Amazing space.

It is a great size with loads of storage. Comes with a superb kitchen that is well stocked with utensils and equipment. Garden is nice and secure for dogs. Proximity to South West coastal path is amazing, also you can easily walk to Tintagel for shops or fish and chips. We saw some reviews talk about privacy. Honestly we didn’t feel overlooked, only the kitchen window faces the owners property, the rest are the entrance way or garden. Yes the entrance is in use by the owners (including vehicles like horse boxes) but it did not bother us. The property that adjoins the garden (not the owners) does have some very vocal dogs who piped up when we went in the garden. Again, this didn’t bother us as we only used the garden for our dog who ignored next door. If you wanted to spend time sitting in the garden then I can see this would be annoying - though this isn’t something the owners of this property can do anything about! Overall we loved our stay and would definitely come back.

Property was beautiful, clean and people were friendly.

However the sinks, bath and showers were very slow to drain away and there was smell coming from the drain outside of front door. There wasn't any comfortable garden furniture to use, it was overgrown and one seat appeared broken. When booking we wanted somewhere our dogs could come and for us to be able to relax, unfortunately our dogs were constantly on edge because of a number of dogs at the neighbours property constantly barking at the fence between. Also the owners appeared to have several dogs of their own that also came barking at the fence to the garden area we had access to. Also when booking we did understand that it was a working farm, but didn't expect to be right at the main gate that was in constant use by tractors, vans, horses, people etc. It was far to busy for us to relax and we felt we had no privacy. Because of all of the above we cut short our holiday to return home 3 days early.

Wonderful location, we loved leaving the car at the property and go for great coastal walks from the door step.

Great location for visiting places and has everything you need for your holidays. The owners and family are great and closeby for any help. Could not fault a thing.

A wonderfully comfortable, well equipped property within easy reach of coast, moor and places to visit, including several stunning NT gardens and houses.

We would have been helped by the addition of some non wonkey cutlery. That is our only criticism. We would love to come again. A most beautiful, spacious barn conversion. Thank you. Ruth and John.

Loved the cottage!

In summer the bedrooms could benefit from some fans etc as it gets really stuffy, but it's a beautiful spot and if we come back to cornwall or if we have friends i'm definitely recommending this place!

This is a lovely well thought out barn conversion.

It had everything you needed and in a wonderful location. When we arrived after a long journey, we were greeted with a lovely basket of scones and everything for a cream tea. We would definitely recommend this accommodation and give it five stars.

Superbly stylish and comfortable cottage just a short stroll from Tintagel.

One of the best Sykes properties we've stayed at. Hosts were very friendly and left a lovely scone cream tea. Easy access to the superb coastal walks and stunning views. Also nearby to Rocky Valley, St Nectar's Glen and of course Tintagel Castle. Atlantic Highway (A39) close by which gives access to Bude, Wadebridge, Padstow etc. Highly Recommended.

Andy and Claire were there on arrival because they were fixing something that a previous holiday maker had damaged and that set the tone for what a brilliant holiday let the property was.

They were the perfect blend of being available if needed but distant enough to not encroach. We arrived to scones and the property was immaculately clean and so comfortable, with the massage chair a particular favourite for my son. Centrally located, secure garden for the dog and a great base. Really happy and no complaints. Thank You for a wonderful stay.

The property was amazing, built and maintained to the highest possible standard.

It had all the 'mod cons' you could want and it was extremely well equipped. The bed was particularly comfortable (better than our own!) The owners were helpful and friendly. We have just one small suggestion. The outside area was in shade in the evening and the dog next door objected to us being there. A small seated area at the front in the evening sun would have been a bonus.

The cottage is in a convenient location and is of excellent quality.

The owners live next door and were very helpful with any questions or problems. It is well equipped to make self catering easy. The sofas are a bit 'tired' but overall it is the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in and highly recommend it.

The Hideaway is a warm and welcoming home just the right distance from central Tintagel to walk to.

Very quiet and peaceful setting with plenty of walks close by. The house itself has all the amenities you would ever need. We found it a very relaxing space.

Stunning Holiday Property, We’ve just returned from a week ‘s stay at the Hideaway.

It is absolutely beautiful and extremely well equipped. It has everything you need and much much more, stunning interior, beautiful bathrooms and it’s spotless! Really lovely welcome from the owners with fresh scones, jam and cream. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend it.

