The Snug

First impressions was Wow.

The cottage has everything you need. Pretty gardens, surrounded by Country walks. We were greeted by Gary and Kim, they made us feel welcomed. We will return.

The Snug really is a beautiful place to stay.

Very cosy and welcoming. The bed was so comfortable and a lovely rain shower in the bathroom. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Snug for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Delightful little barn, nicely decorated, good kitchen equipment comfy bed and well appointed bathroom.

Would definitely recommend as well as visiting Lost gardens of Helligan beautiful gardens and walks and Weald Martyn for education on china clay

A beautiful little snug.

Absolutely pristine. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in including my own. It’s very cosy, perhaps slightly more cosy then anticipated but definitely a perfect place for a couple getting away from everything for a week.

The hosts were wonderful ‘ The Sung was So clean and so pretty Everything you needed So quite so a good sleep and a very comfortable bed the setting was beautiful and easy access to all of Cornwall !

! Would highly recommend fantastic value for money !!!!

This little gem was tucked away in beautifully well kept surroundings.

The cottage itself was very clean, comfortable and well maintained, with everything you could possibly need. It was also a perfect base, Not too far from many of Cornwall’s ‘must visit’ places. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. This is definitely our new ‘go to’ Cornwall retreat.

The Snug was tastefully decorated and presented.

There were comfortable chairs, soft clean sheets and a well appointed kitchen area. It seemed like everything you could possibly need had been anticipated; from a hook in the shower for hanging wet items, to the generous number of electric sockets. The hosts were warm, friendly and welcoming. It is set in a peaceful location, with views across a field and beyond at the back and a lovely seating area in the beautiful flower filled courtyard at the front. It is within easy access to all that the South coast of Cornwall has to offer and so makes a super place to stay.

The property was perfect for the getaway that we wanted ie not much cooking.

Somewhere to just relax. Plenty of places to visit if you want to. Hosts knew when to chat and when to leave you alone. We really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic location for our needs.

Beautiful conversion, just perfect for the two of us. The one time we had to call on the proprietors (who were away themselves) our issue was resolved within 30 mins. We had a Three night stay, but would happily stay for a full week here to tour the rest of the area that we didn't this time around. Fully recommend 10/10

The Snug is a cosy cottage with superb views over the surrounding countryside, in an ideal location for visiting the amazing coastal and countryside areas.

The Snug is equipped with all that is required during your stay, and the owners are so pleasant and obliging.

Lovely property - snug is the perfect word for it especially when it's raining and you're nice and warm inside.

Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Property is well situated for the coast, with plenty of walks to choose from, and other attractions whilst being in a very quiet and relaxing location.

Beautiful little stone barn, pretty and cosy.

Owners were extremely friendly, very nice people nothing was too much trouble, they allowed us to sit in their own garden rather than outside the barn, using their recliners as the weather was so lovely, overlooking the beautiful countryside, it was a most peaceful and relaxing stay, we would recommend it.

The Snug is a wonderful wonderland of a place to stay.

Ideal for me on my own with the rest of my family on holiday close by in Newquay. The location is great with peaceful walks in the immediate vicinity and easy road access to most places I remember from my many holidays in Cornwall these past 63 years. Amazing, no complaints at all it was an excellent accommodation for 2.

Immaculate and cosy with everything you required in place. We took e bikes and they were able to accommodate these as well which was a massive bonus to us. The hosts were really nice and were most helpful too. We would not hesitate in recommending this cosy little "Snug".

The Snug had everything we needed. The owners have thought about everything and have made it cosy and comfortable. The property was a bit tricky to find initially as the postcode took us to Merry Meadows Farm, other than that it was perfect.

Spotlessly clean, well appointed for a small cottage but immaculate in every aspect. A perfect place for quiet getaway for 2. We were so happy with our stay that we have already booked again for next year but in the owners larger barn convertion at the same farm. Highly recommended

The Snug is well named, a little cosy bit of heaven.

Idyllic location. The accommodation is small but the owners have ensured it has everything you need and has lots of nice furnishings, homely touches. Exceptionally clean.

The location was brilliant we visited many places whilst on our visit.

The snug was immaculate . The kitchen had everything you could ask for and the shower was like a power shower , would highly recommend .

Kim the owner was on hand when we arrived to give us a quick tour of the lovely warm "Snug". Beautifully presented, clean and inviting. You can tell that Kim has put in a lot of thought and effort into making our stay at The Snug one to remember. Lovely and comfortable furnishings, well equipped kitchen, great shower and even a table and chairs outside to catch the last of the sun! Great location to visit all the pretty harbours in the area and the Eden Project too which is only a few minutes down the road. We would definitely want to return to the Snug or the separate larger house next door. Thank Kim for a great stay!

Super clean, comfortable (bed was particularly comfy!

) and suitably named! It really was a snug.. the owners were friendly and accomodating. Perfectly located, not far from Charlestown Harbour with it's great food places, views, history and relaxed atmosphere. We are getting married in July and the snug gave us a much needed getaway, a break from wedding prep and the children. Sunny morning courtyard to enjoy a quiet coffee before setting off for the day, you really could be anywhere!!

The snug was absolutely wonderful, just what I needed.

