Whilst the property was a cute village cottage and our stay was comfortable.

I would have to say the place could have been cleaner. The kick boards in the kitchen are old, scuffed and could do with replacing. The area behind the sofa needed hoovering, as did the lounge rug. The pictures in the master bedroom needed a good clean, not just a quick dust. The outside area needed cleaning and hedge trimming (which was dine by the neighbour on our 3rd day of being there). The cottage however, was well equipped. Near the sea a short walk from the village centre. But the sunroom is really just a porch for coats and shoes!

A gorgeous house in a gorgeous location with gorgeous neighbours.

The only thing that wasn’t gorgeous was leaving. The house was beautiful and very clean. It was just what we needed. Thank you for the welcome hamper too, very thoughtful.

We have loved our stay at Pegs.

It is a lovely cottage , literally across a road from the beach. The cottage is well equipped, with everything you need to cook if you want to. The bedrooms are airy and big enough for a family of 4. We loved the decor and a homely feel. We were greated by scones, jam and clotted cream and a bottle of locally pressed apple juice and a bottle of wine which was a very nice tough. There is a lovely little bench just outside the cottage, on the other side of the road where we have often sat in the morning with a cup of tea, looking out to the sea. There is a 2 minute walk to Atlantic Inn pub which is lovely and very nice, generous portions of food with very good prices in comparison to the Harbour Inn in town (which could be expected as Hrabour Innis in the centre). The walk into town is literally few minutes and it is along the sea which we loved too. There are only positives we have to say about our stay, lovely people around, beach on a doorstep and you can hear the sea from your bedroom when waking up - what more could you want! Lovely little gem, definitely recomend it.

This is our second stay at Peggs cottage, the location was perfect and the walk down into Porthleven was lovely, the beach and sea is so handy, literally two or three minutes from the cottage and no shortage of good places to eat.

We plan to revisit next year.

Second time we have stayed at Pegs both occasions have been great.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay in PEGS- it is the most wonderful little fishing cottage- right by the sea, but warm and cosy, with a brilliant kitchen (if you love cooking!

) a delightful bathroom, and bright bedrooms (and comfy beds!). It is the perfect place to explore and go on cliff top hikes; fabulous nearby restaurants and the most idyllic harbour village. Free parking is available just a few moments walk away, the owners had thought of everything, with such attention to detail. Being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves is wonderful. We'll definitely be back!

Very happy to stay again in the future, really enjoyed our stay at Pegs.

Some changes were made since our last time (2023) which greatly improved the comfort of the cottage: new table and chairs inside, garden furniture (very uncomfortable the last years).

A nice new bathroom. That was our 21st holiday at Pegs and 27th in Porthleven!

Pegs is a lovely cottage in a fantastic location.

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Porthleven has everything you could need - beach, shops, pubs, restaurants and a pretty harbour. Highly recommend the Atlantic Inn for great pub food.

Perfect hideaway, the sea and beach a step away.

.Porthleven was delightful, lovely places to eat, The Atlantic Inn was perfectly placed for us ..just a short walk from Pegs, food and service was exceptional..the cottage was cosy and comfortable a real home from home.

Unfortunately when we arrived there was an extensive air of mustiness.

On entering the cottage it seemed ok but when examined closely, it definitely wasn’t clean. The dust and dirt behind the settee was extensive and definitely hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. The bedroom lampshades were full of dust and dirty

rather difficult to to work but lots of dvds so we happily watched those in the evening. Lovely quiet spot apart from the seagulls !! Fay Evans

Another great week at Peg's Cottage, shared this time with friends.

They were both very impressed with the location, comfort and facilities in the cottage. I would not hesitate in recommending Peg's to anyone wishing to explore this beautiful area of Cornwall. One very small point. The door to the twin bedroom does not shut properly. I had not noticed this on previous visits.

A delightful stay.

Cottage was clean to an excellent standard and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. The location was ideal. The perfect base for exploring the area by foot or car. We would happily recommend Pegs to any family and friends and hope we get to stay there again. Thankyou

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pegs cottage with our two children.

Situated just a few metres away from the steps down to the beach, the sound of the waves was a constant and lovely addition. The cottage has great amenities, especially in the kitchen, and the bathroom looks new, along with the excellent shower. The beds were clean and very comfy, and the decor upstairs was fresh and bright. The downstairs area is quirky and charming, with many books on Cornwall and the local area. The welcome pack, toiletries and towels were much appreciated, and all in all we had a wonderful and very memorable stay.

The location was very nice and the cottage was comfortable.

It could do with some updating and general maintenance however, also replacing the dining chairs. One was very wobbly so we opted not to use it. Cleanliness of the kitchen and utensils was quite not as expected and we had to bleach and wash the mugs before use & wipe down the draining board. Pegs could be a great cottage with some extra TLC.

This place is by far the best and loveliest place we’ve stayed in all our years travelling down from the Midlands.

