“A lovely cottage, in an idyllic quiet location.”

Very happy with the facilities and lovely goodies that were left for us. Thank you. I have been visiting Trebarwith Strand for many years, and it’s lovely to know that it hasn’t changed in the intervening years. Remains a very relaxing destination, with a brilliant pub 150 yards from the front door and a welcoming cafe across the road.The wild seascape is wonderful. Visiting in winter is a treat.

“What a location!”

“We had a fantastic week at Gull Rock, very relaxing and with the cafe and pub so close we were spoilt for choice with food and drink.”

The accommodation was as described and there was everything there. It was a perfect holiday. The only downside we had and it could have been our lack of "tech knowledge", but the TV had subtitles and audio description.......drove me nuts as we couldn't remove it!! But it encouraged us to reduce the use of a TV

“Loved this place!”

From the initial contact with the owners with some queries right through to the place and location itself, it was perfect. As a location, you couldn't get much closer to the sea and beach, you can see it from the kitchen and living area windows, with nothing between you and the sea, other than the coastal path. We spent every morning sat with coffee watching the sea in the window in the living area, and will miss that view to wake up to. The apartment itself, was spotlessly clean and well laid out across the ground floor. The attention to detail was brilliant, we took Milly our dog and there was a bed, ball and treats all waiting for her on arrival. Overall, everything had been thought about, meaning we could hit the ground running and enjoy our holiday from day one. Also, fantastic communication throughout the holiday with the owners making sure everything was OK. As a place to stay to explore this part of Cornwall I highly recommend Gull Rock apartment, it's location, and obviously it's proximity to the beach and of course the pub (Port William) were perfect.

“Location, location, location, this place is a hidden gem right next to the beach with the most amazing views.”

The property had everything we needed, it was perfect for a family of 4 plus a dog. Shop, cafe and pub all on the doorstep which were an added bonus. A perfect place to stay for a week away from it all, we’ll be back!

“An absolutely perfect stay.”

Everything we needed .. from a cheese grater to a washing machine! The dishwasher was an added bonus/luxury too :) The property was extremely clean and well maintained. Good, friendly communication from the host too. Only ‘issue’ we found was the internet. It was very sporadic in deciding when it worked, which meant watching TV or communicating with the outside world very difficult (not always a bad thing!). But just something to bear in mind if you planned on watching a series or taking the odd work call/catching up on emails etc. Having said that, it doesn’t put us off from staying again. We can’t wait to return!!

“Had a fantastic stay at Gull rock.”

The apartment was immaculately clean and well presented. It was superbly maintained with everything one could possibly want provided, as well as the welcome goodies....milk, apple juice, cookies, fudge , crisps etc....all very tasty. But most of all was the location. The view from the kitchen and dining room window looking straight out at Gull rock itself is superb. Fantastic private patio where you could spend hours just watching the tide roll in and out. Very friendly neighbour upstairs in the pink palace. Lovely little cafe and surf shop opposite and a nice restaurant just up the hill. What more could anyone wish for.

“A Perfect Coastal Retreat – I Didn’t Want to Leave I stayed at Gull Rock for an entire month (how lucky was I), and honestly, I could have stayed forever.”

Tucked into the stunning cliffs of Trebarwith Strand, this beautiful place gave me exactly what I needed: peace, comfort, and the kind of coastal charm that’s hard to put into words. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed – not just by the host, who is hands-down the best I’ve ever encountered, but by the whole local community. There’s a warmth there, and a real sense of belonging that made me feel like more than just a visitor. The host was exceptional throughout: kind, responsive, and genuinely thoughtful, with fantastic communication both before and during my stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and their care for the property (and their guests) shines through in every detail. The home itself was spotless on arrival – immaculately clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. Whether I was cooking in the kitchen (what a stunning view), reading by the window, or drifting off to sleep to the sound of the waves, everything felt easy and calm. The property is much bigger than it looks, with two decent-sized bedrooms, a family bathroom and a decent en-suite loo/shower room to the main bedroom (with a lovely hot spacious walk-in shower). The private parking space was a real bonus too, especially in a location like this. And the location – what can I say? You’re right on the edge of the wild Cornish coast, with Trebarwith Strand beach just a stone's throw away. I spent hours sitting on the rocks at sunset with my little dog, watching the sea roll in and feeling incredibly lucky to be there. Morning walks, afternoon tides, and salty bacon sandwiches from the lovely Joey at Strand Café became my new daily rhythm – a memory I’ll treasure. Gull Rock gave me a rare kind of stay, not just a holiday, but a full, heart-filling experience. I felt completely at home, utterly restored, and genuinely privileged to have found it. If you’re lucky enough to stay here, take your coffee to the cliffs, your book to the beach, and your time slowly. It’s that kind of place. For those owned by dogs, the garden is enclosed, which was a huge bonus. There is a dog bed, which my little one seemed to love, and a huge water bowl (or food bowl, however you wish to use it). Port William is also five minutes from Gull Rock, which is dog-friendly and has the most incredible Sunday lunches and views. Top Tip: Get down to the beach about forty minutes before the lowest tide, and you get a good couple of hours with the most beautiful sandy beach with caves. Just watch the tide as it can come in fast.

