“We were hugely disappointed that the hot tub was not ready to be used on our first evening, given that our stay was only for 3 nights.”
We accept that hot tubs are emptied each time, but there was nothing in the booking to say not to expect the hot tub to be ready on first evening. We have stayed at numerous properties with hot tubs and have never had this issue and we are confident that they too had been emptied and refilled, but just given enough time to reheat for the next guests.
We were also quite shocked to find that the property had not been cleaned properly (especially in these Covid times). There were hand marks on the kitchen cupboards, sticky hand prints on the fridge opening, crumbs on the sideboard and bits in the drawers. The surfaces of the furniture were covered in dust in both the lounge and the bedroom and the flooring did not look as though it had been hoovered properly with bits on the floor and also dog hair which was also on the sofa and cushions. The sofa had stains and what looked to be dried food on it. We would accept stains may be unavoidable but you would expect dried on food to be cleaned off. The glass in the log burner was dirty and needed to be cleaned. The patio door windows overlooking the garden and the view were dirty and smeared which marred the view. The bed linen in the main bedroom was also stained. However the bathrooms and toilets were spotless.
The property itself is excellent with everything you could want, done to a very high spec, in a fantastic location and deserves 5 stars. However for a 5 star property there was not the 5 star service that you would expect.
Thank you for providing feedback following you stay at Sea The View. We have raised the cleanliness issues you mention with the owner of the property who will be taking this up with his cleaning agents, had you mentioned these issues during your stay he would have been more than happy to send someone to rectify this for you. The owner attended the property as soon as we were made aware of the hot tub issue. Property Owner
