The Watch

Arrived to a clean apartment and a bonus we met the owners and Meg the dog.

They advised to put the car outside the other apartment which is up the slope to unload/load the luggage, which we did and put the car back into the space for The Watch. The apartment is up some steps as it is at the top, and it was lovely and clean with milk in the fridge, with tea, sugar and coffee on the table which was a welcomed drink after a long drive. Everything is in the kitchen, that you would need, we just took some extra things, eg tea towels, wipes, kitchen towel and cloths, these are provided within the apartment. The rooms were lovely and airy, with plenty of storage to put your clothes away and there was a gorgeous view to Porthcurno beach from the kitchen. The windows have safety locks on so you can’t open them wide, and we also had lots of entertainment watching the cars, vans and buses go up and down the road. If you are going out and the weather is going to be good, I would leave early as traffic starts to come down around 9, and then again around 3-4 depending on what’s going on at the Minack. We drove out to Lands End to come back or to go out, as the roads are narrow with passing points and there is a very sharp turn which isn’t too bad going down it’s a bit steep when you have to go up, and some cars like to take the whole road!! I highly recommend that you get your shopping delivered which we did, and Tesco and Sainsbury’s deliver to the apartments, so you don’t have to worry about going back out. The weather was gorgeous and we found lots of different walks around the area, which I highly recommend but sturdy footwear is required. All in all a lovely home from home, clean, tidy and well equipped. Thanks for a lovely stay and hoping to return back again soon.

Perfect location for the Minack & beach.

Everything you need is provided, will certainly return. We were very lucky with the weather as it was nice and warm so a fan might be worth packing as it does get nice and warm in the Watch. Nothing bad to say, just thank you and we will be back.

A lovely place.

Very comfortable with amazing views out of all windows. The minack theatre was in walking distance with a lovely cafe and amazing views be and lovely gardens with an interesting history. The beach was excellent and the beach cafe served lovely salads ,sandwichee etc. We never got to try the breakfast as we didn't get up earlier enough. There was aiso a good bus service two minute away. One to Pensance and one to land send.

We had a weeks stay at The Watch.

It was clean and comfortable and had all the facilities we needed for our stay. The Watch is in a lovely cove within easy distance to many places. We enjoyed visiting Lands End, St Ives, Sennen Cove, Penzance and Mousehole and more smaller towns. The highlight was our trip to the Minack Theatre which was a 10 minute walk from The Watch so no car needed. One drawback for some might be the steep staircase up to the property. Plenty of room to park. We loved it.

Apartment was perfect, location was perfect, didn’t want to leave, would definitely recommend

The Watch had everything we needed for a comfortable, cosy stay. The ideal location for coastal walks, the beach and the amazing Minack Theatre. The hosts are lovely and welcoming and we will definitely be returning. Thank you so much.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable, quirky apartment at the top of the building.

The hosts have thought of everything to make a great stay. Just a very short walk to the beautiful Porthcurno beach, Minack theatre and Telecommunication museum.

What a beautiful apartment.

Literally couldn’t fault a thing! Really clean, spacious, we all loved staying in The Watch. Already talking about when we are going to book to go back!

Bit surprised that there wasn't a plug for the bath so feel the listing needs to be updated to remove the bath from the description.

We found the freezer to be very noisy, so needed to turn up the TV when we were watching it. WiFi didn't work very well in the lounge so if you need it, you may have to use it in the bedrooms. But apart from these relatively minor issues, we found the apartment to be very comfortable, light and much bigger than the photos give the impression of. Ideally situated for the Minack, beach and lots of walking. There were actually 2 parking spaces, not just the one as per description. Oh, and the pub has now closed down.

Really convenient location for the Minack Theatre, beach and costal path. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it!

We absolutely loved staying at the Watch.

It was very homely, cosy and clean. Everything was there that you’d need and the owner is very attentive, should you need assistance. It’s in the perfect location . A very special place, both location and accommodation.

I stay in many Sykes properties during the year and they are all fabulous. I have to say that The Watch @ Porthcurno is now my all time favourite. Such a beautiful apartment with a wonderful setting for Sea watching and Wildlife. Far bigger than it appears in the photographs....with everything you need for day to day requirements. Owners are friendly & helpful but non intrusive and are only a short distance away if needed. I went to sleep listening to the waves across the rocks and was woken by birdsong, in my opinion 100% iddylic.

The Watch was a wonderfully cosy holiday let.

Perfect position in the valley with views to the sea. We enjoyed blustery coastal walks round to Porth Chapel and round the headland to Logans Rock...knowing we had a warm, comfortable welcome when we returned to The Watch. Kids and dog friendly, it was an awesome mini break enjoyed by the whole family. Thank you

The accommodation was excellent, clean and well thought out, it contained everything we needed.

The position also excellent for the beach and quietness.

We both loved the Watch although for the summer season we both think that the outside area could be cleaned up somewhat as it does look shabby, & indeed that was also the opinion of some walkers up the path to the rear of the property as at the time they did not know that we were staying there.

This was a lovely place to stay.

Unusually, it was bigger than the photos suggested. There were lovely touches such as a vase of roses and biscuits for our arrival, a pair of binoculars to admire the wonderful views and milk in the fridge. We were performing at the Minack for the week so the location was perfect. Just a note to those are a little taller than myself (5ft 4), there are sloping ceilings which resulted in a few banged heads. A very enjoyable stay indeed.

Location was perfect we could walk to the beach to the Minack Theatre and to a fantastic pub Logan's Rock.

The coastal walks were exceptional.
