Philip “Unfortunately our stay at the Pond Cabin was not a good one.”
The cabin is set amongst trees, not as in the photo, so lights are required on all the time. My wife is disabled and we are both elderly so found the bed, settees and toilet extremely low. The toilet seat was faulty as it kept sliding off of the rim of the toilet. When I reported this it was already known about but did not solve the problem. So I offered to change the seat. As the toilet was narrow it took several hours to find a merchant with a suitable seat and took most of a day to right this problem. I was reimbursed for the seat. Anybody who finds it difficult to get up from a low position should be made aware of this situation at the cabin.
We’re so sorry you didn’t have a good stay. Regarding the toilet seat, the guest did tell us about the problem and we offered to tighten it immediately, but he said he had fixed it himself. The following day he then rang whilst I was out and said it was still not secure and he offered to get a replacement. I said I was passing a builders merchant and could get a new one whilst I was out, but he insisted he could get a replacement. We then refunded him the cost of the seat he purchased. I got the impression he wanted to do the repair, but we would have been more than happy to replace that same day to avoid putting him out. We apologise that you struggled with the low seating. The cabin isn’t designed to be fully accessible and we don’t advertise it as such, but we are happy to change the description to make this clearer. Light levels wise, we feel the photos are accurate, the cabin is set in mature gardens, but most reviews find this charming and part of the attraction of the rural setting. Apologies again that you did not enjoy your stay. Property Owner

The property
An idyllic tranquil spot, this cute log cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway.
Sitting within 2.5 acres of lush gardens with a rippling stream and leisurely walks it is tucked away from the owners' residence overlooking a picturesque pond.
The property sits in the tiny hamlet of Tretheague Mill, just a mile from the village of Stithians and within a few miles of Falmouth with its modern art, museums, cappuccinos and cocktails.
The town has a vibrant feel with the vast harbour forming a dramatic backdrop.
Super yachts, dinghies, cruise ships and even the odd battle ship vie for space and we recommend hopping on a boat trip from the town quay to take in the spectacle.
With regular excursions around the Carrick Roads, to Truro or the delightful village of St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula, there are plenty of options. For quintessential Cornwall, head to the villages of Helford Passage and Helford; linked by a passenger ferry these little gems are best explored on foot.
Also within a short drive are the spectacular sub-tropical gardens at Trebah, Glendurgan and Trelissick; some of Cornwall's finest.
The villages of Stithians, Perranwell and Ponsanooth are nearby with shops, inns and restaurants.
Visit the Lakeside Restaurant and sample some of the delicious local cuisine and then take a wander around the lake or try your hand at sailing or windsurfing at the water sports centre. The wood clad interior has been cleverly designed with a truly comfortable sitting room with squashy sofas ready to snuggle up together.
The dining area opens to a functional kitchen with an electric 2 ring hob built into a small freestanding oven.
The harmony of stylish furnishings and fabrics blend cleverly with the outside environment to create a warm, inviting ambience that will appeal to honeymoon couples and those seeking romance. Enjoy the beautiful views over open countryside from the pretty patio and garden, where you can relax with a chilled drink on the benches dotted around or dine alfresco in the sunshine, relax and soak up this very special holiday home.
For groups of up to four adults Pond Cabin can be booked with Pond Cottage (next door).