This property was absolutely top of the range.

It was spacious, with plenty of storage, and had everything you could possibly think of needing. The beds and sofas were comfortable and all fittings and appliances were top quality. It is tucked away off the road in a quiet little village, but just a short walk from Tintagel, with easy access to the South West Coastal Path. There was a safe and enclosed garden for the dog - or children. I loved the large utility room, and generous drying room off it. One of the best properties we’ve visited. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

The Hideaway is an excellent place to stay.

It is very comfortable and spacious. I simply cannot fault anything with this property and will recommend to all friends. The Hideaway is a short walk to the beautiful rugged coastline and the shops, pubs, bus stops are a short walk away. We simply loved it!

The property is very spacious, comfortable and very well equipped.

It is situated a short walk away from the centre of Tintagel where you can find several pubs and cafe’s. There is access to the coast path almost directly opposite the property entrance so perfect for walkers. The only downside for us was that the property is very dark inside.

Perfect in every way except for the nylon waterproof sheets on the second room bed.

Really spacious, comfortable and welcoming. Hideaway is a lovely property; so well maintained, a real home from home, with all the creatures comforts you could wish for. The setting is peaceful and the location ideally placed for exploring.

Had a fantastic weeks holiday, with the family for my birthday and we couldn’t fault the owners very friendly and helpful.

Lovely welcome pack being cream teas, my husband and girls loved them. We ended up staying an extra night after traveling back from st Ives. Great for traveling around the coast. Beautiful cottage. Would definitely stay again. Thank you

Hideaway is absolutely stunning, so much thought and detail has been put into it by the owners, it is a luxury home from home.

We took two dogs who loved it here in the safe enclosed garden, although one was a bit scared of the horses that go by regularly! The location is perfect for exploring the north coast, we had several hikes around Boscastle, st nectans glen and the coastal path and it was always a pleasure to return to Hideaway for a long soak in the huge bath! We had a rather wet week in July so the underfloor heating was very welcome on a few occasions. Can’t wait to return

We had a lovely stay at the hideaway, relaxing and comfortable.

Lovely spacious family area, well equipped with everything you could need. Would highly recommend and the welcome scones on arrival were lovely.

Although it didn’t bother us as we are early risers, I think it would be helpful for others to know before they book that there are cars, horse boxes and horses coming and going from about 7am onwards into the yard, and pass the property lounge area within inches.

We would, however, highly recommend this property, and would not hesitate to return again in the future. We have been holidaying in Cornwall for 35 years, and this beautiful property is definitely in our top 3 for places we have stayed.

Hideaway is perfect for a relaxed holiday. Ideally located for coastal walks. It is well equipped and has everything you need. Garden is great for the dogs.. oh and humans. Lovely walks to Trebarwith Strand and of course Bossiney Cove. Thanks Claire

Lots of plusses for this property.

It is spacious and comfortable and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. Fully enclosed garden which is great for dogs. The location is brilliant for coastal walks and Tintagel. You can see a lot of beauty without moving the car. Also very quick to travel to Port Issac and Padstow and many other classic Cornish places. The only downsides are the place could do with a once over as a few things were broken (fridge and dishwasher drawers) and there were a few lights out and mouldy clothes left in the wardrobe which smelt. Also relaxing in the garden was difficult due to the neighbouring dogs barking and rattling the fence whenever you were there. Hopefully these things could get sorted as they did let an otherwise good property down.

Fabulous place.

We have stayed in a lot of properties and we always give them our own rating. Hideaway has jumped right to the top of our list! Well equipped, immaculately clean, very warm and cosy. Well positioned to access beaches, coastal path walks and lots of local eateries. This is our first visit to this area but we will definitely return and stay here again. Great to be able to bring both our little dogs with us as well. Thank you to the owners for providing such a wonderful place.

Second time staying at this location.

Always lovely and spacious. Well equipped and swift to respond if things need adjustments. Only thing not liked are the artificial topiary balls outside. Past their best and not required.

The property is well appointed for walking into Tintagel, local amenities, the local area and very easy access to coastal walks. Hideaway is of a high standard and is the best holiday cottage we have stayed in (and we have stayed in a lot!!). We hope to stay again :) :) For us, and our Cairn terrier, this property is superb

Fantastic cottage with everything anyone could have asked for.