“The property is lovely and couldn't be better situated for people like us who adore Trebarwtih Strand.”

The property accomodates 4 adults in two bedrooms and two bathrooms and is well equipped. The owners communication was excellent with arrival instructions and they responded very quickly to a problem with a dehumidifyer, can't ask for more than that. A suggestion from us would be perhaps 2 x 2 seater sofas in an L shape for the TV rather than the 3 seater and a chair and some better quality cutlery (its a bit small and childlike) but this is only a personal preference. The view from the kitchen window is simply magnificent.

We have had a lovely stay in Gull rock, the cottage was clean and warm the views of the bay was lovely the kitchen was kitted out nicely The only thing that slightly let it down was the movement noise from the flat above as it is an old cottage the floor boards were creaking when people moved about if you can cope with that then you will have a lovely time The tv does not get normal channels as you have to use IPlayer to get any channels which was a let down as it kept dropping out and us not able to watch anything, in the winter months a tv is essential when it goes dark even we took a radio to get music but again being down in the valley doesn’t get any stations it could do with the owner using sky to allow visitors to have that total package but that’s the only negative we can or want to give we really loved our stay thank you

“Gull Rock is clean, modern, stylish and comfortable with the most wonderful sea views.”

I am more than happy to recommend it to friends and family, I just loved sitting by the breakfast reading a book and glancing up a the sea and surfers. Dog friendly too, we arrived too treats, milk, bread etc for us and comfy basket, towel, balls etc for them. There are two large private courtyards available for guests and a parking space just minutes away. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, night lights in bedside tables, two ensuite bathrooms, friendly villagers. Over the road you can buy delicious Cornish ice cream, there's a little cafe and of course The Port William with its amazing views. If you really pushed me to make any recommendations two different 'twirly well padded' bar stools for the picture window would be perfection for those of us who want to sit and chill there for a while. Thank you to the owner's for letting us use your lovely holiday apartment, we tried to leave it as near as possible to how we found it!

It wasn’t long enough! We had the most fantastic weather and tide times were in our favour. The property was a fantastic base was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. “Simply stunning.”

Gull Rock was immaculate and stylish, it had all we needed and the most amazing views. On a sunny day the patio over the rocks with the waves coming in is fabulous. Spent a lot of time out there, even though it was February.Best inside view from kitchen I would say and then the breakfast bar. “Second time we've stayed here and we've booked again for next year, so that speaks volumes.”

We drink coffee on the rocks when the tide is in, take the dog for a walk on the coastal path, eat lunch on the most incredible patio whilst others are queuing to get on the beach, then spend a few hours in an unspoilt beach with the boogie and surf board, before grabbing an ice-cream / beer on the patio watching the sunset before having a pint in the pub, that 1 min away. What's not to love about that?

The views from the property are fabulous. I'd never been to Trebarwith Strand before but will definitely be coming back. There's a dog friendly pub just 2 mins away that serves nice food and has great views. The property was just right for us and our dog. Everything we needed. Having a parking space would be a bonus in the height of season, we parked outside the property as we were there in March. Really close to plenty of nice places/beaches too. Spot on.

Cottage was extremely well appointed and had everything required to ensure a relaxing stay. Very comfortable, spacious and with tasteful decor. Amazing how effective the soundproofing was and did hear not any of the crashing waves at all - although thuds were felt as the wind really picked up and made for spectacular viewing from the patio. The Port William pub was just two minutes walk away and was very welcoming and with good food. Loved every minute of the stay and will definitely return again.

Amazing views. Very comfortable beds. Use of patio with those views was priceless . The beach was very dog friendly which we very much wanted . Excellent well stocked kitchen with everything thought of. Spotlessly clean and very modern. Would recommend to couples and families . No shop locally so just make sure you bring your provisions and you will have a fabulous break.

The one thing I would recommend, but in no way a criticism, would be to get some kind of free sat for the tv. After a day out or on the beach it would be nice to be able to relax watching a bit of TV without watching on catch up or not at all if the wifi drops. The beds and sofa are comfy, the place was spotless with great amenities, but the show stopper is the location! The apartment has incredible views over the sea, and the terrace gives you the best seat in the house every night for stunning sunsets. We literally couldn’t believe our luck to have stayed in such an amazing place. There is a lovely cafe and a nice beach shop, and the pub (which serves great food) is just a couple of minutes walk. We have had many happy years holidays all over Cornwall, but nothing has come even close to Gull Rock for location, comfort and views. We would come back year after year- I can not recommend enough.

