Everything you need is at hand, this is our 2nd stay here and we really enjoyed it again, central for getting around to different places.

Hosts are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them

We were returning guests as you genuinely could not ask for better hosts or a more convenient location for a couple's getaway.

Whilst the property is compact, situated behind the owners own home, it provides everything you need with complete privacy with the added bonus of off street parking and easy access to the many local attractions and beautiful beaches. Thank you to Jean and Douglas for your kindness during our stay, we wish you both all the very best.

The property was so nice I stayed in some days, due to the weather.

The hosts were lovely and very kind and helpful.

A strange layout, probably a converted garage.

Bed next to the fridge/freezer, woke me up. Could use some decent cutlery. No heating in the shower room. A large round table takes up a lot of room. No instructions for the heating radiator and timer was all awry. A great spot to be for access to many places. Should have a turnbuckle on inside of the only door instead of having to use the key.

A very enjoyable stay in the spacious studio accommodation.

We very much enjoyed sitting in the patio garden when the weather allowed and also its close proximity to Tehidy Country Park. The owners kindly left a bottle of wine in the fridge along with some fruit etc which was a kind welcome and were nearby to ask if you had any questions. Many thanks

Comfortable accommodation with everything we needed.

Particularly enjoyed relaxing in the reclining easy chairs after a days walking. Secure area for our spaniel. Friendly hosts Jean and Douglas provide a bottle of wine and dog treats on our arrival which was a nice gesture. This is a quiet location about a mile outside Illogan. Access to Tehidy Woods just over the road. Portreath is a short drive away as are several other beaches. Good value for money. Would definitely like to use again.

Our stay here in October was brilliant .

The Studio well equipped with everything you could have wanted. The location of the Studio was great and over the road was a golf corse and acres of woodland to explore. Lots of beautiful beaches near by and close to all amenities. Jean and Douglas were perfect hosts and the property was dog friendly what more could you want.

We really enjoyed our stay here , very comfortable,clean and secure, we would recommend this to all our friends.

Cannot fault the hosts Doug and his wife, a very welcoming and helpful couple.

There were some cleanliness issues in the property which we raised with the owners. They will be having a word with their cleaner. We based our decision to book this property on the description given and after studying the numerous reviews given by previous visitors. The property is located in the owners back garden and offers a fairly comprehensively equipped place to stay. The property is situated adjacent to a road junction which is the source of some considerable traffic noise, detracting from the peace and quiet. One reviewer described the property as ‘an oasis of peace and tranquility’?? I couldn’t disagree more

It was a very, very good to stay there.

The owners are great, and helpfully. Our first time in England in Cornwall was a time to look back for longer time. We must come back again.... thanks for all.

Byghan Thornton was perfect for our 3 night break.

It was clean, private and comfortable. The owners were very friendly but not intrusive as the property was on their land behind their house but it was very well designed to be completely private. It was well designed and well equipt. Would definitely recommend to a couple and will definitely return.

We loved our 7 days here, and Jean & Doug were lovely hosts.

We received a friendly welcome and shown around the appartment, it had had all the amenities we required.

We used it as a base to explore Cornwall from. There are lovely walks through the Tehidy woods across the road from the property that you spend a few days wondering around. There is also Tehidy Golf club right on the doorstep, were you can eat and drink at the clubhouse as a non member. Portreath beach is a 5 min drive or a peaceful half hour walk along the old Mine trail. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would gladly go back again, very suitable for couples of all ages with or without a dog. The property also has safe off road parking. Shower is quite small, as a person who is 6ft 3 I had to duck while showering.

But overall it was a positive stay and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Had everything we needed, and we were able to ask the owners if we needed anything.

The studio has everything you need, whether your stay is short or a longer stay. The accommodation is well situated for getting around Cornwall. I couldn't recommend the studio enough, absolutely nothing for anyone to complain about.

Absolutely beautiful little get away.

Surrounded by beautiful scenery. Mr & Mrs Hooper were welcoming from the start and so accommodating. Would highly recommend this little hide away to everyone.

Although it is small it has everything you need and a small garden area.

Location was perfect for us (Willow my Hungarian Vizsla) as the woods are just outside the door and there are planned coastal walks you can download. Perfect for getting to all the beaches as well. We will definitely be going back!

The hosts at this property are absolutely amazing, they had provided a lot in the kitchenette, and provided cleaning supplies and even some milk for tea and coffee.

They recommended some local places to visit and I absolutely loved the suggestions when I went. Overall they made my stay in Cornwall very enjoyable and I would definitely go back again

the property is nice for a couple and it was nice to take the dog.the only thing we thought is that we were cold a we had no heating. the area is nice but the weather was horrible

Lovely, peaceful studio.

