Wow!

What a superb property. Everything was better than described. The hosts Helen and Simon were both very welcoming and helpful. Extremely well equipped and plenty of games/books/etc., were available if the weather was not so good (which unfortunately in our case - it wasn't great). But that, in no way spoilt our overall holiday experience. Frankly a Five Star rating is too low! Should be at least 10. We would definitely recommend this property and will most probably book it again in the future, if it's available that is!

We have just returned from a weeks holiday staying at Chy lagen Hos.

The accommodation is perfect for a family get away. It's well placed, spacious and has everything you could possibly need. Simon and Helen are really friendly and great hosts. We will definitely be back.

This is a well equipped holiday home set in lovely surroundings.

It’s a very peaceful setting with a beautiful view from the decking of the gardens, duck ponds and of course the ducks (weather permitting). Would recommend!

It felt like home from home. The owner was very helpful and always on hand to help if we needed him.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chy Lagen Hos!

! It was perfect for us!! We spent a week visiting different towns and beaches and then chilling back at this gorgeous home!! The property had such a cool styling, mixing 70’s earthy tones with a modern contrast. This then complimented the lovely decking area outside. The perfect summer week for us, the decking really is the perfect sun trap and we spent most evenings using the BBQ. Thank you for having us and we already can’t wait to come back. The only suggestions we have for improvements (but these are only personal preferences that we felt would of helped us) are some extra oven shelves as we struggled to cook multiple things at once and a clothes maiden for drying clothes as we did a couple of washes of our beach bits that we couldn’t tumble dry and didn’t have anywhere to dry them as it was raining outside so we couldn’t use the washing line. Thank you for a wonderful stay!! We look forward to coming again!!

Lovely property,spacious and comfortable, well equipped,beautifull garden.

The property was spotlessly clean, comfortable and a quiet place to stay.

We received a warm welcome from the owner, who recommended a local pub The Two Clomes which we ate there twice, so thank you Simon. The amenities were good, but the only problem was we couldn't use the main oven as much as would of liked. Unfortunately, previous guests can damaged the shelving from the oven and the owners to replace them. But we was informed about this just before our stay. We would certainly like to stay again in the future

Fabulous place to stay for a quiet relaxing holiday ,with lovely views over the duck pond.

Lovely bedrooms with comfortable beds and great en suite bathrooms Good location for visiting many of the local attractions such as Newquay 10 mins drive,Bodmin Jail and Padstow to name just a few. Helen and Simon were great hosts and always available if needed. Would definitely recommend.

Highly recommend, amazing property with fantastic facilities.

Owners around if you needed anything, both lovely. I shall miss waking up to the sounds of ducks and the amazing star filled skies at night.

We had an amazing week @ this superb bungalow it is fitted out with everything you need couldn’t want for anything.

Luckily the weather was great so Breakfast outside on the balcony every morning facing the amazing garden & duck pond & luckily saw the ducklings.The hosts Simon & Helen were most welcoming we even had a tour of the amazing garden .

...how many more adjectives could I use. Chy Lagen Hos is a most wonderful property full of space and light with a unique style running throughout. Whilst the modern fittings brought a luxury break feel to our holiday. A hot water tap for the tea and coffee is a real spoiler item. The views over looking the owners garden are fabulous, bringing a calming and tranquil vibe into the house and those ducks are such fun to watch and enjoy. The owners (Helen & Simon) could not be more welcoming and friendly, going out of their way to help and sharing their knowledge of the area, even giving a delightful tour of their own garden. Chy Lagen Hos is a home from home which encourages you to live in Cornish time and one you want to say ' Oh yes, home time..... We shall leave DRECKLEY!'

We had a brilliant holiday at Chy Hagen Hos.

Simon and Helen were great hosts and they have a beautiful garden which they were kind enough to show us around. We enjoyed being back in Newquay, where our children went to school many years ago, and enjoyed going back to all the pubs we frequented when we were young! Thank you for a lovely holiday.

We had a lovely stay, the property couldn’t have been nicer.

Very well equipped and everything to a high standard .We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend .We loved watching the ducks on the pond and in better weather it would be great to sit out on the veranda. The wine was a welcome touch . Many thanks to Simon and Helen , we’d love to return.

