“The cottage is in an excellent location, really did have lots of walks on the doorstep which is what we wanted.”

Cottage was not as comfortable downstairs as we had expected and we found the downstairs to be really cold, even after spending a-lot on wood to keep the fire lit in the evenings. There was limited hot water for a bath too. Upstairs was lovely, comfy beds and as there were heaters in both bedrooms it was really warm, although 2nd bathroom was again far too cold to use. Outside space to back of the property was poor, I would not call it decking, it was just concrete and I would not sit out there ...

Outside space to back of the property was poor, I would not call it decking, it was just concrete and I would not sit out there in summer, also no lights out there (that we could find). Sadly due to it being so cold in the cottage we cut the stay short and left 24 hours early. There needs to be additional electric heater downstairs at the very least. Such a shame as we loved the local area and did sleep well as upstairs was warm and comfy, kitchen was cute and had all needed although we ate all meals out.

Thank you for your feedback – we’re sorry to hear you ended your stay early. Winter checks were carried out in December to ensure the cottage was prepared for colder weather, so we were surprised to hear this. However, we appreciate that comfort levels can vary between guests. Contact details are provided in the cottage should guests need assistance, and we encourage guests to get in touch so any issues during their stay can be resolved. The cottage is a very old stone property, which gives it much of its character but does mean it behaves a little differently from more modern buildings, particularly in colder weather. Heating is provided by storage heaters, which take time to warm up and release heat gradually. Settings can be adjusted to suit individual preferences, with instructions provided in the cottage. We do understand your comments and, as a result of your feedback, will be adding an additional heater to improve comfort. Hot water is supplied via an immersion heater, which takes time to reheat once used, especially during winter. However, we will arrange for this to be checked again to ensure it is functioning correctly. Regarding the outdoor space, it is advertised on our listing as a paved courtyard rather than decking. Due to the cottage’s position against a cliff and surrounding buildings and trees, the back garden receives limited sunlight. This is unfortunately beyond our control and we agree it’s not worth sitting out there! The back garden has been designed as a practical, secure space, particularly for guests with pets. There is a light, but it sounds like the bulb needs replacing – thank you for bringing this to our attention. For guests looking to enjoy summer sunshine and views, the front of the house gets all the sun and has a small seating area. We’re pleased to hear that you found the upstairs comfortable and the beds cosy, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. It helps us continue to improve the cottage for future guests. Property Owner

Set over two floors, this welcoming abode is suitable for a family or group of friends looking to experience this peaceful corner of Cornwall.

After a day of rambling the coastline, look forward to catching up on some TV in the sitting room, accompanied with an open fire for a calming ambiance.

Allow the designated chef to get to know the kitchen, home to a range of appliances, while the separate dining room offers a lovely setting for mealtimes.

If the weather is nice, why not head out into the courtyard with a disposable barbecue?

After toasting to a long-awaited break and tucking into supper, load up the dishwasher before catching the last of the evening sun in the peaceful front garden overlooking the valley.

As the night falls, move upstairs to find two double bedrooms; the master features a spacious en-suite bathroom with bath and walk-in shower.

When you’re ready to explore, about a 6-minute walk away lies the wonderful Pentewan beach, an adventure playground among bathers and a firm favourite among watersport enthusiasts since it is so large that it rarely gets crowded.

You can find spectacular dog-friendly beaches nearby, including Gorran Haven, Vault Beach and Par Sands.

Be sure to explore the Pentewan Valley Trail, a 4 km in land road-free path through the stunning woodland, and the scenic coastal footpath which spans in either direction over rugged cliff tops and secret coves.
