“We visited in March 2024 for a week.”
The area was lovely and quiet as out of season, the cottage is in an ideal location and we was able to walk to two nearby beaches. The Oyster Catcher just a 5 minute walk away is really nice, they serve great food and the staff were really friendly.
We absolutely loved our week in Cornwall and visited lots of places, we would love to return to Trebetherick, but would not book this cottage again.
The cottage is a good size and gets plenty of light, but it is not comfy or cosy for a holiday stay. The biggest disappointment for us was the sofa in the main living/kitchen area, it was so uncomfy to the point we started going to bed early at 8pm to just try and be comfy in the bedroom on an evening, after a long day exploring all you want to do on an evening is relax, not here, we even tried padding it out with quilts from the beds we weren't using. To simply put it the sofa desperately needs replacing.
The TV in the living/kitchen area is really small, you just don't get that living room vibe here.
The second smaller living room has a large TV and a slightly better sofa, but it is full of stains and generally just felt dirty, again we put a quilt over it to try and make it feel more relaxing, but this room was full of webs and spiders.
The floors were dirty throughout the cottage, we kept slippers on at all times.
Things like the cutlery drawer were really dirty and full of bits etc.
If you have any young children consider that they will be sleeping downstairs whilst you are upstairs at the other side of the cottage, with long corridors/rooms between them and the main bedroom - there is a large distance between the main upstairs ensuite bedroom and the two bedrooms downstairs, both being right next to main doors leading outside.
The cottage could be really lovely, but unfortunately it is not getting the maintenance it needs to make it a comfortable holiday cottage.
