Description

Rock 3.2 miles A beautifully restored barn surrounded by countryside yet just a short drive from the beautiful long sandy beaches of the north Cornish coast, Applestore near Rock is a property with much character.

With original beams and exposed granite walls, this traditionally decorated and furnished home-from-home provides a most comfortable, peaceful sanctuary to return to after long days out and about.

On the ground floor, the cosy sitting room with multi-fuel burner leads straight into the country-style kitchen, and also has doors which open up onto a sunny south-facing patio, the perfect spot for a summer barbecue.

From the kitchen, another door leads out to an enclosed, lawned garden where children can play safely.

Upstairs are two comfortable bedrooms as well as a family bathroom.

The nearby village of Rock is a very desirable and popular holiday destination, and is known for its excellent windsurfing and sailing conditions as well as a long stretch of sand at low tide.

The much-loved harbour town of Padstow sits just across the estuary, and has quite a reputation for good food - thanks in part to the likes of Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth, both of whom have restaurants there.

Walk in ITV’s Doc Martin’s shoes with a visit to the characteristically Cornish fishing village of Port Isaac, just a short drive away – or get on your bike and enjoy a day out on the traffic-free Camel Trail which follows the estuary from Wadebridge in to Padstow.

Approximately 3 miles to the renowned surfing beach of Polzeath.

Within easy reach of the Cornish coastal path.

There is a well established sailing and water skiing school in Rock.

My sister and I were so pleased when we saw Applestore.

It was a cosy traditional cottage that we remember from our childhood in that area. It had everything we needed and we loved the quietness, as well as the pretty garden and patio. Very close to all the places we wanted to visit, including family. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and meant we didn't have to go shopping straight away. Would love to book again sometime.

Clean and tidy and everything as described lovely quiet setting with pretty much everything you need.

On a personal note would be nice to have a king size bed as there's enough room for it. Welcome pack was a very nice touch and much appreciated. All things considered its a very nice place to stay. Will definitely consider staying again.

Applestore felt like home then instant we arrived.

It was clean and cosy, equipped with everything we needed and we were left a welcome pack including wine and local biscuits from Sheila. A very peaceful play to stay within great reach of all the places that we wanted to visit.
