The property

100 steps from Porthtowan's Blue Flag award winning beach and within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Gecko Beach sits on one of Cornwall's most popular surfing beaches, with soft golden sand backed by dramatic cliffs.

The beach is lifeguarded from May to September and there is a secluded tidal swimming pool.

Two local surf schools offers tuition and kit hire to all ages and abilities.

This friendly coastal community has two pubs, a great café with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, an ice cream parlour, surf shop, beach gift shop, children's play-park and well-stocked village store. Gecko Beach apartment sits in a quiet no-through road that leads directly to the beach and makes an ideal retreat for singles or couples, whether seeking relaxation on the beach or adrenaline in the surf.

There are beautiful beach and cliff top walks along the South West Coast Path featuring some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in the UK.

Walk a gentle 2.2 km north to Chapel Porth and then reward yourself by indulging in a delicious 'Hedgehog Ice cream' (Cornish ice-cream with a dollop of clotted cream rolled in hazelnuts.) Trevaunance Cove at St Agnes is a worthy walk too - with a good inn serving traditional award winning ales.

For those seeking peace, tranquillity and solitude, walk south to discover dramatic secret coves; such as the exquisite Sally's Bottom.

Cycle hire and pony trekking are available within 2km.

Further afield, Truro has an excellent range of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Maritime Falmouth features a harbour, four beaches, the Maritime Museum, eateries for all tastes and galleries and boat trips for fishing and water-wildlife safaris.

Gecko Beach offers contemporary styled accommodation and takes advantage of its first floor position with fantastic elevated views towards the ocean, cliff tops and countryside.

The interior is fresh and comfy with an open-plan living room with dining bar and modern kitchen, with patio doors to the sunshine balcony.

Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at the bijou table in the Cornish air!
