“Lovely, well maintained and equipped cottage.”

Maybe a bit of a squeeze for more than 4 people as limited seating at the breakfast bar but there is a fold up table if needed. Beds and sofas a little soft but that’s personal preference. Has the advantage of its own parking space, much needed as parking elsewhere is not easy. Close to transport links, shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again.

The property

Idyllically positioned on the banks of the Penryn River, in Penryn, Cornwall rests this three-storey mid-terrace holiday home, 4 Summercourt.

Set moments from the glistening waters of the English Channel and the Blue Flag award-winning sands of Gyllyngvase Beach, 'Riverside' Summercourt makes an excellent base for a group of six's next Cornish adventure.

A sought-after allocated off-road parking space greets you upon arrival, making unloading your belongings and settling into your new home-from-home an easy task.

Make your way through your private front garden and over the threshold of this wonderful abode, where you can dust off your sandy toes and store your beach-going essentials in the handy hallway, away from the main living areas.

Following a day of adventure, get to work on preparing a hearty meal in the well-equipped kitchen, where a dishwasher ensures no time is wasted doing the washing up, and choose to dine at the breakfast bar or outside in the tranquil setting of your rear garden, where the flow of the River Penryn provides a magical backdrop.

Carry the conversation indoors and settle down for a quality evening with a sumptuous spot in front of the Smart TV, where you can flick on your favourite Sky channel or catch a live game with a crisp drink in hand.

As the evening draws to a close, climb the stairs to the first floor to find the family bathroom, where a tub invites you to indulge in a blissful soak.

When sleep calls, catch your luxury rest in one of the dwelling's three well-presented bedrooms; find the master bedroom on the first floor complete with Juliette balcony and en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, whilst the second floor is home to a double and a twin room.

A short walk from your doorstep will bring you into the heart of Penryn, famed as one of the oldest market towns in Cornwall, where the town's fascinating history can be discovered with a tour of Penryn Museum, whilst the wealth of pubs, restaurants and takeaways lining the high-street serve a variety of menus for those evenings when you don't fancy doing the cooking.

The popular town of Falmouth rests moments away, with its scenic marina, Blue Flag award-winning beach and exhilarating surf scene; tackle the waves with a spot of surfing, kayaking or paddleboarding at Gyllyngvase Beach, or if you'd prefer to stay on land, spend the afternoon exploring the history on display at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall or uncovering the well-preserved architecture of Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII.

Escape the hustle and bustle with a peaceful stroll through the flora and fauna of Penjerrick Garden, or the vibrant meadows at Enys Gardens, or hike to the summit of Stack Point, affording far-reaching views across the glistening waters of the coast.

With all of this and more, choose 4 Summercourt as your base to explore Cornwall.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £350.
