“We had a good week at the cottage my main criticism is that in the living room the throw overs used on the sofas smelled of dog & so did the rug on the floor which was a bit off putting for my young grandchildren.”

Also the wardrobes upstairs had an odour which could be just that the cottage is old but it made my grandchildren’s clothes smell & they all had to be rewashed. I do appreciate that you do rent to people with pets & I may need to consider this when booking. However even though I had a couple of issues above the amenities at the cottage was great. The kitchen was ideal for great family nights & sitting in front of the log burner when watching tv with the kids was a lovely treat. Overall we had a very good week & the location of the cottage was superb.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. The points raised have been discussed and taken on board by the owner. They have already taken action to re-seal the wardrobe, and replace some of the soft furnishings in the lounge. I am glad you had a good week and would love to welcome you back Owner relations

The property

With the sandy beach at Trebarwith Strand a fifteen minute downhill stroll or a few minutes in the car, Parwin offers the perfect base for families and friends looking to enjoy the beaches, coastal walks, and amazing scenery all of which the north Cornish coast has in abundance.

Lifeguarded in the summer months, Trebarwith Strand Beach has a wide expanse of sand at low tide and a surf school, go on have a go!

There are two pubs in the village, the highly regarded Mill House Inn, just a 5 minute walk from the cottage and The Port William Inn which nestles into the cliff overlooking the beach, less than a mile.

There are lots of beaches and coves to explore; watching for crabs and small fish in the rock pools is a great delight.

The north coast is a haven for water based activities with water skiing, sailing, diving and fishing trips available on The Camel Estuary from the village of Rock, approximately 30 minutes by car.

This beautifully presented house is in the hamlet of Treknow just half a mile inland from the rugged coastline between the pretty fishing village of Port Isaac and the legendary Tintagel.

Famous for its castle ruins Tintagel is said to be the birthplace of King Arthur although today it has more of a holiday atmosphere with cafes and curio shops.

Internally Parwin offers a clever mix of contemporary furnishings, pretty fabrics and quirky retro pieces.

With a wood burning stove, the sitting room is warm and cosy in contrast with the light and airy kitchen from which patio doors open to an enclosed, raised sun trap courtyard garden.

The patio courtyard has a drop of 2.5 ft to the BBQ therefore toddlers need supervision.

Each of the four bedrooms is individual in style with two twin bedrooms and two king size bedrooms, one of which has a super wet room style en-suite shower room. As well as beach activities there are also a wealth of options for golfers, from championship coastal courses such as St Enodoc, and Trevose to the likes of Bowood, Lanhydrock and Roserrow which are suitable for all abilities.

About the location

Camelford 6 miles; Wadebridge 12 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the SW Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow and the Camel Estuary are all within a 40-minute drive.
