in the distance are the golden sands of Polstreath Beach and St Austell Bay.

Embark on a journey along the South West Coast Path to come to the stunning near-white sands of Pentewan Beach, perfect for a wonderful day of sunbathing, paddling in the sea and enjoying all kinds of watersports, with hire of canoes and sailing dinghies available from the nearby holiday park.

The Pentewan Valley Trail runs along the old Pentewan railway to St Austell making a lovely afternoon ramble, whilst nearby attractions including The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Caerhays Castle, the beautifully scenic Dodman Point, The Eden Project and of course Charlestown, home of Poldark, is a stone’s throw away.

In fact many Cornish attractions in Cornwall is accessible within about 45 minutes of this stunning location.

St. Austell 5.5 miles; Truro 16 miles.

The perfect Cornish fishing village, with winding cobbled streets and a picturesque harbour full of boats. Stunning walks lead along the coast in both directions, with sandy beaches, high cliffs and hidden coves to explore. The village has an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, whilst just up the road are the Lost Gardens of Heligan. A ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey also runs daily between Easter and September. Spend some time at the Tall Ships harbour at Charlestown (7 miles) with its shipwreck museum, or among the tropical biomes of the world-famous Eden Project (11 miles). The stunning coastline, fabulous beaches and renowned gardens of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula are a short drive down the coast while Truro, with its shops, restaurants, theatre and cathedral can be reached by car in half an hour.
