“Harbour Retreat is a super cosy and stylish cottage in a beautiful location.”

I was there for my 60th birthday with my husband, our dog and a couple of friends. We stayed for a week and it really was a home from home. As other guests have noted the second stairs are steep and so the stunning attic bedroom would suit a young, active person/couple (we didn’t have a problem with the stairs but chose to sleep in the double room on the first floor so we could get downstairs quickly for our dog!) The beds are very comfy, the towels are super soft, there’s a dishwasher and everything one needs to cook with. The oven is missing a manual but we figured it out easily enough. It was a wrench to leave Mevagissey, but we’ve plans afoot to return… thank you Jo, and Mark who looks after the cottage.

The property

Set in the heart of Mevagissey where the harbour, beach, shops, pubs and restaurants are all only a few minutes easy walk away this beautifully renovated charming old cottage is ideally placed to enjoy all this magical village and thriving fishing port has to offer.

Set over three floors the cottage exudes character throughout.

Enter into the cosy yet contemporary open-plan living room with a log burner at each end, ideal for the cooler winter nights after a long walk along the adjacent coastal path or a stroll on the beach. The utility room then leads out to the enclosed courtyard. On the first floor are two of the bedrooms, a king-size and a adult bunk bedroom as well as the family shower room.

On the second floor a flight of steep stairs lead to the beautifully decorated master double bedroom to complete the accommodation.

With such a wide choice of things to do here for all the family, virtually on the doorstep you will very rarely need a car but close by are the Lost Gardens of Heligan voted one of the finest tourist attractions in the Country and well worth a visit.

Boat trips from the harbour itself are also strongly recommended.

Just one of the many pubs and restaurants close by is the oldest pub in Mevagissey, the Fountain Inn located just 25 yards away where apart from good food and fine local ales every Monday is the home to the famous Mevagissey male voice choir.

Come and listen to sea shanties and local songs for a night to remember.

With so much to do and see in the immediate vicinity this character cottage offers really comfortable accommodation in a wonderful seaside location.