Location was perfect and quiet within walking distance of Tintagel. The cottage had every facility that we could have hoped for and more! The utility room was ideal for drying all of our shoes and clothes after a fantastic day walking the coastal paths. Absolutely lovely and would definitely return and recommend to anyone!

Excellent facilities, great position for coast path, all round brilliant place to stay.

Lots of great areas are easily accessible: Bodmin Moor, Boscastle, Tintagel all very close, but surfing/watersports beaches at New Polzeath and Daymer Bay are not far away. I cook all our meals on holiday, so the property was excellently equipped and you could never run out of mugs. Boiling water tap was very useful for making hot drinks. Everything was brilliant, thank you.

House was beautiful and very at home here. Felt sad to go home! Not a long walk into Tintagel and not far from the coast. Mattress was a bit uncomfortable bit too firm for us. We had the dog with us and she made herself at home straight away! Plenty of information left to read up on. Would return definitely.

I was at Hideaway in march with some girlfriends and returned last week with my partner and year old pup .

It was amazing . Great area for the pup for off lead walks . Very dog friendly area . I would always stay here if I was coming to the area . Beautiful house . Lovely and tasteful . Sharp knives and amazing saucepans . Very comfortable beds . Thank you Andrew and Claire ❤️

Was a lovely touch with the the cream tea that was ready for us when we arrived. Far to many places to visit in the week we spent there. Andrew & Clare were on hand if we ever needed anything. Thank you Only 1 minor drawback the mattress was too firm for me and my arthritic back, I should have brought a memory foam topper with me might be an idea to have one on site. Other than that perfect!

Hideaway is a fabulous property maintained to an extremely high standard.

Every detail for the comfort of staying in a holiday cottage had been thought of. The cottage was spotlessly clean. The cottage is well appointed on the edge on Tintagel with easy access to the town, coastal walks and is central to many places in North Cornwall. The owners live on site and are very friendly. There is nothing we could say that was bad about our stay - except that we had to leave! We would love to stay again and would highly recommend - Thank you !!!! :)

This was our second visit to Hideaway and it was as good as we remembered it.

Spacious, very comfortable and extremely well equipped. Ideal base for exploring the beautiful north Cornwall coast.

This is by far the nicest holiday cottage we have stayed in and we have stayed in a lot over the years.

The Hideaway is in a great location within easy reach of Tintagel and of the beautiful coastal path. It is cosy and modern with well thought through design and it is exceptionally well equipped, the fact that the owners built this property for themselves to live in is testament to the detail they have put into the property and their passion for the build is obvious when you talk with them. We loved staying here and will certainly look to come back later this year or early next.

The cottage was immaculate and the facilities were very generous for us and our two dogs.

The reason I would not recommend you is because, the holiday cost in total £703.

Next year, same week £1745 talk about greed. Next year if the prices dont come down, I will sit in the back garden and hope there are a lot like me who do the same. By the way the hideaway is lovely and peaceful (second time this year) and hope to go back one day, but not at these prices.

This is a really top quality holiday home and the location is excellent for visiting all the sights and 5 minutes to the coastal path.

Mr Caress - Spalding Lincolnshire- May 2021 We have stayed at 4 Sykes cottages now and Hideaway was by far the best .

When we arrived there was a very welcoming treat left out for us on the table , a Cornish cream tea . As for the property itself , it is very clean and comfortable and they have pretty much thought of everything. The kitchen area was very well kitted out , not short of anything we needed. We very much liked the rain shower in the en suite bedroom. There was plenty of room to park our car . The location is very good, half a mile from Tintagel , also close to ‘ Saint Nectans glen ‘ which has a very nice waterfall and you can follow the stream right the way down to the sea . Boscastle is very much worth a visit and probably my favourite place in the area . The scenery on the North Cornwall coast is breathtaking and we will definitely be back

The enclosed lawn space was great for our dog, could just let him outside without worry.

Just got back from a great week at the hideaway firstly the place was absolutely spotless which in a barn conversion with high beams one may have had the odd cobweb but not a single one!

Firstly the cottage itself and the family who we wanted from were fantastic.

The cottage is more a barn conversion with beautiful furnishings and facilities. Absolutely gorgeous. The family welcomed us warmly and were on hand for any issues. The village is a 10 minute walk from Tintagel which is for convenience. That said Bossiney is a quite village and you'll have to drive to get anywhere with more variation. The Cove is a gorgeous find but you need to be able bodied to walk the path down and up. You aren't far from Bude, Boscastle is only a couple of miles away and a lovely place to visit. But this is same with any holiday. You find places along the way. Summary, fantastic accommodation and family owners, nice village but quiet. Which isn't a bad thing, just have to drive about a bit. Would hope to go back next year perhaps. Thanks.