The property is huge and has every ammenity finished to a high standard internally and externally its positioned in Newquay which makes it great to get to everything I will definitely stay again

It was a perfect place to relax - the cottage is very comfortable and perfectly equipped and the position in Quintrell Downs is a perfect place from where to explore Cornwall's beautiful sites.

WOW… this holiday home is amazing.

Absolutely everything you would require in the kitchen even a spirits measurer. The 2 bedrooms are very spacious with loads of wardrobe space & drawers (could do with more hangers) Bathrooms are gorgeous. The view out the back is stunning Owners are very friendly Would highly recommend this holiday home

The owners were very welcoming, the house was comfortable and clean with all necessary equipment.

Very central for visiting different places in Cornwall. If you wanted just to rest at the house the outlook in the garden with all the ducks chickens etc was wonderful. Would not hesitate to recommend it.

Had an outstanding stay

We really enjoyed staying at the property and having the space and comfort you would enjoy in your own home.

We loved the showers, probably the best we have ever had! Our only recommendation would be to maybe have some chairs out on the decking at the front of the property. The evening sun was so lovely but it was mainly out of the front of the property and not at the back decking, so it would have been nice to have enjoyed it.

Lovely place and handy to get around Cornwall.

What a wonderful place to stay.

Especially relaxing sitting on the decking in the sunshine with a good book watching and listening to the ducks and chickens. Thank you very much Helen and Simon for the eggs and wine they went down very well. Helen and Simon were lovely people and especially kind and sympathetic when we had to cut short our holiday because of illness but the time we were there was really enjoyable. Very comfortable, clean and cosy and hopefully we will be able to revisit sometime in the future.

We were in a little paradise.

The cottage has a wonderful view! You are immersed in the beautiful nature. Surrounded by the pond and ducks and birds, it reminded me of the Beatrix Potter stories. I adore it! The cottage is spacious and modern. I loved the open plan kitchen and living room. We had a sunny day and ate outside. Newquay’s beaches are glorious, with miles to explore, perfect for long walk or if you are brave enough you can even surf in winter time. We ate delicious seafood at the Boathouse restaurant but you have to book in advance. There are so many wonderful places to visit, my favourite so far are: Fistral Beach, pentire Steps Beach, Barbara Hepworth Museum, Eden Project, Lost Garden and off course just around the corner the Potting Shade, perfect for breakfast! We were spoiled with a welcome treat!!! fresh eggs and a bottle of Italian rose’. What a wonderful place! I can’t wait to go back!

On arrival it had the wow factor.

It was truly a home from home. There was nothing lacking. The beds were very comfortable, lovely wet rooms. Open plan kitchen & living area which was clean and comfortable. Utility room which we did not use but had everything there. The decking was comfortable with table chairs and comfortable seating. The view from the deck over the duck pond & garden was beautiful. Would recommend.

The property was really clean and was spacious both inside and outside on the. The location was perfect for exploring the surrounding areas. The owners were really welcoming with bottles of wine and freshly laid eggs (from their own Chickens!) on arrival. Would highly recommend and already planning our next visit. Thanks so much!

Great hosts , nothing too much trouble

What an amazing holiday and an amazing house, such a beautiful peaceful setting, loved seeing the ducks and chickens every morning and being surrounded by nature.

Great base to explore Cornwall and 3 local pubs for the evenings. Wonderful kind hosts who brought us fresh eggs, wine and took the time to show us around the gardens and introduce us to their chicks and ducks, such lovely people. House was wonderful spacious, clean and everything you could need. Would definitely stay again. We always book with sykes now have done many many times over the years have always been efficient with bookings, thorough with information and helping you to plan ahead, much more reasonably priced that other holidays and accommodations have always been amazing, without exception.

Beautiful view over large well kept gardens with a huge pond and chickens and ducks roaming free.

A joy to come back to after a day out. Owner very friendly and helpful, and even gave us a tour of the gardens. Fresh eggs were supplied (and a couple of duck eggs to try later in the week). Nice open plan accommodation, spacious bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms and plenty of storage. Highly recommend

The apartment was lovely, very, very spacious for the two of us!

Very tastefully decorated and the Christmas tree was a very festive bonus! We were made to feel very welcome and was lovely to allow us to have extra logs for the (very warm!) festive fire. The beds were comfortable and the shower was a dream! Would definitely recommend to others and already looking to book when we can!

