    “Para Sands wonderful long beach, Lifeguards on duty, toilet, cafe and bar facilities.”

    Great property location with excellent views. House was spacious and very well equipped to a high standard. Biggest negative was the grass lawn was totally dead, looks like it had been sprayed killed, leaving an expanse of bare soil. Nowhere for children to play and meant dirt was carried on shoes into the house, fortunately we had little rain or could have been a mud bath! Minor niggles were only a small clothes horse to dry wet beachwear, no tumble dryer. No BBQ.

We are thrilled you enjoyed the spacious house, the high standard of equipment, and our excellent location near the beach. We sincerely appreciate your honesty regarding the areas where we can improve. Please rest assured that the issue with the lawn is a priority for us; due to a busy schedule of back-to-back bookings, we are currently working hard to coordinate timings to get a specialist in to lay the new lawn as soon as possible. We are also in the process of adding a BBQ for guest use, alongside installing additional outside hangers specifically for drying wet clothes and wetsuits. Regarding a tumble dryer, we unfortunately do not have the extra physical space required for a standalone unit. We did research a combined washer-dryer, but found they are prone to breaking down quickly, and we want to ensure all provided appliances remain reliable. Thank you again for helping us to improve. The property

Shearwater is an impressive coastal house resting in Praa Sands, Cornwall, only a short walk from the broad sandy beach.

With private parking for three cars, far-reaching sea views, a newly refreshed interior, super-fast fibre broadband, and a versatile layout with ground-floor bedrooms and a shower room, this is an excellent choice for families or groups of friends seeking a stylish stay near The Lizard Heritage Coast.

On arrival, the sea air and open outlook across Mount’s Bay immediately set the scene, while inside, the property reveals a bright and carefully updated interior with crisp finishes, sleek fittings, and a considered coastal feel throughout.

The kitchen/diner creates a sociable hub for the home, where light pours in across streamlined surfaces, and there is plenty of room for gathering over breakfast before heading to the shore or settling in for an evening meal after a day outdoors.

From here, an open connection leads into the sitting room, where the woodburning stove adds character and warmth when the weather turns cooler, and large windows keep the coastal backdrop in view.

Doors open directly onto the patio, giving easy access to an outdoor space made for morning coffee, sunset drinks, and time spent watching the water shift with the light.

The bedroom arrangement works especially well for a mixed-age group, with two ground-floor rooms that include a king-size and a flexible super-king-size, which can be arranged as a twin.

The larger bedroom also benefits from its own TV, a seating area, direct access to a second patio, and sea views that add something special to the space.

Upstairs, two further bedrooms each have a TV, and one is served by an en-suite shower room.

A family shower room completes the interior, while outside, the front lawn and rear terrace provide further places to sit out, dine together, and enjoy the coastal setting.

Beyond the property, Praa Sands is known for its long stretch of golden sand and rolling surf, while nearby Marazion offers access to St Michael’s Mount and striking views across the bay.

Porthleven makes an excellent day out for harbour walks and dramatic sea scenes, while the Lizard Peninsula offers rugged coves and striking cliffside scenery.

For art and culture by the coast, Tate St Ives and the Minack Theatre both make memorable additions to your itinerary.

However you spend your time in this part of Cornwall, Shearwater offers a superb setting to return to at the end of each day.

About the location

PRAA SANDS

Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles

The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers. There are supermarkets and other retail stores in Penzance (8 miles) and Helston (6 miles).
