“Myself and my son have just had a holiday here.”

We both agree that this property is the most comfortable and well equipped property we have ever stayed in. The furniture and beds are lovely. The place is spotlessly clean and every kitchen utensil you could ever want. The hit tub was an absolute bonus that we used every day. The area is lovely, quiet and very relaxing. All in all we had the perfect break. We both would recommend a stay here. The owners check with us regularly that every thing is ok, very caring.

Rivière Barton is a newly-refurbished barn conversion located in the rural outskirts of the bright port town of Hayle, Cornwall.

Stylishly decorated and beautifully furnished, this property boasts proximity to Hayle town centre and Hayle Beach, and sleeps six making it perfect for groups and families seeking a sunny holiday with a furry friend.

Step inside to find a lovely sitting room with pillowy, bespoke-made sofas for you to sink into as you warm up by the electric fire and put on your favourite movie.

Cook up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen and enjoy your family meals around the dining table.

Through the patio doors you'll find a rear enclosed patio, with a hot tub that you can soak in as you watch the sun rise into the sky.

After freshening up with a quick shower or immersing yourself in a more indulgent bath, head to one of three bedrooms and slip between the soft, fresh linens to catch your rest.

Venture out to the town of Hayle and wolf down a delicious meal at The Cornish Arms gastropub, go out for a few drinks at the Salt Kitchen Bar, and try out some decadent desserts and fresh pastries at the waterside Philps Bakery.

When the sun is shining, make your way to Hayle Beach and tan on the sand or swim in the glistening water.

Art-lovers, a short drive will take you to Cornwall's most-famous coastal town, St. Ives, where you can admire the modern art collection at the Tate St Ives overlooking the Atlantic, see the masterfully-made sculptures at Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and don't forget to check out New Craftsman Gallery, which displays the works of local Cornish artists.

Stroll along St. Ives Harbour where shopaholics will be spoilt for choice of artisan boutiques and eateries, and enjoy views of the marina.

For more nature-filled adventures, head up the coast to see Godvery Lighthouse, uninhabited rocky islet, hike through the Godrevy - National Trust and marvel at breathtaking coastal views and nature plains, and end the day with a picnic at Mutton Cove, a large cliff top overlooking St. Ives Bay.

There's something for everybody at Rivière Barton.

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 6.3 miles; Penzance 7.4 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters, and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafés where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries, or admire the colourful sub-tropical gardens. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre, Falmouth Maritime Museum, Eden Project, St. Michael’s Mount and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