It was very clean, warm, comfortable with a lovely hot shower. Not only that, it had a lot of extra, thoughtful touches that made it a very special place. It was so cosy, relaxing and peaceful. Located in a quiet, scenic place, but also had easy access to some of Cornwalls most beautiful places. The hosts were also extremely welcoming, friendly, relaxed and were on had if needed. I definitely would return for another stay.

Snug Cottage is exactly as it reads on the tin.

A tad difficult to find with the final directions but I think only because we came from an opposite direction but once we passed, turned around and spotted the two garage doors it was fine. Our first impression of the cottage was great, sunshine on the seats outside and a lovely welcome from Kim. As soon as you go in you can tell it was spotless and clean. The owners have thought of everything and the attention to detail and workmanship for the renovation is excellent. We have had a lovely week there 17th - 24th July and were very lucky with the weather. It is in a great spot for getting around to all the lovely places Cornwall has to offer and is near enough walking distance to the Eden Project. Easy to get to Charlestown, St Austell, Mevagissy, Looe, Polperro, Fowey and a simple 50 min drive down to St Ives. Both Snug Cottage and The Barn (which is on the same plot) are immaculate, definitey 5 star ratings :)

it’s in a gorgeous area and being in st Austell, it’s in a great area to travel out to the well known parts of Cornwall. also the hosts are a lovely couple who made every effort to make us feel welcome and ensure that we had everything we needed for our trip! highly recommend either of the properties that they rent out.

Very welcoming & tastefully decorated. It was a little difficult to find at first as there are no signs indicating the whereabouts of the property...the sat nav as well as ourselves were very confused... We had a great holiday however & would thoroughly recommend The Snug

Excellent location for exploring Cornwall. If you are looking for a property that is within walking distance of a local pub then this may not be the property for you. Gary kindly dropped and picked us up so we could go out for dinner - very kind, Thank you.

My Husband and I stayed at The Snug last week, and we were both really impressed with the holiday cottage and the warm greeting and goodbye we got from Kim.

The property was beautifully decorated throughout, and had everything we needed. We were out exploring Cornwall on a daily basis and it was a lovely retreat to get back to after long days out. We went to many places, and would recommend Port Isaac, Land's End, Falmouth, (especially Pendennis Castle and the Ranch Steakhouse & Grill), St Ives, Charlestown, The Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro, Newquay, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Jamaica Inn for wonderful food. You can also just sit out in the courtyard and enjoy the peace and quiet or go for a walk around the lakes at the back of the property. We will be going back for another holiday so we can explore more of Cornwall.

The owners are lovely, nothing too much bother. If self catering all the main supermarkets are within easy reach. Poldark country so much to see and do. May well return next year

The Snug is aptly named but was perfect for two adults who did not want to cook but needed a base.

The owners are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. They have put a great deal of thought into the layout and decoration of this property. We really enjoyed our stay at the Snug.

The snug was just what we were looking for and exceeded our expectations, set in wonderful surroundings, with lots of wildlife and scenery.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful, they were able to recommend some lovely places to visit and eat out etc. It’s also located very central to lots of attractions within Cornwall. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Everything was perfect.

The location was quiet, helped considerably by perfect weather for the week. The cottage was ideal for the two of us with a fully equipped kitchen area and owners present next door. We have only one complaint - your map on your website showing location. Yours took us to Resugga Farm off Hallaze Road, not Lower Resugga Farm in Rescorla about 1/2 mile to the north on another turning off the Penwithick Road. Thank goodness for GPS and Google Maps street view.

Really comfortable well appointed cottage nicely set out in a quiet location.

Had a warm welcome from Kim and Gary who were always happy to stop and have a chat about the day and make suggestions. Didn't get a visit from the deer but had an owl stop by on our last night. Two local pubs within short drives with excellent food although cottage was well equipped for dining in as well. Could easily have spent another week there.

The Snug very much lived up to expectations.

It was very cosy, comfortable and blissfully quiet. We were made very welcome by Kim & Gary, the latter even venturing outside during a major thunderstorm to check up on our wellbeing and being soaked in the process. Not many people are so committed to looking after their guests! A lot of thought had obviously been put into making the Snug ideal for a delightful break in a gorgeous environment.

The Snug was an absolute delight.

Well equipped, cosy and warm. Facilities were excellent. The induction hob & combi cooker were more than adequate for our needs and we cooked some lovely meals while there. The location in Rescorla, down a little lane, was discreet but within easy reach of St Austell and the many other nearby attractions. Eden, Heligan, Charlestown, Fowey are all just a short drive. We went to St Ives, just an hour away, and there is so much to see and do, with the satisfying knowledge you will return to a little sanctuary of calm when you have sated your appetite for exploration. All the major supermarkets are within easy reach so self catering is no effort. The rural setting is just gorgeous. We saw deer from our window and many varieties of birds. The owners, who live in the main house were warm, friendly and helpful, yet unobtrusive. All in all a very satisfying break and cliched it may sound, but we would happily go back. I can highly recommend this lovely little cottage.

We had an amazing stay at the Snug.

It was beautifully decorated with everything you need for a weekend away and the kitchen was perfectly equipped. I’d happily stay there again.