Location was really good. Jean and her husband were very welcoming and unobtrusive; there if you needed them but otherwise left you to get on with your holiday. Everything you needed was thought of, even a complimentary bottle of wine! Garden area was lovely to sit in, if it wasn't raining, not the owners fault! Would definitely recommend

Loved staying at this property.

It was very quiet and had everything you needed and more (ironing board !!!!!) haha. Lovely hosts and a complementary bottle of wine went down very easily. A central property to all fabulous locations within Cornwall. Thanks once again.

Lovely quite location for couples, out of the Hustle and bustle of the main towns but a perfect location for visiting anywhere in Cornwall, You have access to Tehidy country park on your doorstep, literally across the road, your only a two minute drive to Potreath beach which is ideal to spend the rest of your afternoon with a cocktail or fish and chips from The Atlantic beach bar and cafe and to watch the sunset after exploring.

Pool is an only a 5 minute drive where you have access to all the amenities you need, Newquay is 30/40 minutes drive and St Ives is 20/30 mins depending on traffic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owners made us feel very welcome, any information we needed wasn’t a problem at all and we knew how to contact them if we had any questions, but in all honesty we hardly saw them and the studio is set up in a way that it does feel completely private even though it’s within the grounds of their property. We will definitely be staying again.

The annex was comfortable, well presented, and clean, a nice quiet space.

It had everything it needed for cooking and living, if you need a quiet space for respite, this is it. The owners let me know they were there if I needed them but would otherwise allow privacy. They also added some nice little touches - they went above and beyond. Lovely stay, would definitely recommend.

Ideal for us, very quiet, just over a mile from Portreath beach which is lovely.

We spent a wonderful week at Byghan Thornton which gave us a peaceful location in a comfortable studio with all the facilities we needed for our holiday.

The owners Jean & Douglas were very welcoming and friendly but gave us complete privacy. This was a perfect spot from which to walk the SWCP using local bus services, enabling us to complete linear walks. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to be able to return again in the future.

The owners were very pleasant and polite and we had all the privacy we needed during our stay. The outdoor area is a wonderful sun trap. Inside is much bigger than we anticipated, with a double bed, 2 reclining chairs, storage areas, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. Given the opportunity we’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Lovely surprise little bits in room as a welcome. Lovely friendly and helpful couple as owners next door. Didn’t see much but were there if needed to ask anything. Room was perfect for us , couple with a dog. Outside seating area really is a great little sun trap and enclosed for the dog. We traveled out most days but room not that far from anywhere, which we went to St Ives , Penzance , Lands End , Newquay , Padstow and more in between!! Highly recommended place to stay….

A lovely little retreat for a solo visitor or couple.

The owners are very accommodating and also respectful of your privacy. Comfortable and well-equipped; and with beautiful Cornish locations on your door step. Highly recommended!

Stayed at this lovely studio on holiday with my daughter the studio is beautiful and very clean the owners are a lovely couple gave us our privacy but were there if we needed anything at all .

This studio is a great base to explore this part of Cornwall everywhere within easy reach hopefully will stay here on our next visit to Cornwall.

We had a delightful stay in this studio - perfect for us and our dog.

We found the area well placed for getting out and around to explore by rail or car but also enough to do locally on days we didn’t drive out. Well equipped had everything we needed except a corkscrew which I’m sure would have been available had we asked the owners who were lovely.

We loved this place, very private and everything you could want.

Location is a brilliant base so near to the local beach and amenities. Precook the local pub as it’s very busy but would recommend. Also recommend the local golf club for food they were very welcoming. All in all brilliant, lovely welcoming hosts and would thoroughly recommend

Wonderful hosts!

The apartment is nice looking, clean and has everything you need for a staycation! Ideal for a couple and perfect location, only minutes to the local beach and not far to travel to see the rest of the beautiful places in Cornwall.

My son (8) and I stayed for a week at the start of the summer holidays and we had a brilliant time.

The hosts were welcoming and responsive when we needed them, and gave us complete privacy for the rest of the time. The accommodation is in a lovely quiet spot and really central to access south, west and east coast attractions. The nearby beach (portreath) is beautiful and while you will want to drive rather than walk the 1 mile distance because the road has no pavements (& it would be a long slog home) we managed to get free road parking in a hot beachy day by heading down around 9.30am. Other days we popped down for lunch and the beach front parking was reasonably priced and had plenty of spots (though that was on an overcast day....) We both absolutely recommend booking a stay here. Even after our long drive home we are refreshed and happy.

Everything was as described, it was clean, and the owners were very friendly and helpful.

Not obvious that the property was close to the owner’s house who were very pleasant and helpful, but we had no separate or private garden.

The really only comment was lack of privacy although we realise this is difficult as you share the owners property otherwise there were no issues!

Excellent dog walks in Tehidy Country Park. Cottage very comfortable with a lovely court yard to sit in. A great base from which to explore all that Cornwall has to offer.