“Smashing place to stay, been visiting Trebarwith Strand since the 1990's and have stayed in a few close by accommodations, Gull Rock exceeds all of them, there is no need to go anywhere else once you settle here, lovely apartment with everything you need to prepare meals etc, beds all very comfy and 2 bathrooms a bonus.”

There is a cafe opposite, open in seasonal months, the Port William just above the apartment and the Mill House about half a mile up the road. There is no need to walk far as you are provided with 2 outdoor spaces, great to sit and watch the tides, surfers and people. Can't think of a better place to stay and will be back soon.

“Gull Rock couldn’t have been more perfect for our little get away in October.”

It was super clean, beautifully decorated with all you’d need for a week away. And the location. My goodness, you couldn’t get any better. One the best little beaches on this coast literally on the doorstep and a lovely little surf shop opposite selling yummy local ice cream. The beach isn’t accessible at high tide but that didn’t bother us as. Amazing cliff top walks from the doorstep as well. Communication with the owners was great too. Just perfect. Thank you.

Surf shop and cafe over the road. Pub within stones throw and the roaring sea at your doorstep. It’s impeccably clean, hard to imagine this is dog friendly! Beautifully finished, it’s crazy to think this used to be a donut shop! You would never know. Already planning our return next year. Would highly recommend this to anyone, couples, families and even wheelchair friendly as the house is one level and has its own seating area so no need to struggle down to the beach. Had the best trip with amazing people at my favourite place in the world.

Extra touches made all the difference, dog treats ,dog bed and towel for our dog, for us humans biscuits, bottle of cider and fruit drink along with milk tea and coffee ! The private patio area with table and sun chairs was lovely and the Port William pub at the top of the hill was very convenient as was the small cafe and shop opposite. Overall a lovely place to spend a week. We would recommend a trip to Boscastle and the cliff walk to Tintagel.

“We rent holiday homes several times a year and have being this for a number of years.”

Gull is one of the best we have rented, it is in a wonderful location, with view from inside to the sea plus private outside space where you can sit out and eat or just laze looking at the views. the sea has a wonderful sandy beach when tide is out, for the area you need to be reasonably fit, to get to the sea you have to make your way over the rocks, you have cliff walks either side of the where you stay. a few minutes away is the prince william pub which offers good food and very helpful pleasant staff with outdoor seating looking of the bay. The accomadation at Gull is excellent very clean beautifully dressed lots of thought had been put into making this let very special. It is very relaxing ideal for 2-4 people. The owners met us and ensured we knew where every thing was, making a stressful break.

“Gull Rock is the perfect holiday home for a short or longer break.”

When we arrived the owner welcomed us and showed us around - all very friendly and welcoming. The facilities, décor and general ambience exceeded our expectations and the apartment was very clean. Very easy to move into and move out of quickly and without any fuss which is so important for a short break (we had 4 early April nights) The most brilliant thing is the location - right on the cove and immediately adjoining the rocks and beach at low tide. Not only did the apartment have everything we wanted, the pub is adjacent where a full breakfast is available, a café (in season) and a friendly shop (both directly opposite) the cliff path is outside your door and we walked up to see the fabulous views, so if you want a total rest there is no need to leave! We visited various places all around (book a table a Nathan Outlaw's fabulous fish restaurant in Port Isaac if you want a special treat) take the passenger ferry from Rock to Padstow, drive down the windy lanes to tiny coves - there are endless things to see. The outside space is expansive with direct uninterrupted sea views and we would definitely return for a summer holiday to make the most of all it has to offer. When we arrived home we even had an email from the owner thanking us for leaving everything clean and tidy - what a lovely gesture and a great way to round off a short break! Sykes Cottages booking process is easy and trouble free. The whole experience was truly amazing - we loved it!

The port William pub has great food and staff, Steve was great as they all were and so dog friendly with a jar of doggy biscuits on the bar. The outstanding views from gull rocks terraces from dawn till dusk keep you entertained between people watching and being amazed by the surfers. Stunning walks up craggy outcrops, a challenging walk to Tintagel. Beautiful Boscastle and Port Isaac and so much more. The walk to the Port William pub restaurant 1 min tops,great food and very friendly staff an dog friendly. To say we had a brilliant time is an understatement.

The property is in an amazing location right next to the entrance to the beach with uninterrupted views of the beach and sea. Trebarwith Strand is a small hamlet just 2 miles south west of Tintagel. With just a few dwellings and a country pub, this beach side community provides a great magnet for surfers and coastal path walkers. With majestic scenery, high cliffs and rocky coves to explore it's the perfect holiday retreat, while Tintagel with King Arthur's castle, a selection of cafes and restaurants and an old Post Office is just one mile away over the cliff tops. The area is perfect for exploring the major surfing beaches to the south as well as the open spaces of Bodmin Moor just 10 miles to the east. The major beach resort of Bude is 19 miles away while Boscastle with its quaint harbour and pottery is just 5 miles away. Newquay, the Eden Project and the cathedral city of Truro can all be reached within 60 minutes by car.
