Great location and house.

Only down side is the downstairs toilet has a damp smell which can get overpowering leaky toilet in the past maybe

The booking process was straight forward and quick, with good updates via email.

I would use Sykes again. As for the property, it was a little underwhelming. The location is very good, and having parking is a real advantage for properties in Newquay. On first entry to the property we noted the floors were very sticky through the entrance hall, and then when moving into the kitchen/living area the smell coming from the downstairs toilet/drains/plumbing was very unpleasant. That definitely needs to be looked at as this was constant throughout the week and is definitely something that would put me off booking this property again. The upkeep of the property is ok, although it is looking tired in most areas and in need of a few touch ups. The outside space at the rear was a nice addition but was covered in discarded cigarettes, which was a shame and clearly been left by previous guests and not cleaned up. The outside furniture also needed a good clean. The top bedroom with on-suite bathroom was really lovely. The addition of a PS4 in the living room was a welcome addition which my son very much enjoyed. Although as stated above the property is ready for a few touch ups, in isolation it wouldn’t stop me returning as the other benefits outweigh this, however, the drain issue was almost unbearable and is what would stop me returning. As a final point, I do think a 5pm check in time is very late and seemingly zero communication as to if the property was available earlier. This is the first time this has been the case in any property I have stayed in, either in Newquay or elsewhere.

2nd stay at this town house.

Good location for centre of town and beaches. Generally clean and comfy. Lovely white bedding and towels. There is still a very damp smell in downstairs cloakroom and the en-suite shower needs attention to stop mould developing, a good clean would help but no cleaning equipment left to do this . Other than that, a good value break. For the attention of the property owner , The down pipe at the back of the house has come away from the guttering.

Comfortable house in great location, minuets from beach and town.

Nice white bedding and towels . Reasonably well equipped kitchen . Would benefit from bread/ chopping board. We used the lovely top bedroom , especially liked the dressing area and en-suite shower room. Great wardrobe but needs more hangers please. We had problems with the tv Ariel but this was repaired the very next morning . Thank you. Just a few negatives remembering this is end of season. The carpeting middle landing and front double bedroom was badly stained . Ground floor toilet smelt a bit damp . Garden needed weeding . These negatives didn’t impact our time here and wouldn’t stop us booking again. Thank you for the welcome pack .

We had a lovely relaxing break in a very comfortable, well maintained home.

From the moment we walked in I felt relaxed and ready to enjoy my break. The welcome pack was also nice touch and the location was perfect- close enough to walk to the bars and restaurants but far enough away from the noise or hustle and bustle My ONLY criticism would be the smell of damp in the downstairs loo but this didn’t spoil anything at all Thank you for allowing us the use of your beautiful holiday home

Everything we needed and the location was just fab! We wanted to have a bbq but it hadn't been cleaned and so we didn't, but that was the only thing really. So many plated and cups, we wreath told before we arrived that the downstairs toilet wasn't working but they had the plumber there and all sorted. There were 4 adults, one child and one dog and we all had the best week. The house was perfect and we didn't want to come home. Would definitely recommend and would go back. We miss it already. Stayed in this property numerous times and it never fails to disappoint us.

Ideal dog friendly house with secluded garden. Close to the beach for early morning dog walks. 10 minute walk into Newquay town centre. It’s situated in the perfect location. Can’t wait to return in September.

This is the fourth time staying here.

As always doesn’t disappoint. The house is in the perfect position to the town and beaches. There’s everything in the house that you need. You get a welcome pack with coffee, tea etc (please put a decaf option in). You can take 2 dogs with you which is perfect for us. My only negative comment is that the guttering is broke and when it rained it was very noisy pouring through.

Great location and everything we needed was in the accommodation, will look to recommend this to friends and family.

Lovely 3 storey pet friendly house with a secure garden. Close to the beach which is ideal and also pet friendly. The house is clean and has got everything you need for a holiday. The owners are on hand if you need them for anything and nothing is too much trouble. Love the house. Love Newquay. See you in September.

Downstairs wc is damp and smells.

Not the best. Other than that fine. Mattresses are a bit low budget and uncomfortable. Windows at front leaked badly. Albeit itcwas an exceptional storm.

We had a great stay at 16 Ocean Heights.

The location of the house was good and we didn't need to use the car at all during our stay. The beds were really comfy and the kitchen well equipped. Could do with a full sized dishwasher for 6 guests as we were having to put it on couple of times a day. The house was cleaned to a good standard. Areas to improve on: the wheelie bin was overflowing when we arrived and the seagulls made a right mess of it. This should have been removed before we checked in and wasn't very nice to have to deal with, but was sorted quickly when we called up the agents. There is still a slight drains smell from the downstairs toilet, but we left the extractor fan on and it was not very noticable. Certain areas needed some maintenace (paint peeling off the ceiling in en-suite shower, weeding in the back garden, rust on radiator in downstairs toilet). I would recommend this house and would stay there again as none of these things had a negative imapct on our stay. It was good value for money in a very overpriced area.

We had a wonderful week in Newquay and loved the house it was exactly what we needed after a long day at the beach.

Really relaxing,comfy sofas well equipped kitchen. We had a great time and would recommend this house to our friends Thank you for helping us have a relaxing holiday.

Excellent house to stay in.

Modern clean minimalistic but has every convenience for your stay. No issues with “Sewer smell” With any minor issues the owners were quick to respond, helpful and friendly. Trouble-free and very comfortable stay. Highly recommend. 5⭐️

Exactly what we wanted.

We read some quite negative comments in reviews about the property in advance but chose it nonetheless because of its location. However, we had no complaints and found the property excellent and very clean. We had a great stay.

Lovely property only downfall was the sewage smell / drain in the kitchen and living room was very off putting when eating meals

We had a fantastic stay.

The house was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. It is in a perfect location, with everything in strolling distance. We would definitely come back and stay again and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Newquay

This is the second time we’ve stopped in this house.

It didn’t disappoint a second time. Perfect location. It’s a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk into town. Dog friendly with a secure garden. There’s a welcome pack when you arrive with tea.coffee,milk and biscuits. We will be coming back next year. Newquay you never disappoint.

I read the reviews when I booked this property and they were good.

I then read them about two weeks before I went there were a couple of reviews stating there was a terrible smell in the house. We’ll we walked in and straight away we were greeted with a combination of damp and sewerage and air fresheners obviously trying to mask the smell. The shower leaks. The windows on the front of the building have been leaking for quite some time the windowsills are expanding due to absorbing the rain water and the carpet was wet on the front first floor bedroom and was probably contributing to the smell. The downstairs toilet stinks of sewerage. The pans in the kitchen are not fit for purpose. I was informed the week before I went that the dishwasher was broken and it would be replaced while we were there it wasn’t . So we were not able to use that facility. Very unhappy that I paid over £1000. Complained and was basically told because I didn’t report it whilst there they were not able to sort the issues so they were not going to do anything.

The property was as listed there could just have been a few improvements.

The pans were not in good condition there was no iron or ironing board the shower over the bath made the bathroom very wet and no bath mats as we had children and an older person it was slippery. We also found dog treats on the floor in the top floor bedroom so don't think there is much cleaning being done after the guests leave

House was great smelt a bit damp downstairs and was a bit disappointed on seating downstairs as sofa wise wasn’t wnwoygh room for us all to sit downstairs together a few people had to sit at the table .

In addition you can’t use both showers at the same time so slowed us down a bit but great location and cleaners were fab thank you
