    “We recently stayed here.”

On first impression the cottage seemed cosy. We didnt have heating the first night but understand this was an unexpected issue and was sorted by Sally the caretaker extremely quickly. Sally was amazing our whole trip l. However there are alot of issues that need fixing l. Firstly you cannot cook in the kitchen as the smoke alarm goes off every time you open the oven or use the hob and is too high to turn off. There is a leak in the kitchen and porch, a lot of the rooms had a considerable draft ...

There is a leak in the kitchen and porch, a lot of the rooms had a considerable draft coming in. The bath is very small and the overflow drains onto the floor. The kitchen is also very cold, and worth keeping in mind the aga and fireplace are just for show. There are some positives, the location is great and isnt too far from everywhere in cornwall. Its very close to beach and two pubs in walking distance. You also have the pool and gym to use in the holiday park. I would come back and stay here if these issues were fixed as it does have the potential to be a really lovely cottage but it does need a lot of work.

About the location

PORTSCATHO

St Mawes 5 miles ; Truro 15 miles ; Mevagissey 13 miles

Once an important pilchard-fishing village, today Portscatho is a popular holiday destination for those seeking a traditional seaside location. Brimming with Cornish charm, there is a sandy beach and a harbour, as well as a pub, a butcher’s, a greengrocer’s and a handful of gift shops and galleries. The coastline here is most scenic, with hidden coves, secret beaches and mile upon mile of undulating coastal footpath. The village of Gerrans is just a short stroll along the shore, and the beautiful Porthcurnick beach is also accessible via the coast path from Porthscatho. Portscatho offers a holiday away from it all, with a welcoming community spirit and several annual events which everyone gets involved with – including the fish festival each August.
