Vine Cottage

Vine cottage is ideal for relaxing & just getting away from your normal busy life.

We have visited here for a few years now & always enjoy our stay. The wildlife is great to watch & be entertained by. The welcome pack is really love!y & so very thoughtful especially after our long journey from Norfolk. We love visiting Mevagissey & Heligan Gardens, Lobbs shop at Heligan is also a must. We can't wait to be back at the cottage again next year

Cottage was quite difficult to find as post code does not take you there.

Cottage is accessed by a narrow track which would not be suitable for all vehicles. The Cottage itself is clean and spacious. The setting is quite and peaceful.

Fantastic location, but access should say it is up a track, not a lane, cottage totally devoid of character, no rugs on noisy wooden floor, no cushions, only two pictures on walls, great shower but nothing to put shower gel etc in whilst showering on floor of shower.

Comfortable bed. We would not recommend or go again.

Lovely and warm with stunning views onto farmland with animals and birds to see through the picture window.

Spacious kitchen/ diner/ lounge was perfect for the two of us plus dog. Comfortable beds and sofas, important to those of us with bad backs! All the facilities you need in the Cottage which was perfectly positioned for the things we wanted to see and the quiet seclusion suited us perfectly. Welcome pack of cream tea, milk and bread was a lovely touch. All in all we decided we’d love to go back .

We had a great stay at Vine cottage.

It was the perfect base for our Cornwall holiday. Our children loved seeing all the animals outside the cottage each morning. Will also kindly showed us round the farm which was a great experience for the kids to see the animals up close and the vehicles of a working farm. The cottage was great for a family of four and the spacious off road parking was an advantage .

A beautiful setting, so peaceful, yet with ever changing views of farmland.

Vine Cottage is very spacious and extremely comfortable. The little touches like the welcome pack makes such a difference. A great position as a base too, easy access to so many beautiful beaches and other places of interest.

Fabulous place so easy to find yet it feels very isolated.

The cottage is in a lovely, rural spot & had everything we needed.

We had a wonderful time, (helped by the nice weather).

All you look out on is the rolling countryside, with sheep, horse, squirrels and of course Trevor and his family. Very easy to find and in a good position to see the south of Cornwall. Thankyou for the produce left as a welcome pack. We will be back sometime in the future. Thankyou again, lovely place to stay.

Lovely cottage in a quiet setting, away from it all.

View of over fields and hills is great to wake up to. The cottage is comfortable, and has all you need for your stay. Easy to get to lots of nice places, and the coast, and not far to shops, restaurants, take aways etc..

It was a very nice place to stay, if I was being picky.

Better outdoor lighting would be helpfull in the winter months, other than that it was spot on, the peacocks came to see us, the horse came to say hello, very nice , very happy, thankyou.

The main bedroom would benefit from a blackout blind being fitted and a few different cooking dishes.

We loved our stay at Vine Cottage, quiet, calm and peaceful surroundings with the occasional visit from the farm animals was great for my daughter.

The cottage was clean, facilities were perfect for post-beach days and home cooking too. Would happily stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Vine Cottage.

It was very clean and a great space. The beds were comfortable and the shower was brilliant. The addition of farm animals coming up to the fence, including 4 lovely peacocks was a bonus. It is situated in a peaceful farm environment and is the perfect place to unwind.

Lovely cottage, well equipped for a few days stay.

Definitely in a quiet spot, the only noise being from the beautiful peacocks that came to welcome us each day!

The garden was supposed to be enclosed or secured.

It was neither. Our poor dog had to be on a lead constantly. We had hoped to give him a bit of freedom in the garden. This was our biggest disappointment. He has to be on a lead in public, but we had hoped to let him off the lead in private. The driveway to the cottage was rough, to say the least. I wish we had been warned it would be so pitted. My husband's car is much lower to the ground than mine and would not have made it up the driveway. The electrical point behind the bed in the twin room is hanging off the wall and is dangerous. It was like that when we arrived. The peacocks were noisy during the day and also the night. It kept us awake on a few nights. On top of that we found that the beds and sofas were uncomfortable for us, but that's just personal preference. Others may find them more comfortable. Perhaps a few cushions may assist? The view, however, was fantastic. We all really enjoyed that. It was nice to have the cattle and sheep come almost to the house.

We had a lovely stay at Vine Cottage.

It was peaceful and so relaxing to watch the livestock grazing. Visits from Trevor the peacock and the young peacocks, kept us entertained. The shower was amazing. The cottage is well situated for visiting various places. We even had some good weather. Great place to stay, we would highly recommend.

A wonderful, peaceful property in beautiful, farmland countryside.

