The property

Wake up to the sound of the sea and the scent of salt on the air at 2 Cliff Cottages - a picture-perfect retreat perched on the Cornish coast, just steps from the beach and set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

With its postcard sea views, coastal charm and private hot tub, this idyllic getaway in West Portholland is made for escape.

This traditional stone-built fisherman’s cottage sits right beside the quiet coast road and is just a stone’s throw from West Portholland Beach, with East Portholland Beach only a short stroll beyond.

At low tide, the two beaches merge into one golden stretch of sand - perfect for morning swims, sandy picnics, or barefoot walks along the shore.

Lovingly styled with a crisp nautical interior, 2 Cliff Cottages blends character with comfort.

The open-plan living and dining area features exposed stone, coastal colours, and a picture window that frames the sea beyond - a beautiful space to relax after a day on the coast.

The compact kitchen is fully equipped for everything from lazy breakfasts to fresh-off-the-boat seafood suppers.

Dine indoors or head out to the sea-facing patio to soak up the views with a glass of wine.

And for ultimate relaxation, slip into your private hot tub - perfect for unwinding at the end of a beachy day, whatever the season.

Upstairs, there are two inviting bedrooms: a serene king-size room with sea views, and a second with a full-size day bed - suitable for both adults and children.

A stylish shower room is located on the ground floor.

Best of all, dogs are very welcome — so you can bring your four-legged friend along to explore the coast path and beaches by your side.

When you’re ready to explore, follow the South West Coast Path to the neighbouring hamlet of East Portholland (a filming location for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children), or discover nearby highlights like Gorran Haven, Vault Beach, Dodman Point, Charlestown and Mevagissey.

The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and Truro’s cathedral and boutiques are also within easy reach.

Whether you’re planning a romantic escape, a small family getaway, or a coastal break with your dog, 2 Cliff Cottages is a rare find.

With its unbeatable beachside setting, private hot tub, and timeless coastal charm, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again.

This property only accepts Monday and Friday changeovers.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.

About the location

GORRAN HAVEN

Mevagissey 3 miles.

Once a crab fishing village, Gorran Haven on the south coast of Cornwall is ideally placed to explore the many beaches and coves in the area. Gorran Haven has a small sandy beach set behind a traditional sea wall, connecting with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide and is popular with families. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is readily accessible from the South West Coast Path that passes through Gorran Haven. Within walking distance are a number of more isolated beaches and the 370 feet high Dodman Point, rising above Gorran, which is thought to be one of Cornwall’s most dramatic headlands, and the cause of many a shipwreck. From its gorse-covered heights there are views across Veryan Bay to the west and Vault Beach to the east. Alternatively, you may wish to walk the coastal path to the harbour village of Mevagissey. Near Gorran Haven, in a beautiful setting of woodland, stream and pasture, is Caerhays Castle, an informal 60-acre garden on the coast near Porthluney Cove. Nearby attractions are the wonderful Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project, Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum and the cathedral town of Truro, with an excellent range of quality shopping and dining.

This property only accepts Monday and Friday changeovers.
