“While we were looking forward to a relaxing Easter weekend, our stay at this cottage was unfortunately marred by a significant lack of cleanliness and poor communication regarding the amenities.”

Cleanliness & Hygiene Issues The most pressing concern was the hygiene of the property. Upon arrival, it was clear that the cottage had not been properly prepared for guests. Cleanliness & Hygiene Issues The most pressing concern was the hygiene of the property. Upon arrival, it was clear that the cottage had not been properly prepared for guests. Spider Webs: Cobwebs were prevalent throughout the entire interior and exterior. They were tucked into corners near light switches, across the ceilings, and covering the balcony chairs, making the outdoor space unusable without a deep clean. Bathroom Condition: The bathroom was particularly disappointing. We found visible mould in several areas, and the space had not been cleared of leftover soaps and toiletries from previous visitors. This felt incredibly unhygienic and suggested a rushed or non-existent cleaning turnover. Amenity Management The property features a hot tub, which was a primary reason for our booking. However, there were no instructions provided on how to refill it. For a feature that requires specific maintenance, the lack of a manual or simple "how-to" guide was frustrating and prevented us from fully enjoying the facility. Summary The location has potential, but the lack of basic housekeeping and guidance for the hot tub made it impossible to feel comfortable. We hope the management takes these points as a serious call to improve their maintenance standards for future guests.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that your Easter stay did not meet expectations. Had we been made aware of these concerns during your stay, we would have been more than happy to provide guidance, arrange for a re-clean if required, or send someone to attend and assist on site. The property

Tehidy sits on the Towan Valley Resort, on the outskirts of Porthtowan, Cornwall.

This contemporary abode has an enclosed back yard with raised decking and hot tub and is situated just half a mile from the beach, ideal for a family getaway in any season.

After parking up in the off-road parking space, head through the front door into the lounge, where you can take a seat on the sofa and kick back in front of the Smart TV.

Move through into the kitchen, where you’ll find a range of appliances, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and even a washing machine, so there’s no need to bring your whole wardrobe!

Round off the evening with a dip in the hot tub before freshening up in the bathroom and whisking off to bed.

The master provides a king-size with zip/link beds, whilst there is also a double, plus a twin, each wonderfully presented.

Head into the centre of Porthtowan, a delightful village offering a choice of pubs and shops, and of course, a stunning sandy beach backed by imposing cliffs.

Lace up your walking boots and take the pooch out for a wander along the South West Coast Path, spanning further along the St Agnes Heritage Coast, stopping to capture photos of historical sites, including Trevaunance Cove, and appreciating glorious coastal vistas.

Make a stop off in the village of St Agnes with its many shops and cafés, or head to nearby Perranporth for its golden sands and excellent surfing conditions.

Further afield, visit Cornwall’s only city, Truro, or head to the sub-tropical domes of the Eden Project, a must for garden lovers.

Choose Tehidy for a wonderful break to Cornwall.
