    “The Shower was leaking into the internal mechanism, however, a new shower was fitted very quickly, the only issue was that those people within sykes, until i made a second phone call never got back to confirm what was happening, which disrupted our holiday slightly.”

    There was a leak in the lower porch due to winds and heavy rain which will still need to be fixed - not sure you have this on the list at sykes. The cleanliness was not great a there were lots of long hairs in the shower, and on the floors which i would not expect, and under beds never been cleaned so alot of dust which set off my asthma ( I am not normally this sensitive but there was quite a lot of dust). Having said all of that it was comfortable, great location and a modern high spec, with ...

  • Note: You can stop opposite the cottage for a short time to unload the car before parking.

The property

This charming three-bedroom home, Chy An Mor, is perched in the fishing community of Mevagissey, Cornwall.

Chy An Mor is an excellent starting point for the ideal Cornish trip.

It is set over three storeys and has a light and spacious atmosphere that can accommodate six visitors along with their pet.

Once inside your new home, relax on the plush couches in the living room, turn on the Smart TV, and catch up on all your favourite shows as the woodburning stove creates a pleasant atmosphere.

Step inside your superbly furnished kitchen, which has everything you'll need for a successful self-catered stay, including a washing machine and dishwasher to guarantee your holiday clothes stay clean and dishes are a thing of the past.

Enjoy family meals together at the six-person dining table, or on warm days, step outside into the private, enclosed patio to dine alfresco or raise a glass of wine in celebration of a memorable trip.

When it gets dark outside, retire to one of the three exquisitely furnished bedrooms, one of which has a balcony that is furnished so you can take in the view from a higher vantage point.

Before pulling back the blankets and going to sleep, wash the day away in the roomy shower.

Start your day with a leisurely stroll around Mevagissey Harbour, stopping along the way to visit the Mevagissey Museum and Mevagissey Aquarium, which features an extensive collection of marine life.

Treat your loved ones to a filling lunch at one of the many nearby restaurants, pubs, and eateries, and indulge in a cold beer before moving on to the next leg of your adventure.

You can walk to the harbour which is a 3 minute stroll away and take a short walk to Polstreth Beach on the edge of the village which is dog friendly all year, you can also walk along the coastal path to Portmellon, where you'll find a pub and small beach at low tide, from here you can continue walking to Chapel Point and Colona beach which is also dog friendly, if you fancy a longer walk you can continue along the coastal path to Gorran Haven and further afield, aternatively, head to Saint Austell, where history fans are likely to enjoy a visit to the Shipwreck Treasure Museum and the Historic Port of Charlestown.

You'll never run out of things to see or do thanks to the ideal location for exploring the famed eco-park Eden Project, the lovely National Trust-owned Lantic Bay, the perfect place to unwind with the sound of the waves in the background, and the far-off towns of Padstow and Port Isaac.

MEVAGISSEY

St. Austell 5.5 miles; Truro 16 miles.

The perfect Cornish fishing village, with winding cobbled streets and a picturesque harbour full of boats. Stunning walks lead along the coast in both directions, with sandy beaches, high cliffs and hidden coves to explore. The village has an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, whilst just up the road are the Lost Gardens of Heligan. A ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey also runs daily between Easter and September. Spend some time at the Tall Ships harbour at Charlestown (7 miles) with its shipwreck museum, or among the tropical biomes of the world-famous Eden Project (11 miles). The stunning coastline, fabulous beaches and renowned gardens of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula are a short drive down the coast while Truro, with its shops, restaurants, theatre and cathedral can be reached by car in half an hour.
