    “I stayed at Palm Lodge for my birthday week in mid-May - a beautiful gift to myself and it fulfilled every wish 5-***** :).”

    From the moment I arrived at Praa Sands, I knew that the rest and restore that I needed would be found here. The Lodge is set in the secluded garden of the owners - breakfast on the veranda decking was a happy treat of watching young rabbits play on the lawn, together with fragrant flowers, vast skies and horizon sea view. The accommodation was welcoming, spotless, quiet, comfortable, well designed and laid out - the owner, Andrea has taken great care to ensure that every facility needed to ...

The Lodge is set in the secluded garden of the owners - breakfast on the veranda decking was a happy treat of watching young rabbits play on the lawn, together with fragrant flowers, vast skies and horizon sea view. The accommodation was welcoming, spotless, quiet, comfortable, well designed and laid out - the owner, Andrea has taken great care to ensure that every facility needed to create a gentle, easy stay was available. The goodies on the table, in the fridge and freezer were a joyous surprise - a thoughtful, tender touch. The local beach is stunning at any time of the day - it is a walk down past pretty gardens and the people are happy to chat and share their favourite places in the area. Thanks to them my list of things to see/do was made all the more special and I managed to enjoy them all :). This area holds a wonder for everyone, whether it's walking, gardens, galleries or the sea shore - you'll be spoilt for choice. Helston and Penzance are equal distances re larger grocery stores, though there's a handy Coop 5-minutes car drive away, which stocks most things. Andrea's kindness was also there when I needed help with my car - she removed all concerns, for which I was most grateful. Palm Lodge offered me much needed respite - it's gentle qualities lifted my well-being and gave me the perfect holiday. Andrea, thank you for a blessed stay. Karen

Praa Sands Cottages

Set paces away from the mile-long-stretch of sandy beach are these two well-presented cottages, Lighthouse and Palm Lodge. Both cottages are ideally positioned for couples looking to explore an area steeped with natural beauty or simply looking to spend time relaxing on the beach, which houses white sands and turquoise waters. Stepping into the cottages, you will be struck by the bright interior which ensures a welcoming base to come back to each evening. They both feature a sitting area, a quaint dining area and an amply equipped kitchenette, where you will be able to rustle up some delicious treats for you and your loved ones. Be charmed by the coastal mural and the impressive four-poster bed within Lighthouse, while Palm Lodge features a palm tree mural and a refreshing colour palette to match. Look forward to spending your summer evenings upon the patio areas, where you will be able to enjoy a refreshing beverage whilst catching the last glimpses of sunshine. If you don’t feel like cooking one evening, venture out the Sandbar restaurant, where you will find an outstanding dining menu and a breath-taking view to complement. PRAA SANDS

Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles

The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers. There are supermarkets and other retail stores in Penzance (8 miles) and Helston (6 miles).