The hideaway was absolutely beautiful, had everything there you could need, was so clean and cosy, top furnishings, the owners were lovely and friendly and helpful, great position, only a small walk to the high street where there are lovely little shops and a great choice of pubs that serve great food, walking distance to tintagel castle, cannot fault the hideaway at all, worth every penny, wish we could live there

I had a great Holiday the holiday was excellent and place amazing , we would definitely book again to go to this place .

I must admit after hearing lots of people unable to contact you regarding having to cancel holidays due to Covid19 I am unsure whether to book with you again as I say its hard to gain a good reputation but easy to gain a bad one and I think you need to look into your customer services in future . I know difficult times .

Great location to explore the north cornwall coast.

The Hideaway had everything we needed and even things we didn't know we needed

Lovely property to stay in, was decorated for christmas which was nice a cream tea was all laid out for us on arrival which was a lovely touch!

Had a bit of trouble at first getting TV to work but this was dealt with promptly by clare {the owner} so no problem there. The only downside was my wife was feeling poorly all week so we would love to go back to appreciate it more.

Marvelous, luxurious holiday home, our second visit.

This was our first self catering holiday (we usually cruise) therefore did not know what to expect.

Accommodation was excellent comfortable and nothing left to chance. Good location and moreover pet friendly which was a plus. The accommodation was adjacent to a working stable which some may find intrusive. We own horses ourselves however so this was no hardship.

Beds very comfortable and the kitchen was amazing with pantry and a huge utility area with plenty of storage. Cream tea was all set up and waiting for us. Lovely touch. Quiet location but close enough to walk into Tintagel. Would recommend the Olive Garden for dinner and Nectans Glen Waterfall!

Also, the location was ideal for all the costal walks around Tintagel.

Lots of activity (vehicles etc) and noise, disturbed early on most mornings !.

Hideaway was a perfect home from home - beautifully fitted out with everything you'd need, cosy, warm and well laid out.

The owners, Claire and Andrew, were very friendly and available - and it was a pleasure to watch them with the horses. The SW coastal path with stunning views is literally on the doorstep, although the hike down to the beach wouldn't be suitable for those with very young children. There are plenty of pubs and delicious pasty shops half a mile away in Tintagel, although the castle is closed until June 2019.

Luxury at it's best. Claire and Andrew are most welcoming and I cannot think of a bad word in any respect. If you stay at Hideaway you will not be disappointed. We've stayed there twice and I'm just about to book again!

We had a great holiday at Hideaway.

Spotlessly clean, excellent facilities and location and cream tea laid out for us when we arrived. Can’t recommend highly enough. I forgot my phone charger when we left and Claire kindly posted it to me.

The cottage was the best equipped we have ever stayed in and most likely the best equipped we could ever find for holiday lets.

The actual cottage was beautiful, the kitchen area boasting solid granite worktops throughout, full under floor central heating, even the main bedroom had an en suite shower room. It was perfect for us, and our dogs had plenty of room. Nothing missing in the cottage and the location was also good. The cottage is not far from the beach and it was an easy walk to the nearest town (Tintagel) that was well served with places to eat, a couple of them being very good indeed. Would definitely book this again BUT there are so many places we have not visited yet!

Claire and Andrew the proprietors of the Hideaway are very friendly and gave us some tips on things to do in the area which was great, it was peaceful and we will definitely be back, and the cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch

a nice quiet location within easy reach of most facilities, the accommodation was first class we did like the kind gesture of the cream tea waiting on are arrival, just what was required after a long journey. Clare Andrew & family were very friendly. I would certainly recommend this holiday.

The location of the cottage was perfectly located near Tintagel and provided easy access to local shops/pubs/restaurants.

It was also well placed for trips in the area - to really appreciate the Cornish coastline. The cottage itself was exceptional and we could not have asked for anything more. The owners had given every consideration to our needs and there was absolutely nothing to worry about. Sykes were also very competent and helpful and supported us through various stages of booking and made things very simple, which was great. So, if anyone reads this, our experience is that Sykes would be an excellent company to deal with when booking a cottage/holiday.
