“This is a wonderful house in a beautiful quiet area very near Newquay centre and Fistral beach.”

It is a very comfortable and well-appointed house with the master bedroom having a spectacular view over the Gannel. The kitchen has everything you would need, and there's plenty of room for a large family to stay. Everything is very high quality and is highly recommended.

The property

Newquay Tamarisk Lodge on the Gannel is a boutique-standard coastal retreat situated directly on the Gannel Estuary—a tidal inlet where the River Gannel meets the sea.

This unique location offers uninterrupted 180-degree panoramic views across the ever-changing estuary, where guests can watch the waters rise at high tide and reveal expansive sandbanks as the tide recedes.

The view is a constant source of wonder throughout your stay. At high tide, the estuary becomes a playground for paddleboarding, kayaking, and foil boarding.

When the tide is low, it transforms into a scenic route for walks to Crantock Beach, or even horse riding along the sandbanks—all accessible just steps from the garden gate.

The property’s direct access to the water is a standout feature that truly enhances the experience. The enclosed, river-facing garden is perfect for alfresco breakfasts, relaxed lunches, or evening barbecues with the estuary as your backdrop.

Inside, the lodge has been tastefully styled by its owners to a boutique finish, with hand-picked furnishings and thoughtful design throughout.

Sleeping up to eight guests across four beautifully appointed bedrooms, each room features plush beds dressed in crisp cotton linens, wool throws, and generous wardrobe space. The open-plan kitchen and dining area is equipped with high-end appliances and a Smart TV, and opens directly onto the terrace—allowing the cook to remain part of the conversation while enjoying the view.

A separate, spacious lounge offers a second Smart TV, inviting sofas, and an electric stove-effect fire, creating a warm atmosphere ideal for winter breaks.

Guests are welcome to log in to their own Netflix or Amazon Prime accounts for a personalised entertainment experience. For wet weather days, the indoor garage includes a multi-games table with air hockey and billiards—perfect for keeping everyone entertained.

The lodge is ideally located to explore Cornwall’s stunning coastline, with nearby surfing beaches including Fistral, Watergate Bay, Towan, and Great Western.

Guests can also enjoy coasteering, sea safaris, horse riding, and golf at Newquay Golf Course.

For a slower pace, unwind at local spas or explore the tranquil Trenance Gardens and Boating Lake. Whether you're chasing waves, exploring the coast, or simply relaxing by the water, Newquay Tamarisk Lodge on the Gannel offers a luxurious and unforgettable Cornish retreat.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £450.
