The house is amazing, we would absolutely recommend staying there.

This was our second visit to Penang and we didn’t want to leave. It has everything you need and more. The garden is beautiful, we really enjoyed eating outside with the fire pit going and visiting Carlyon Bay just down the road.

Lovely property in a great location.

Plenty of gorgeous beaches nearby and attractions. We were a group of 7 adults and the upstairs rooms are a bit of a squeeze but it was a great property nonetheless. We found 2 cars could fit comfortably on the drive, not sure about 3. Lovely stay and the scones on arrival were a nice touch!

A lovely clean, cosy home for our stay.

We had every comfort plus a great outdoor area to sit in the evenings, surrounded by a lush and tropical like garden. All our needs were catered for, probably the most equipment we have had in a holiday home. Wonderful time, many thanks

We stayed here for 4 days which really wasn’t long enough.

It’s such a beautiful property and we really were able to relax. It was exceptionally clean, and had everything you need for a self catering stay. Things to note, they’re not bad but good to know: The property is on a main road. From the house you can’t hear it but when the door or windows are open you can hear the traffic. Once you’re in the property there is a ground floor bedroom and bathroom which means those with mobility issues don’t have to climb stairs. This was excellent for my parents however the path up to the property is a long slope with some steps. The top 3 bedrooms have sky lights so if like me you like to sleep in total darkness, bring a sleeping mask. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area, and I hope one day we’ll be able to come back.

Penang is a lovely property for a family.

Great location, super clean and warm. Suggestions for improvements; Outside, a handrail leading up to the house. The path is very steep with steps. We had an elderly family member with us and this was a struggle that could be made easier for all including when it is wet for everyone. Lounge; not enough seats for everyone. The house can sleep 7 but there is only seating for 5 in the lounge. I did say this last time.

If you’re looking for a property that exceeds expectations then Penang is that place.

Beautifully furnished, great family space for children and 4 legged friends. The gardens are lovely even in the rain, be wonderful in the sun, thanks to the laundry facilities we survived the wet, muddy weather, had great meals and wonderful days out, thanks to Pernangs location our trips to our favourite places, Eden, Heligan and the beach were short. We’d definitely recommend Penang!

This was a wonderful house and a really good base for everything around.

The house was lovely and clean and there was a welcome pack of scones with jam and cream along with tea and coffee to make your first cream tea. Even though the weather was mixed we had a great time. The only one grumble we had was the tv’s not easy to use. They kept buffering.

We've had the most wonderful family holiday in Cornwall and this house has been absolutely perfect!

We couldn't beat the facilities in this place and the photos definitely don't do it justice. It's super clean and comfortable. We also loved the area, being situated near both mevagissey and Charlestown. The welcome book also included walks and restaurant recommendations which came in handy! Would definitely recommend. We absolutely loved staying at Penang, 1 week wasn’t enough! The house is so well maintained and fully equipped with anything you need.

We really enjoyed our stay at Penang.

The property was very clean and comfortable with all mod cons. Perfect location for beaches and sightseeing. The only downside was the steep slope and steps leading up to the property, but once inside, it more than made up for this. We would definitely consider coming back.

The house was beautiful.

Homely and comfortable. All facilities were clean and well stocked. Could not have asked for anything more. The garden was safe for our dog. The parking perfect. Location was spot on - I would stay again and recommend to anyone wishing to visit Cornwall.

We had a lovely visit here, we were surprised by the amount of space and comfort, and enjoyed the welcome package!

Would recommend a family staying here, there are lots of places nearby for day trips and all facilities were top notch. The only thing we’d suggest is sharpening the knives and providing more cutlery/cooking utensils, but otherwise we had a fantastic stay thank you.

The property itself was one of the best we have stayed in.

So clean and brilliantly equipped. I could not fault it at all. My feedback for the house would be a top rating. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the location. St Austell was not the quaint Cornish town we had imagined. There was nowhere within walking distance to eat or visit and everything in town was shut down. The photos of nearby Charlestown on the website for Penang were misleading as this was not where the house was and the pictures were part of what drew me to the house. We drove to Charlestown one afternoon and realised the photos were from there and wished we were staying there instead of St Austell. It would be fine if you only wanted a base from which to drive to other locations, but we like to holiday in a nice location where there are places to walk to, shops and restaurants/ pubs on the doorstep.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the property was spotlessly clean and well maintained.

We were comfortable and relaxed and found it the perfect spot for travelling to Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan, there's an Asda 5 minutes away so we didn't have to pack food to travel, and the children were thrilled that there was a (very clean and quiet) McDonalds within walking distance. Our labrador loved lazing in the peacful and well maintained garden. We would most definitely return and recommend to others.

The house was perfect for our stay and we hope to book for our next trip :)

Fabulous property, spotlessly clean, with everything you need to hand.

Real cosy feel to the house. Close to all amenities and easy to get to other places in Cornwall. We had a fab time and would definitely recommend this home for a holiday. Looking forward to hopefully staying here again in the future.

Excellent stay.

Penang served our purposes well. We were hiking in the area while also working, and with no car, we appreciated the proximity to buses and trains, as well as lots of meal options ... even a Tesco Express over the road. The Wi-Fi worked well with both of us working and holding virtual meetings, and the house was very comfortable and well suited for two people working. Lots of space (even more than we had anticipated in the description). Everything we needed in the kitchen. Unfortunately, given the time of year, we did not get to make use of the outdoor amenities or the garden room, so can't really comment on them. However, we did enjoy being able to have a fire on a couple of chilly nights. Despite the proximity to the road, the house's elevation, plantings and good windows meant that we were not at all disturbed by any noise when we were inside.

We had a wonderful stay!

Penang is a truly lovely property, with everything you need for a comfortable holiday. A real feeling of luxury, peace, space and light, whilst also being warm and cosy. The facilities, decor, bedding, towels and garden are all beautiful and very well thought out. We would highly recommend a stay here. We were visiting the Eden Project and Heligan, so perfectly located for this. The local beaches are wonderful. We were a mixed bunch of adults, teens and our old Labrador, and we all felt very at-home and had a wonderful stay.
