“What a gem .”

We have had a fabulous stay at Chapel Green Studio. From start to finished we couldn't of asked for more. A lovely welcome from Julia and her granddaughter. Lots of lovely touches, from Prosseco, tea/coffee, eggs, milk and delicious home made scones with jam and clotted cream. Bed was lovely and comfy. The pool and Hot tub were fabulous, as was the games room and gym. Julia and David gave us lots of info on the area. A love pub nearby , great food and ambience. A great location to ...

“Julia and David were wonderful hosts.”

Julia greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. We had Prosecco and homemade scones as a welcome treat and a few other essentials like milk and eggs. The apartment is so comfortable and ideal for a couple staying. Dogs are welcome and I regretted not bringing mine along due to the quiet area and beautiful walks locally. The hot tub and swimming pool were wonderful. Although there were other guests staying there it felt like our own private space. The games room was also a big selling point on evenings where the weather was awful. The location is so quiet yet really central to all the best spots, plenty of places to see with amazing food and plenty amenities a short drive away. The local pub was warm and welcoming and the local shop well stocked with everything you could need. I would highly recommend this place to stay. We will definitely be visiting again.

“We have just got home from a most wonderful Family holiday as we booked all 3 cottages.”

to accommodate the Family of 16, 4 generations Ranging from 81 years old to 7 months old. Plenty of space for the adults and children to play. The accommodation was spotless Well-maintained Garden for the children to roll about. Pool and hot tub were great for holiday fun as the children love to be in the pool. Which was nice and warm Somewhere to relax after a day out. Hosts, David & Julia were most welcoming and nice surprise of Scones Clotted cream & Jam (Cornish way of course) Milk, Eggs and Prosecco. We hope to return.

“Perfect location to explore Cornwall.”

The accommodation is very comfortable. The kitchen has all the equipment you need to self cater. Pool and Jacuzzi is warm and inviting. The games room is fun but we didn’t use the gym! We walked to the well stocked village shop and also to the pub. Lovely hosts, always available for a chat!

We had a fantastic time at Chapel Green , we were greeted by Julia when we arrived and shown to our studio apartment This was beautiful no expense spared , lovely bed , bathroom with power shower and French doors that open out into patio area Kitchen is well equipped with fridge freezer cooker microwave and deluxe washing machine Rubbish collected daily aswell as dog poos if you bring your furry friends Up the stairs to side is lovely sun loungers and washing line Also fantastic swimming pool hot tub games room small gym All set in beautiful countryside Absolutely loved it here will definitely be coming back

“Washing machine rubber seal was very dirty, I had to clean it before I could do any washing.”

Shocked to find several hairs on the bed sheet when I pulled back the duvet. I had taken pictures of the bed which I showed to the owner on their return to the property. They were most apologetic and said they would speak to their cleaner.

The washing machine is used at every changeover and this was fine and clean before your arrival, I would invite prospective guests to read our previous feedback, we pride ourselves on offering clean and comfortable accommodation, and our main focus is the enjoyment of our guests. “David and Julia are lovely people and excellent hosts.”

There business is an absolute credit to their hard work and dedication to deliver an excellent holiday to guests. We stayed in the studio with our two dogs, perfect set up, from the surprise gift and excellent scones to the fully equipped kitchen, sky tv , comfy bed and towels. You could just turn up with a tooth brush and some clothes as everything is provided. The grounds are immaculate and the pool, jacuzzi, gym and games room make your stay even more enjoyable. My wife's comment, simple " Nicest Hosts We've Ever Had" We visited the surrounding area from Newquay to St Michaels Mount to local places Fowey, Charlestown and others. Great holiday and lovely place to relax and enjoy. Highly recommend to everyone.

“We stayed in Chapel Green studio for a week during May half term and it was fantastic.”

We arrived to a beautiful welcoming pack consisting of prosecco, eggs, milk a cream tea and tea, coffee etc, this was such a lovely touch. The studio had everything you needed for a fabulous week away including a hair dryer and ironing board and plenty of kitchen equipment. Honestly this place was fantastic and bigger than what the pictures suggest. We had lots of space and the bed was comfortable too. The wet room had a beautiful up to date shower and towels were a plenty. David & Julia were so welcoming. Julia gave us a little tour on arrival and told us about the local shop and pub in walking distance, which were both fantastic too!!. The hot tub and swimming pool were an added luxury which we used after days out visiting. This is shared with the other two properties but you were given a key to be able to use it any time of the day. We found Chapel Green to be right in the middle of Cornwall making it easy access to lots of attractions. We will definitely be booking here again when next in Cornwall. If your after a quiet, comfortable stay with added luxury away from the hussle and bustle of the busy tourist spots but in easy access to them then is definitely for you. Keep it simple as its one of those fancy ones which will always create problems. That`s all the pointers i have. It had everthing you needed for a truly relaxing peaceful Holiday. Bonus was the swimming pool and jacuzzi . Lovely views over the countryside. Very helpful and pleasant owners. Good location to visit different areas. Excellent village pub. Perhaps add to the property description, that there is a very steep walk back from the village which may be difficult for the less mobile, however only five minutes by car.

“Our studio apartment was excellent.”

It was spotless and spacious with a patio. It had everything we needed ,including the added luxury of a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi. The only thing we would have preferred was a firmer bed due to back issues. One of 3 cottages in the grounds, we enjoyed our privacy. It was set in beautifully maintained gardens. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly to us and our dog, and lived on site, which was really good. We arrived to find a bottle of Prosecco , milk and a box of chocolates in our fridge, which was a lovely touch, especially after a long journey. A fabulous stay in a great location.