We had everything we needed and the feel of the cottage is cosy and warm. Absolutely gorgeous location too! Felt like home away from home and our nearby family who popped in couldn’t stop saying how amazing it was too. The only thing we would comment on is some of the cleanliness, such as hoovering behind the sofa, dusting the radiator grate in the lounge/top of the stairs, and we only had one toilet roll (not expecting this for the whole week but two would have been better than one) Thank you so much for letting us stay and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful cottage, had everything we could need.

Decorated beautifully and good location, didn't want to leave!

Comfy and well organised with lots of storage and hooks to hang towels in bathroom.

The safety non slip mat for the bath was pretty grim but everything else seemed perfectly clean. Loved being able to go to sleep listening to the sound of the sea. Issue with key safe resolved very quickly

Very comfortable cottage.

Bathroom could do with a new bath mat and new sealant around bath. Well equipped and homely with very comfortable beds. We have already booked for next year.

We’ve stayed at this property nearly very year for at least 20 years.

We’ve always been generally pleased by its location, style, suroundings and some improvements made over the years. The last years we stayed at this cottage were in 2019-2020-2022 (the UK was «forbidden » to foreigners in 2021). On several occasions we made remarks about the state of the fridge (water inside because of melting ice). It hasn’t changed. This year, some metal parts on the garden chairs broke on our 2nd and 3rd days.because of the rust. I phoned your company and was told nothing could be done immediately. The other two garden chairs were in such a bad and old state that it was risky just to sit on them. So we stayed 2 weeks at this cottage without any garden chair. If we stay there next year, I just hope things will have changed.

We had a lovely stay in Pegs despite the unsettled weather.

Pegs was a lovely place to hang out when it was wet. The position near the town and coastal path was great. The cottage was extremely well equipped. The bed was super comfortable. Only slight downside was the stairs are very steep and narrow.

Lovely cozy cottage but needs a little TLC.

Bathroom definitely needs a revamp. Focus on a really good shower room and get rid impracticable small bath. Good location for town and great location close to sea/beach

Another great week in Pegs.

All enjoyed the strong winds and heavy seas! My Dad and his partner have been visiting Pegs for nearly 20 years so it has become their home away from home. Good to be able to enjoy this with them.

We enjoyed the location and character of Pegs cottage with the sound of the sea in the background and a long beach on the doorstep.

With great facilities within the cottage and a lovely walk into the harbour with a variety of restaurants made our stay a special one

The property is top of the range but the price added for the transfer of the rent from 2021 to 2022 (because as foreigners we’re not able to take any form of cancellation insurance due to the impossibility to enter the UK then) was horrendous.

We had a lovely comfortable stay.

PEGs is a great cottage right by the sea and a five minute walk to the harbour and coast path.

This was our first holiday away since covid and we booked on impulse because there was a last minute reduction - so glad we did.

.We loved the cottage! It was comfortable, stylish and thoughtfully equipped and we felt at home immediately. The position is fabulous and we had the most extraordinary sunsets. The local people are so welcoming and friendly and we were offered lobster and mackerel from two of our neighbours. There was a lovely welcome pack of wine, flowers, a cream tea and shortbread when we arrived. We really didn't want to leave and I am sure we'll be back. We didn't find parking a problem. The Shrubberies car park is a short walk away, beside the Atlantic Inn and across a field. We had a brilliant week exploring all our favourite haunts on the Lizard.

Nice cottage, well equiped and comfortable.

Partial sea view from the cottage, but only a few steps from the full view, and a bench overlooking the sea and views down to the Lizard. Easy 10 minute walk into the harbour with its shops, two pubs, cafes and resteraunts. Good location as a base and to explore the area. Our 2nd stay and we would use this cottage again.

The property was very clean on arrival,lovely welcome pack thank you. We love your property as it is a cosy,warm property, right near the seafront and a short walk from the harbour. Will be back.

Fantastic location with great views of the coast and sunset just across from the cottage. Easy access to the beach and town. Really characterful with super comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. We hope to be back.

We were disappointed to find that the WiFi was a BT setup that, for non BT subscribers, charged £19.

99 for 5 days and £1.99 per extra day. We've never encountered that before. We didn't pay. Whilst we were able able to use Data for general traffic, we couldn't use our tablets. On that basis I will be cautious about future bookings. A pity.

This cottage was amazing!

It was everything and more you could have wanted. It had everything you would need in your own home. The bed sheets crisp clean and white. Lovely welcome pack for when we arrived very much appreciated. Information on the areas activities was ready for us, fresh flowers on the table when we arrived. Will definatly recomend and would love to go back and stay there again.

My Dad and his partner have stayed at Peg's Cottage for many years and this time my sister and I spent a wonderful week with them both.

The cottage was excellent, well equipped, so comfortable and in a great location. I really can think of nothing negative to say. Just wish that we had longer there!!

Lovely clean cottage, well appointed and equipped kitchen, excellent welcome pack including cream tea, milk, tea/coffee and wine.

Partial sea views and just a quick walk down steps to the beach. Situated just 10 minutes walk from the beautiful harbour of Porthleven with a selection of bars, cafes and restaurants with gluten free available. Also Pengelly’s, a well stocked local Supermarket. For gluten free fish and chips, try Fraser’s in nearby Helston. The cottage is well situated for visiting the lizard, lands end, st Ives and many other beautiful places in West Cornwall.