Loved waking up to grazing brown cows under those shady oak trees plus sheep, horse and not forgetting Trevor + his fine friends. An amazing welcome, cream tea pack (plus coffee + loaf) awaited us. Good central position for walking and visiting Lost Gardens of Heligan and local beaches. A wonderful week. Thank you.

Really good base for Fowey, Mavagissey, Charlestown, Lost Gardens & Eden project we loved the cottage, warm welcome, so spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean also with the farm location we were entertained by the animals and birds in the fields enjoyed every moment

A lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings.

A generous welcome of goodies and helpful hosts make this a wonderful place to stay with easy access to all parts of Cornwall. Not that you need to go far as there is plenty to watch just outside the window!

Beautiful well equipped cottage in a rural area but nothings to far in a car.

We spent Christmas here and it was so relaxing. Daily visits from peacocks, sheep and the horse were magical. We will definitely re book a return visit.

Lovely cottage on a working farm.

Very peaceful and relaxing setting . The cottage was very clean with excellent facilities and the owner even supplied a welcome pack of food essentials. Perfectly placed for visiting all of Cornwall. Highly recommended.

The Vine cottage was beautiful and peaceful and worth the stay.

The scenery was beautiful and it was lovely seeing the cows and sheep close up as well. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and also Trevor the peacock, who greeted us when we arrived. As we both suffer a litle with our backs, a few cushions would have been appreciated, both for the sofas, and outdoor seats, but did not distract from a very enjoyable stay.

Trev was a joy and quite entertaining! The visiters book was full, could do with a replacement.

Pros: The cottage was clean The hospitality of the owners was marvellous.

The location is stunning. Cons: The lane leading to the premises is appalling. Need a 4X4. The mattresses are dreadful. What are the Peacocks doing there? They kept us awake all night.

Lovely cottage which suited us perfectly.

Wonderful quiet location with beautiful views of primrose laden lanes. Will was incredibly helpful and we would definitely like to stay here again.

Fabulous accommodation.

Off the beaten track which is just what we were looking for - but close to the coast and the Lost Gardens of Helligan. Great.

We were very pleased with the welcome pack The cottage was lovely where we spent most of the holiday because of illness We were entertained by the peacocks and the daily visits of all the animals and the views were great

Whilst the cottage was in a lovely remote spot and the cleanliness was very good, I was disappointed with the outside area.

The pictures on booking showed this to be very neat and tidy and it wasn't at all. The grass was very overgrown and weeds everywhere including lots of nettles. I didn't want to moan while we were there as we wanted to just enjoy our break but it did put us off using the outdoor area. I was told that if I had mentioned this to the owner it would have been sorted but I really don't think you should have to mention it when you pay £1000 for a four star accommodation. My garden at home is always neat and I don't have paying guests to come and stay. Overall It was a lovely holiday and this is a minor niggle but was disappointed and we won't be returning.

It was a very pleasant stay Will the owner was very helpful and gave us plenty of ngo about Trevor the Peacock who entertained us with his magnificent tail feathers

If you require a very relaxing break you cannot do better than stay in this very comfortable cottage.

Very cosy and warm -a little piece of heaven!We have been here three times now and it never disappoints.Trevor the resident peacock is always there to welcome you and his displays are just fabulous.Please don’t change anything.

Great location, peaceful and restful.

Owners were friendly and the cottage was well equipped. Great to have the freezer for the dog raw food, so we could continue his usual feeding whilst on holiday. Zeus was fascinated by the peacocks.

Vine cottage is a modern, comfortable barn conversion in a peaceful setting and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Sarah and Will were very welcoming and left us a wonderful welcome pack to enjoy. Loved watching the lambs, peacocks and squirrels from the decking. So much to see and do in the area without having to travel far. Hope to stay again and would definitely recommend.

A comfortable and peaceful place to stay

Need bigger pillows as they were to flat and the headboard of the bed is uncomfortable when sitting up watching tv.

The Wi-Fi wasn’t great and perhaps this could be stated in the listing. Overall a lovely place to stay with countryside views and the two Trevor’s (Peacocks) were entertaining to watch. Good selection of goodies left as a welcome pack. Will was very helpful and a fab host and couldn’t of done enough to help us have a good stay.

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful setting.

Definitely recommend if you are wanting to get away from it all. The track to the cottage is a little rough and ready but you need to accept this as you are living on a working farm. One thing that would help would be to have the farm name on both sides of the entrance as we got a bit lost trying to find the place other than that we could find no fault and if we ever stay in Cornwall again we would stay at Vine Cottage.

An amazing bolt hole away from the rat race!

The location is remote, tranquil and top of our list of places to stay. The owners are friendly and make you feel immediately at home, even providing some lovely local goodies on arrival (yum!)

We had a lovely short break at Vine Cottage trying to avoid the fireworks.