With the nightmare of the Corona virus upon us and a planned cruise still not cancelled by TUi we decided to book what we thought would be a safer option by staying in England and visiting Cornwall.

It was important to us to have a central location for visiting all the lovely places and somewhere with peaceful surroundings where we could switch off and relax after our headland walks and days out. We were not disappointed. On arrival we were met by Simon the co-owner of the property who kindly brought us two bottles of wine and some eggs from their chickens that stroll around the beautiful grounds together with the highly entertaining ducks. I would also like to say how helpful and friendly Simon and his wife Helen were and how we enjoyed a tour around the garden which is really stunning and would add that photographs just don't do it justice. The bungalow is a large, open plan, beautifully finished property with everything you need, with TV's in both bedrooms and a really large TV on the wall in the living room, all 3 are smart TV's with Netflix, You-Tube etc. The bedrooms are both en-suite with plenty of storage, the kitchen is fully equipped, even a dishwasher. There is a separate toilet and a utility with a washing machine and drier, so it really is a home from home and has all you need for a long stay. Outside there is a very large decking/patio area which has to be seen to be appreciated and when you first go outside the view is quite jaw dropping, a large pond with landscaped gardens wrapping around it and total seclusion and privacy. At night it is deadly quiet, apart from the occasional quack, we had a great nights sleep. I would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful place, and to praise the owners for making you feel so welcome and for helping to make our stay such a lovely relaxing experience.

Fantastic accommodation and facilities.

This was a much needed holiday as I've been working through lockdown and it exceeded all expectations.

Lovely holiday cottage very comfortable and had everything we needed.

The beds were really comfy which is important, the place is well equipped and we really enjoyed our time.

We stayed in a beautiful home and were greeted very warmly by Simon and Helen who went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was perfect and that we had everything we needed.

The log burning stove was fabulous and it was great watching the ducks from the windows.

Perfect in every sense. Spacious, comfortable, exceptionally clean. What more do you need.

There was no mobile phone signal but wi-fi was good.

The property is even nicer than the pictures showed - a real gem.

Really smart, quality furniture, kitchen etc so very happy with that. The decking over looking the duck pond is marvellous for some R&R and we enjoyed having BBQ's and evenings in the peace and quiet. Location was ideal for us - close enough to walk/bus into Newquay but off the beaten track - the 2 Clones pub in the village was great for food. All in all a very enjoyable break.

The settings of the cottage was excellent, within distance of lots to do but far enough away for peace and quite, Simon and Helen the proprietors were friendly and very helpful.

This was our second time staying at Chy Lagen Hos and certainly won’t be our last.

It was a treat to have the woodburner lit especially after experiencing the boisterous ocean during the afternoons. Bringing our bikes next time for the Camel Trail and Carinham Woods. Can’t wait.

It was very relaxing being able to sit out on the decking and enjoy the view over the owners garden.

The property is centrally situated allowing all the main tourist sites to be visited in no more than 90 mins.

A really lovely place to stay both in terms of the accommodation and its position for accessing so many places we wanted to visit.

The decking overlooking the gardens and the duck pond was a real bonus and was a great place to sit and relax. The owners had thoughtfully provided us with welcome "goodies" which were much appreciated. The whole place had a "wow" factor and we would definitely return there. One of the best places in which we have stayed.

Leaving was difficult as we found Chy Lagen Hos to be so comfortable, well equipped and in a perfect location.

I have a feeling we may be back! It's obvious a lot of thought went into renovating the property. We loved the private decking overlooking the duck pond, which was full of characters of the bird variety! Inside was equally as stunning - furnished to a very high standard with great facilities. The owners Simon and Helen were lovely and had provided an amazing welcome hamper of local produce, including eggs from their hens. If you want to explore Cornwall this property is situated in a great, peaceful location to do so. We would happily recommend a stay here to anyone. Thanks Simon and Helen

We both walked through the door and said “WOW” in unison.

Quality fixtures, amazing showers, decking area larger than appears on photos and the duck pond which was lovely to look at and amusing to observe the anticts of different types of ducks, hens and dragonflies etc. Expected lots of flies but no - just on the pond. There’s also a separate w.c. that isn’t mentioned in details. Very convenient location for lots of places to visit. We

The cottage was beautiful and in a beautiful peaceful location the owners were lovely and very helpful the fresh eggs left for us from their chickens were much appreciated and tasted delicious would love to return to this property again highly recomended
