“Love this little cottage, it’s very clean and comfortable, ideally situated in Port Isaac on the edge of the village, only a couple of minutes walk downhill to shops, restaurants and pubs etc.”
, with spectacular views along the way. There’s everything you need for two, unless you are a very keen cook, (not me, I’m on holiday!) but as there is a dishwasher, in order to take advantage of this and run it fully loaded the kitchen could probably benefit from a few more tumblers and plates etc and also a pyrex dish or two to bake a bit of lovely Cornish cod from the fish market down on the Platt! It’s an absolute bonus to have a parking space right outside the door, a rare thing in Port Isaac, but there were days when we just left it where it was and walked down to the village and spent some very happy hours there, eating, drinking, shopping and relaxing on the little beach. There’s plenty to do here in the evenings but one of our favourite things after dinner was to walk a short way along the coastal path to watch the sun go down at around 9.30 pm, a spectacular sight and literally the best light show you’ll ever see, weather permitting! Restaurants we enjoyed were The Old School House, five minutes walk away, The Angry Anchovy, not much further but uphill, Mote down in the village and many others, there are also loads of places to buy pasties, icecreams etc (watch out for greedy seagulls if eating anything outside), or get a cream tea, there’s a Co-op just a short uphill walk away on the outskirts of the village for essential top-ups, it has a good carpark if you need a lot of shopping. Mary the owner thoughtfully left us a welcome bottle of wine in the fridge and some lovely roses, little touches that makes this delightfully immaculate cottage one of our favourite places to stay. Booking and communications were easy and excellent, help is at hand should you have any problem with anything, great service all round, thankyou!