We had a stress free holiday and so did our border collie. It was lovely, clean and cosy. The welcome pack was fabulous and totally unexpected being as we were only there 3 nights! We enjoyed the views across the fields, the cheeky squirrels and the peacocks. The Autumn weather was quite kind too overall, so thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lanes can be daunting if you have a big car but the location more than made up for it! Would definitely consider staying again if in the area.

A very well stocked and comfortable cottage in a lovely quiet location.

Not far from Mevagissey or St Austell. There was a large ‘pot hole’ at the beginning of the track leading to the lane that led us to the cottage which needs attention especially if you have not got a 4 x4!

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

The cottage was immaculately clean and well equipped. It was a very peaceful location. The peacocks kept our dog awake the first night which led to a restless night, but apart from that we didn't really notice them. The bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing! I loved the 'smart' bathroom mirror. We would love to return.

Lovely to have tea, coffee, milk, bread and a cream tea on arrival!

Cottage was warm, clean and welcoming and the peacocks, cattle and sheep made excellent neighbours. If I was being really picky I'd add a few leaflets for local things to do on a wet day, but it didn't bother us as we are out walking whatever the weather.

The track to farm and cottage was very rutted and potholed.

Future customers should be made aware of this.

This cottage is a little gem hidden away in a quiet peaceful locality.

We have just spent another great week at Vine Cottage.

The welcome basket was much appreciated. This year we had our ten month old grandson with us and he thoroughly enjoyed himself as we all did. It is such a peaceful place, lovely patio and parkland views. Inside the cottage is very comfortable. The weather was also great, sunshine all week. We hope to be back again next year.

Ideal get away property no noise apart from the peacock who visited every day, well appointed and a nice little welcome pack.

A little bit difficult to find and the farm entrance could do with a bigger sign as we missed it first time and had to back track. But apart from this really nice spot and handy for touring.

Vine cottage is a very well appointed barn conversion, finished to a good spec.

Large, spacious rooms, very clean with everything needed for a great holiday. Location is good for exploring the area. The only constructive feedback would be to change the seating as the chesterfields are not very comfortable. Lovely welcome package.

Gorgeous cottage set in a peaceful location.

We instantly felt at home and didn’t want to leave! The owners were lovely and thought of everything to make us feel welcomed (clotted cream scones and tea were honestly the best welcome gift!). Little touches that made sure their guests had essentials upon arrival were really kind. Great family holiday home (we were family of 4 with a dog). The cottage was immaculate and well equipped. Couldn’t fault the cottage, would definitely recommend and will be returning ourselves.

Perfect place to stay.

First time in Cornwall and it really made us love it. Narrow roads every now and then shows driving skills. The cottage is perfect. The road to it is somewhat bumpy. The animal live is great to see and enjoy, directly off the veranda. There are some peacocks running around and they love to play with themselves in the reflection of your dark shiny car. Luckily the owner supplied a cover for your car to protect it.

Well equipped modern little cottage.

Finished to a high standard. Good quality beds and furnishings. Washing machine, dish washer, cooker, microwave, crockery, cutlery, bread, milk, tea, coffee, scones, Cornish butter, clotted cream & homemade jam all waiting for us. Even a vase of flowers on the table. Simply lovely. Beautiful views from the cottage- not a house in sight, just fields of sheep, cows and friendly peacocks. 2 pieces of advice for customers: 1) follow the directions given for getting there! We know the area pretty well and struggled to find it 2) take the drive slowly. It is perfectly situated for Heligan, Mevagissey and Goran Haven.

Great place to stay really peaceful, comfortable & nice scenery.

We all enjoyed seeing the cows & sheep in the fields & the resident Peacock 'Trevor' kept our 2 year old grandson entertained. Plenty of attractions & beaches within easy reach, something to please everyone. A very warm welcome from the owners with tea, coffee, sugar, milk & Cornish cream tea supplied.

it was a lovely relaxing get away.

Peacocks walking about and showing off there feathers,also a pheseant named Phill runs across the field to meet you so funny just like the road runner.

The cottage was fantastic and was ideally placed to visit all of the near by places.

I would definitely book the cottage again next year. Definitely a 10/ 10 rating.

My partner and I enjoyed our final trip away before having our first baby and would highly recommend Vine Cottage to all.

We had a great week in Vine Cottage which was extremely well set up and very comfortable.

We had not stayed in this area before so this was to be close to areas of Cornwall we did not know too well. We loved Vine Cottage but have decided we prefer the north coast which is where we have been going for the past 40+ years. The only criticism of Vine Cottage was minor in that there could have bee more crockery and cutlery. This was however a very minor complaint, easily rectified by the owners, but the overall impression was that there was little else that could be improved upon! Put this cottage on the north coast and we'd never go anywhere else!
