Sleeping up to eight guests across four beautifully appointed bedrooms, each room features plush beds dressed in crisp cotton linens, wool throws, and generous wardrobe space.
The open-plan kitchen and dining area is equipped with high-end appliances and a Smart TV, and opens directly onto the terrace—allowing the cook to remain part of the conversation while enjoying the view. A separate, spacious lounge offers a second Smart TV, inviting sofas, and an electric stove-effect fire, creating a warm atmosphere ideal for winter breaks. Stayed at Tamarisk Lodge from 12th - 19th September for a family holiday in Newquay.
Other family members were staying in a separate house that just happened to be a few doors away. The house is beautiful. Very bright and spacious. Beds really comfy. Extremely clean on arrival and great Wi-fi. Amazing storage areas throughout the house in hallways and rooms. We were only there for a week so didn’t really need to use these spaces other than the wardrobes. The views at the rear of the house across the Gannel were stunning. Quiet street so no disruption at night. Would I recommend this property? Most definitely. There were a couple of downfalls but it wouldn’t stop me staying again. There was a very strange smell in the living room and although I opened the doors in there quite a lot the smell was still present on the day we left. I sat in the living room for a few hours the one evening and felt like I could smell it on my clothes when I left the room. Although I can’t pinpoint the exact smell it was almost a garlic/musty smell. Was only in the living room though and couldn’t even smell it in the hallway leading into the room. The one night we did eat in rather than going out I cooked mash however after boiling the potatoes I discovered there was no masher amongst the utensils. I had to use a fork which took some doing. There are no small saucepans. I had to use quite a large pan to warm some baked beans. Glasses are in a display unit across the room in the dining area. I feel there is enough cupboard space within the kitchen area to have some basic drinking glasses to hand. I feel the master bedroom would benefit from a small tv on the wall. The views are so beautiful from this room I would have liked to have gone and chilled in that room of an evening to watch a bit of tv. Also a mirror on the dressing table would be beneficial. I was having to use the big mirror and shelf above the radiator which kind of defeated the object of having a dressing table. As stated this is just me nitpicking really. None of the above would stop me returning in the future but would make further visits that little bit more enjoyable.
We had a lovely stay and will definitely be booking again in the future.
Very spacious accommodation and beds were really comfortable
This is a wonderful house in a beautiful quiet area very near Newquay centre and Fistral beach.
It is a very comfortable and well-appointed house with the master bedroom having a spectacular view over the Gannel. The kitchen has everything you would need, and there's plenty of room for a large family to stay. Everything is very high quality and is highly recommended.