Julia and David made us feel totally at home. Nothing was too much trouble. The welcome pack of eggs, milk, chocs and prosecco was a lovely gesture. The garden was secure for the dog and the setting is peaceful and stunning. The indoor pool a great plus. Mevagissey is 5 miles away and not to far to other beaches. Polgooth Inn is dog friendly and their pizzas were amazing. All in all a fabulous break. Thank you. We will be definitely be back.

Great location. Friendly helpful owners on site. Lovely extras in the fridge for us. I really enjoyed the swimming pool. Very well equipped and good useable space for us and our dog. Minor negative points - very heavy king size duvet on double bed which kept sliding off. No dishwasher but fine when there are just two of you. Rather a lack of flat surfaces to put things on in kitchen and living area.

“The Studio apartment had everything we needed, spotlessly clean and also had a bottle of Prosecco, box of chocolates, eggs and milk in the fridge on arrival.”

The swimming pool was also spotless I used it six out of the seven days of my stay and always had it all to myself. Porthluney Bay next to the Caerhays Castle was the beach Julia the owner recommended which was a beautiful place, safe for swimming. The Polgooth Inn is only a ten minutes walk away, lovely food and nice atmosphere. If you would like a peaceful place to stay Chapel Green will hit the spot.

The owners, David and Julia, are brilliant. They keep the whole facility and extensive grounds in an immaculate condition. The only very small criticism is that there is insufficient work surface in the kitchen and no dishwasher but everything else is great.

Everything you need to enjoy your stay and the hosts were helpful and friendly. Great swimming pool. I am disabled and use a wheelchair and found the bathroom slightly small but for a couple it is ideal. There is another studio which is specifically designed for both able and disabled people which I looked over for future visits which would have been perfect but unfortunately booked for my stay. The area is ideal for visiting places of interest and the countryside is beautiful. What more could you want? Will be back.

“The welcome was warm and the facilities exceeded our expectations.”

Cleaning materials, tea towels, bin bags, clingfilm and toilet roll included (important as the corona virus shutdown broke the week we were there). Very kind of the owners to leave wine, chocolates, milk, orange juice and eggs for us as well - thank you :) The studio is isolated and peaceful, outside table and chairs, seating areas would be lovely to use in good weather. The swimming pool was housed in a large orangerie type building next to the studio, - warm water, shower and lots of places to lounge, very nice indeed. The local shop is 5 minutes walk from the property and the lovely pub is about 7 mins walk away.

Brilliant location, not too far from anywhere. It was clean, well equipped and cosy when the evening went chilly. Julia and David are perfect hosts, always available and accommodating but never intrusive. The pool was superb, we used it every day. There are some dog friendly beaches not too far away and also some quaint little villages with lots of history. Lovely area. We’re already planning our next visit!!

A well thought out property with everything you need. The studio is spotlessly clean and although it is small it is well equipped . Lovely complimentary gifts from the hosts who are very friendly and are on hand if you have any questions. Our dog loved the dog basket provided and enjoyed the green areas at the front and back of the property. The swimming pool is a very pleasant bonus. I would definitely recommend this property.

“Had such a wonderful holiday here.”

The apartment it self is lovely, very modern, very well equipped and comfortable!! The host are lovely! Very welcoming and extremely informative about the area and how to use the facilities. Really nice people, but kept out of your way during the stay so you still felt like you had your privacy. There were chocolates, wine, milk and eggs on arrival which was a lovely touch to come into. We had the fantastic surprise that their swimming pool had just opened when we arrived, which is amazing!! Your allowed to use this at night as well, which made it look really pretty with the blue lights. And a good temperature for swimming!! The village is great, has a local shop with all you need 5 mins walk down the road, and a lovely pub called the polgooth inn a couple mins walk on from the shop. Has a great vibe and lovely out door seating, which looks amazing at night with fairy lights and wooden booths. It gets busy at weekends so book a table to eat if you want to eat inside. Other wise they have blankets to take out side if you get cold. I thought it was soo well thought about. Lovely stay, lovely village, lovely people and a fantastic holiday! Thank you!!

“I would just like to say perfect stay best place I have ever stayed.”

Owners was very friendly always stopping for a chat or helping out with advice on where to go best route to go they couldn’t be any more helpful. The apartment was very clean with everything you need to cook etc also there was free wine and chocolates upon arrival was was a very nice touch. What surprised me further they provided milk tea bags and coffee to make drinks I’m sure what ever you needed they would provide for you. The surrounding area was kept very neat and tidy grass cut nice plenty flowers. They also provide a private patio where we had 2 sun loungers to relax in sun if you are a star gazer perfect at night to watch the stars. Also dog friendly we didn’t take our dogs but an other family did dog basket provided and looked very comfy for the dog. If you do stay in Cornwall I suggest this place to anyone to stay. Perfection is what I use to describe this place

POLGOOTH

Mevagissey 5 miles; St. Mawes 18 miles; Truro 14 miles.

With its history rooted firmly in tin mining, the village of Polgooth is now a quiet settlement on the outskirts of St Austell, frequented by visitors enjoying the area's outstanding countryside. Just 3 miles from the sea, the village is close to several lovely beaches, and the south-west coastal path also runs close by. The area has a host of visitor attractions, with the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Tall Ships Harbour at Charlestown all within a 15 minute drive. The quaint fishing harbour at Mevagissey, with its passenger ferry across the bay to Fowey, is just 5 miles away, and the beautiful Roseland Peninsula with the villages of St. Mawes and St. Just-in-Roseland lies just a little further. Enjoy a coastal walk and take in the wonderful views, spend a day on the beach, or visit one of the numerous attractions close by. A fantastic location, any time of the year.
