Chynoweth House

Overall we had a lovely stay.

The location is perfect to access all parts of Cornwall and Holywell beach is beautiful. The property was a great size with plenty of room, there were just a few things that could be improved. The beds and sofa were not very comfortable so could do with being replaced. The French doors leading to the garden were very difficult to open and close. The microwave was all rusty inside and completely unusable. The property could value from chairs for the garden as shown in the photos rather than a wooden bench and also the description details a snug room with a TV but this was actually the dining room with no TV which was a shame.

We love Chynoweth House, Carly, the caretaker does a fantastic job, but there's a couple of maintenance & facility issues that need addressing: 1.

The microwave desperately needs replacing as it's rusty inside and it smells horrendous. 2. The electric towel rail in the ensuite doesn't work, (the switch was turned on in the adjacent cupboard). 3. There's only the bare minimum crockery, there's no dishes for salad or preparation etc. 4. Mirrors in the 2nd & 3rd bedrooms would be useful for drying hair/applying makeup etc.

We had a wonderful week in Cornwall and what underpins that is great accommodation.

Chynoweth House is that and more. It is in a great location just on arrival into Cubert. Easy access to Holywell, Polly Joke, Crantock, all just minutes down the road or 10/15 minutes into Newquay. It’s the perfect base for this area of Cornwall. Inside, the house is modern, well furnished and really nails that beach vibe, we was super relaxed all week. Honestly can’t fault the place - it was a proper home away from home. The number 1 part for us though was the dog security. We read descriptions all the time ‘secure garden for dogs’, but it’s always questionable - this garden was absolutely secure. Seeing our dog come in and out all week, enjoy the freedom of the garden was really nice and just made the stay for us. House was well equipped throughout, everything you need for a comfortable stay. Thank you for an amazing week, we didn’t want to leave in the end.

Lovely holiday and house was lovely too could not find a fault apart from the bottom stair first nite fell coming downstairs but apart from that all great lovely house

Had a wonderful stay, lovely and clean everything you needed and great location

We enjoyed our stay at chynoweth house.

Very high standard of property, had everything we needed. The little village was very beautiful and friendly people. just a short drive from the centre of Newquay Perfect holiday, making memories. Thank you Chynoweth house!

Compared to our usual bookings this wasn’t one of the best.

The downstairs toilet which was in the utility room had no lock on the door. Although I presume a cleaner had been in I found loads of sand on the floors(we’re not beach people) Unfortunately we couldn’t open three of the patio doors until we were on the last evening. The beds were comfortable.

We had a lovely week at Chynoweth.

Beautiful property inside and out, very cosy and comfortable living room! All amenities thought about including an air fryer. The village location was perfect and just under 2 mile walk to the beach. Would definitely return.

Whoever designed this place is a genius.

Every facility you would expect at your own home is here. Nice detached house with 3 bedrooms. 3 Loos in the house, 1 en-suite bathroom and 1 main bathroom. Loads of crockery, cutlery, big fridge freezer and a dishwasher. Breakfast bar and the table could seat 6. Lightning fast Sky Internet on Wi-Fi (350 Mb we got on Speedtest). Loads of plug sockets where you need them. Decent Washing Machine and a Loo and Drinks Fridge in the utility room. Nice Patio, sun at the back in the morning and nice and cool in the evening when the sun is at the front. Rotary washing line and pegs and basket. Clothes dried really quick in the breeze. TV uses Samsung TV+ which is a bit odd, but there was a coaxial connection (not wired up). We took an Amazon Firestick and connected it into a spare HDMI port. There was an EV Charger at the side, but we didn't use it. My main gripe and other people said it, THE BOTTOM STAIR IS NOT CARPETED AND IS MISLEADING. I slipped twice in the morning when I wasn't at my most alert. Second time I was holding a glass and my tablet so I had to take the bump on the arse. But apart from that, it's easy to get around from here, a chippy, a bakery and a Londis in 2 mins walk. Bowgie Inn a short drive just down the road for decent grub and a drink by the sea. Value for money and I'd love go back at some point as Cornwall is so nice and clean.

Chynoweth House is a beautiful place to stay, the only downside is the TV as there's no terrestrial signal (aerial) and it's all on the internet which isn't easy to navigate.

The caretaker was fantastic and tried her best to sort the TV out for us. As others have mentioned, the bottom stair ought to be carpeted as it is quite dangerous as it blends in with the wooden floor. In summary, we loved our stay and have booked again for next year.

The house is ideally situated for a holiday by the sea with a beautiful sandy, accessible beach a mile away and country walks from the doorstep.

A few minutes walk away is a well stocked village post office providing all the essential items for a short holiday. Good characterful, gastro pubs are close by; quick access to main roads enable day trips to nearby towns and attractions. The house and its facilities are high quality. However, there is one significant complaint which I am sure can be easily rectified and will not detract from the property. The bottom step of the stairs is not carpeted and the oak finish to the step blends with the oak colour of the flooring making it easy to mis judge when coming downstairs. Within the first 24 hours, my 30 year old daughter and, more seriously, my 70 year old husband both fell badly down the bottom step. My husband fell flat on the floor. Amazingly, in spite of having two replacement hips and a replacement hip, he only suffered shock and severe bruising to his hips. I feared that it could have been much worse. My daughter bruised and grazed her hip. Neither individual had seen the bottom step. We bought a bathroom slip mat to secure to the bottom step to make it more visible and to avoid further falls. It needs to be rectified before a more serious accident occurs, which I assume Sykes will ensure happens. My complaint shouldn't make anyone doubt the overall excellent quality of the property and its location.

What can I say about this house.

It is beautiful modern and well equipped with everything you need. Set in a little beautiful village. If you need to contact the owner he responds virtually straight away and is very helpful. I've stayed in properties in Cornwall before but this is far superior. I really can't recommend Chynoweth House enough I did not want to leave.

Excellent property great location would definitely like to stay at this property again

Hi this listing was very inaccurate as a regular customer of yours this is a first The property was listed as 4 bedrooms and with en suites There was only 3 bedrooms only 1 en suite There was no American style fridge freezer There was no rangecooker There was no open fire There was no views of the country side Just a 7 ft fence blocking any view The front door pours in water The heating never comes on even when turn up room stat No where to dry wet clothes as radiators never come on Not sure where the study was either not that was bothered about that No ground floor bedroom The description is so inaccurate of this property

A lovely property comfortably and thoughtfully equipped, with everything you need for a good stay.
