    “Terrible damp and leak.”

Uninterested and rude owner when he finally spoke to us on last day. Numerous days of the holiday interrupted by workmen. House not that clean but we could have put up with this if not for the other issues. two rooms totally out of commission and unable to use the back garden for several days due to workmen in the area, particularly not great with a dog. If the house was not ready for rental we should have been notified in advance and offered refund or alternatives. Both Sykes and landlord very ...

The owner was very disappointed to read your feedback. The leak was behind the dishwasher and was fixed immediately. The property owner did ask for permission to attend, and was on-site and available to assist you. Property Owner

The property

A beautiful semi-detached cottage resting in the quaint village of Crantock in Cornwall, Trevethen Cottage is a wonderful retreat for a large family or group of eight.

Enjoy being able to park up opposite the property in your private parking space, before taking in the charming exterior and heading inside; find the homely sitting room to be the place to relax after a day of exploration, with two sofas in here, one of which being a large corner sofa, to sink into, with a TV to watch on a quiet evening and a working open fire.

A formal dining room offers a fabulous spot for a family feast, with beautiful parquet flooring beneath and a feature fireplace adding grandeur, you can look forward to catching up with your loved ones over delicious meals.

Prepare your snacks and food in the country kitchen, reached down the hall and up three steps, it boasts lovely pale green fitted units with every appliance you need, as well as a washing machine placed perfectly on the first-floor landing.

Opposite the kitchen is the ground-floor bedroom, with bunk beds in here it makes a great choice for kids or a member of the group less able, with a ground-floor shower room to serve it.

Step out into the multi-level garden on sunny days, with an outdoor shower near the side entrance so you can come straight from the beach and wash off the sand, as well as a kennel for your four-legged friend, whilst steps lead up to the raised patio with bench seating for all to dine alfresco and a lovely summerhouse with two day beds in, sure to be a fun spot for children to play!

Enter the first floor from the walkway leading from the raised patio or head up the internal stairs and discover three remaining bedrooms, with a lovely double room complete with an en-suite bathroom, a further double with an en-suite shower room and views over to the church, and finally a triple bunk room with a double below and a single on top.

Upon waking, make your way from the house and straight down onto Crantock Beach where you can enjoy a beautiful morning stroll along the waters and let the sea air wake you up, with the long stretch of golden sands being a much quieter and tranquil spot than other more popular beaches over in Newquay, although still excellent for swimming and surfing.

The charming village of Crantock is a perfect base for exploring the northern Cornish coast, with easy access onto the South West Coast Path providing a simple way to experience breath-taking scenery and coming across more wonderful villages and beaches, like Perran Sands Beach, Perranporth, and the St Agnes Heritage Coast.

Keen surfers will want to try out the incredible surf at Fistral Beach where large waves coming from the Cribbar Reef create the perfect conditions to show off your skills, while beginners can get involved too with several surf schools dotted around at all of Newquay's beaches to teach you Cornwall's favourite watersport.

Grab lunch in Newquay choosing from a host of restaurants and pubs to dine in, with some boasting stunning beach views, before heading over to the Blue Reef Aquarium to meet all manner of sea creatures from sharks to turtles and many exotic species, you can catch a diving display or a feeding session for added excitement, great for all ages!

For an evening treat head to Lighthouse Cinema, or sample some cocktails at one of the many bars here.

Newquay Zoo is another fantastic day trip, with Jungle Jack's and Oasis Fun Pools being great ideas for those with smaller children.

Delight in a range of fun from the peaceful haven of Trevethen Cottage in Crantock.