Lovely cottage but need to do checks to ensure that everything is working i.

e lamps, television etc before guests arrive. And more importantly that the key box is working, fortunately a neighbour assisted us!! However, we had a great stay in Porthleven. Have to say that advising that the cottage has sea views is pushing it a little!!

Close to the beach, cosy and perfect location for beach, shops, restaurants and cafes.

Parking fine albeit not outside property. Property was clean and a well kitted out with dishwasher & washing machine. Lovely shower and private patio was lovely for evening drinks. The views from the property are outstanding! The owner should get the TV working as previous bookers and ourselves couldn't get to work and after a busy day out in sightseeing in the sunshine, some downtime TV would have been nice for kids before bed

The cottage was beautiful, it had everything you needed, even a view of the sea and the welcome pack was very much appreciated.

The parking situation is awful.

We had to carry our luggage and shopping quite a distance. It is unfortunate that the cottage is so inaccessible but can’t be helped. The directions are not very clear and we didn’t spot the small footpath as it was screened by parked cars for the other cottages. We went along Mounts Road, as directed, but had then to reverse all the way back as it is not a through road. The cottage was comfortable but rather dark and very steep stairs with a danger of banging one’s head coming down (and we are not tall). The welcome pack was lovely and the whole place was very clean and reasonably equipped. There is a cupboard under the stairs which is blocked off by a sideboard and fire extinguisher. It seems that any cleaning and laundry equipment is in there but not accessible! Funnily enough, considering the name of the cottage, we had to buy clothes-pegs before we could hang out some towels! We certainly will not book it again.

Cottage is a lovely cosy place to stay in.

Ideally situated in Porthleven. Very clean and thank you for the welcome pack it was much appreciated. We have already booked a week for next year to corospond with the Flora day at Helston. Would thoughely recommend this lovely place for a holiday.

There needs to be a non-slip mat in the bath for showering.

Having read other reviews regarding lack of teaspoons, we took our own ! Otherwise, an excellent cottage in a lovely location.

Storage heaters not working and very cold one day as my friend is 89 years old !

We’ve been staying at this cottage every summer for nearly 20 years and after several improvements over many years, the standard isn’t as good now : no change of sheets or linen even though we stayed two weeks; garden furniture not as comfortable as the previous seats (one even broke), lack of comfort of mattresses in single beds room, lack of outside space because of huge garden « box » with about a dozen cacti plants, no bath carpet, just a few hangers for 4 guests (we left those for children’s clothes after buying some items for family).

In the kitchen, basic equipment not renewed : one oven dish (when there used to be several), no more cups (only mugs), ONLY TWO TEA SPOONS (we bought some, but took them with us). After last year’s stay, we mentioned that the fridge needed checking regularly (too much ice which prevented door from closing properly). This wasn’t done. When arriving at the cottage, over the years, we used to have a bottle of wine, flowers, scones, clotted cream (even tea sometimes): this year, only a bottle of wine. The price was increased and the alibi of Covid meant we had to arrive later, which meant a small part of the first day. I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but we were slightly disappointed this year. Best regards. Patrick CURTAUD

Pegs is perfectly placed in Porthleven, both for the little town itself and access to the cliff path.

The house is well equipped with everything that you will need. We were there during Storm Ciara and were warm and snug throughout, which when you consider how close it is to the beach is pretty good. Parking is a bit of a faff but that's only to be expected in a small Cornish fishing village.

The cottage was comfortable and cosy, very close to the sea so the noise of the waves and breakers took some getting used to!

The bath room could do with some 're tileing, although the shower was very good. We struggled with the steep staircase. Parking was ok out of season, but could see it would be a problem in busy times.

A few remarks regarding the basic equipmentt of the cottage : lack of tea spoons, no oven mit, the pimmer was not working (broken because very old, we have been in this cottage many times before).

One of the garden armchairs was not usable (material torn because very old). The draining grill in the garden was full of rubbish and we had to clean it because water from the sink, washing-machine and dishwasher went into the garden. Finally, I had to call three times at the end of our first week (between the Thursday and Saturday) to know when new towels were going to be brought. Apart from those details, everything else was fine. We missed the bottle of wine and the flowers on arrival.

Great location, lovely town , lot's to do in the area.

Unfortunately the dishwasher didn't work and we cleaned it out which was rather revolting but on the whole a great holiday cottage.

Clearer instructions re recycling.

A warning that the stairs are slippery and you should be on shoes to go up and down on them.

Loved the cottage, great sea views and it had everything you could expect.

Porthleven is a lovely little town. Our 'constructive criticisms' - All the waste bins had not been emptied when we arrived so that had to be one of our first jobs. Also the granite wall behind the sofa kept 'dropping' dust and particles so the floor in that area was very dusty. These things did not spoil our holiday but worth mentioning I think and for this reason perhaps best not to publish my comments but give the property owner a chance to amend for future lets.

Was a lovely cottage the only thing was there was no flexibility on check in or check out.

Pegs is a great place to stay.

We enjoyed both the village and the landscape. The cottage is equipped with everything one can wish. We'd love to stay a week longer.
