“Lovely property in a nice location well situated for visiting different parts of Cornwall.”

    ...

All the rooms are a nice size with plenty of space & storage. The rear garden is a nice enclosed space with a nice outlook. The welcome pack was a nice surprise on arrival thank you. We struggled a bit with the central heating system running out of hot water most evenings as there were 5 of us. This was reported but we were told that's how it is due the the heatpump system fitted. I guess this would not be an issue in the summer months when the weather is warmer. As mentioned by others a cheese grater would of been handy in the kitchen, also a couple of baking trays possibly. Blackout curtains would be a great addition to the front bedroom windows too. The property could probably do with decorating if I'm honest as most of the walls look to have been touched up but look patchy this was no detrement to our stay just spoilt the overall look of the property. Also the lino in the upstairs bedroom is starting to bubble up slightly which may present a tripping hazard eventually. Lastly there didn't appear to be any instructions for what to do with bedding etc on checkout day. We did remove it for the cleaners as this is what's normally asked. Overall a great holiday home in a lovely place.

The property

If you are seeking a coastal break with access to a sandy beach and the South West Coast Path this contemporary coastal home is an excellent choice.

Ocean Heights is a newly built dormer-style bungalow located in the seaside village of Porthtowan, close to St Agnes and Portreath on Cornwall's north coast.

It sits in a select and quiet cut de sac, with views to the sea from the upper floor and over the enclosed garden to open farmland from the rear aspect.

The beautiful Blue Flag Status beach at Porthtowan is a 2 minute drive or a 10 minute walk along a footpath which is uneven and stoney. Instantly relaxing, Ocean Heights is spacious and full of light with coastal inspired interiors to set the holiday mood.

Step through the large hall into an open plan living room with a modernist kitchen, two three seater sofas and patio doors to an enclosed garden at the rear with a private outlook and picnic bench.

Designed with families in mind, there are three good sized bedrooms and two sleek bathrooms.

Watch the sunset on the horizon from the master en-suite bedroom before sinking into a delicious bed dressed with Egyptian cotton linens.

Guests here will appreciate both the luxury of the location and accommodation standards. Porthtowan Beach is located on a stunning coastline in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The village itself owes much of its character to its mining heritage and iconic engine houses still remain along the coastline and rugged uplands.

Popular among locals, families and surfers, the beach is safe for bathing and operates a life guard service during the main season and a surf school offering tuition for all abilities and equipment hire.

Facilities are at hand with a pub, a well-stocked convenience store, beach-side bar and restaurant, ice cream parlour, surf shop and gift store.

Perfect for ramblers, scenic walks can commence from the front door along the coast path which heads east to St Agnes and west to Portreath.

An excellent base for coastal escapades, the beaches at St Ives, Newquay and Watergate Bay and the cathedral city of Truro are all within easy driving reach.
