“I have to confess to being disappointed with my stay at 7 Longshore, upon arrival I could see the owners of no.”

8 hanging out of their top floor master balcony cleaning and when I looked across I could see that something had impacted the glass balcony at no.7 and it had shattered one of the glass panels. Based on the position, the force looks to have to come towards the property ( Happy to send photos). As we arrived late, and had a busy day the following day we hd quick showers and rushed out on Sunday, however upon out return their was no hot water to showers to freshen up, and this was the same all week just enough for 2 showers on a morning. I emailed the owner via the app, to inform them of the issues with the balcony, hot water and I also mentioned that the curved TV had bad light bleed in the screen in case they were unaware. I also mentioned no bins had been collected and what days should I put these out as the bins were over flowing before I even added to them. After a few days of no response from the owner, I called Sykes directly who said they would contact the owner. Neither Sykes or the owner never made further contact. The property was clean but wear and tear of a rental was visible and small welcome gift was provided, so someone had visited the property prior to my arrival and should have noticed the balcony. The location was great as was the parking at the property. Prior to the end of the rental, Sykes sent a departure email informing me to follow the instruction for exiting the property. As there is no welcome/information pack, that explains how anything works or what days if any to put the bins out. I stripped the beds used and left the bedding folded, and the same with towels used as this is normally the process for other holiday homes. The shattered glass balcony is two floors up above the front door and poses a safety risk, and should have been addressed with some urgency. We had no option but to enter and exit below as this is the only lockable door from the outside. It is extremely disappointing that the owner did not respond nor did Sykes to follow up considering the safety risk of a broken glass balcony, and in 9 years of visiting Cornwall this is the first time hot water has ever been restricted. If you would like photos of the balcony, please provide an email.

Here, apart from being well-known for their food and local ales, a varied range of weekly events prove most popular. Opposite the pub, is the magnificent village church, dating from around 1430, and the high tower has been a landmark for generations of fishermen.
