A beautiful cottage in the heart of Crantock a nice winter day shame it doesn’t go a bath maybe put one of the upstairs in the attic room apart from that it was absolutely beautiful thank you very much , happy new year to Cartaker Chloe I’m coming back in April so thank you.

The bathroom mirror and floor had not been cleaned, so did that myself.

The first three mugs I pulled out of the cupboard were all stained. There were cobwebs in places. Overall very disappointing. The ceiling height in bedroom is extremely low and we kept knocking our heads and I’m only 5 ft 2ins. On a positive note, the bed lovely and clean and very comfortable.

Ideal location , only complaint I have is that it wasn’t clean and the rug smelled.

The vacuum cleaner also smelled when in use. If accommodation is offered for dogs surely it should be of a good standard. It was I feel over priced.

10 out of 10 as always another two holidays booked for next year

There are no windows in the property, it's dark inside , and very hot and stiflingly.

The owners live next door and required access to their double garage , we had to move our car in the very narrow court . Very busy village location , unfortunately not recommended.

Excellent location is hard to overstate : super beach, two friendly food serving pubs, local shop, bus connections, are all within a five minute walk.

Proprty facilities are good, though height of upstairs room and temperature take getting used to.

Quaint accommodation in a small village, well maintained & clean, 10 mins away from beach which is stunning & 2 pubs only a minute or 2 away serving good food & drinks, bus to Newquay & Truro literally minute away along with a pretty well stocked shop on the doorstep, just a couple of things to note, the extraction in the bathroom isn’t as effective as could be so does stay steamy for a good time after showering & along with previous reviews the bedroom does get very warm, we did find a fan in the cupboard but it was really noisy so we abandoned it!

But otherwise a really good place to stay if you want a peaceful trip x

The weather was nice

Excellent location in a lovely village.

Rather overpriced if you do not pay a discounted rate. Careful parking required. Rather smaller than anticipated and the bedroom roofline problematic - be prepared to walk leaning to one side. King size bed very comfortable. Minimal helpful information provided. TV and microwave instructions would help. Internet extender not working. Provision of more crockery would enable more economic use of the dishwasher.

We had a lovely and peaceful stay at No 1 The Hinges .

The cottage is perfectly situated for a quiet getaway. We particularly enjoyed the cozy fireplace and the kitchen was well equipped. We did encounter a minor issue during our stay this was rectified incredibly quickly by the attentive owner. They were very responsive and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The location was ideal for the beach and village pubs. Crantock is a great place to base your self and explore Cornwall. The peace and quiet were exactly what we needed. Despite the small initial hiccups, which were resolved swiftly, we had a wonderful and relaxing holiday. We're already looking forward to returning soon.

A beautiful cottage could recommend it to anybody else coming back at end of April next year also coming in Christmas next year in the heart of the village of Crantock a beautiful church for Christmas Day down the bottom of the road thank you for to Tracy who left me some cake, chocolate cake and an apple pie

Absolutely loved our stay we did have an issue when we first got there but with a phone call it was all sorted straightaway and we could continue our holiday

The property was clean comfortable, perfect location, we would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

Crantock village and beach are stunning.

The shower was AMAZING!

The house was lovely, exactly what we needed. The area is a favourite of ours and it was our first time staying here. We would definitely come back. We did leave a couple of things which the owner has agreed to forward to us. We had an incident with the oven which was resolved same day and due to user error. Very happy with the service, especially since it was a Sunday.

1 The Hinges was clean and well equipped.

We found the bedroom was very hot and a fan or similar would have been good, also bit more info on how to use appliances (yes us oldies can't keep up). Basin hot tap was loose thought best tell you but shower ect very good. Yes would recommend.

Fantastic location and a cute little cottage.

We felt the place needs a little TLC and some updating such as getting mixer taps in the bathroom. The owners were super responsive replacing a toaster within minutes of us whatsapping it.

Lovely well played out place.

Has everything you need.

The only thing we would suggest is a bigger sofa, it was a bit small, the size of the room could take a larger one.

Apart from that, the property and contents, area, and price, it was great, we hope to stay here again in the winter months as we love it here in the winter.

No 1 The Hinges is a wonderful little cottage - very cosy and has everything you need.

The hosts were fab and very quick to sort out the WiFi when it wasn’t working, couldn’t be more helpful. Would definitely recommend and look to return.

Having stayed at No.

3 The Hinges in previous years with family, we opted for No.1 this year with it being just the two of us. As a whole it was a lovely stay and exactly what we needed. Having read other reviews, it does appear the internet connection seems to be an issue across the board which we had issues with from day one. Other than that, we can’t really fault the place or the location. Would come back.

As described, well presented, clean and tidy,no issues, I would say it doesn’t really cater for large dogs (Labrador size) upwards, other than that very pleasant stay and the owners are on hand if any issues arise.

What a wonderful stay we had.

The place was absolutely spotless. Very comfortable bed and had great facilities. Very peaceful and quiet.A beautiful location which was a few hundred yards to some lovely pubs and a twelve minute walk to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay. We will be booking again next summer.

We had a lovely stay at the No 1 The Hinges, bed was very comfortable, loved the window just above to let lovely cool air in the evening, bathroom had a lovely walk in shower.

Overall the cottage was nice and cozy. We would happily come back and stay here again. As it’s a nice cosy cottage for two people. We saw people commenting about banning your head against the walls upstairs, I would say it’s not even that bad. My partner is over 6 feet and if you get use to slightly minding your head you will not have any issues. Also parking wasn’t bad, we had a 4x4 with no issues.

Well appointed property.

Ground floor (living room, kitchen and bathroom) is very good. Bedroom upstairs has very low ceiling - we both hit our heads numerous times. Parking is insufficient There is really no outside space and you would expect that in this price bracket.

Our second stay, perfect location for us.

Slight issue with the plumbing which the owners dealt with exceptionally well, thank you, we will be back.

Had a great time in Cornwall at the Hinges.

Property is in a great location for exploring, the bed and the shower were also particularly excellent! The parking was adequate, it would have been a bit tight if we had a bigger car since access is shared with next door. Only downside is that the bedroom is adjacent to next door’s living space, we were kept up a few nights due to noise. Overall a great stay and would recommend.

The cottage was everything we expected (We had stayed here previously).

It had everything you would want or need for 2 people, plus a dog and is situated right in the heart of the village. It goes without saying, I would book this cottage again.

Really comfortable pied a terre in a great location.

The shop and Old Albion make it very well catered for. So good, just rebooked in a months time.

We have been to this cottage several times before and found it very comfortable and the location is great.

Lovely little property, with no issues of note.

There was one bathroom down light missing, and the addition of a couple of wine glasses would have been appropriated. Otherwise just perfect. We had a lovely stay.

Good location and comfortable cottage.

One niggle, bathroom lighting a little dark owing to lightbulb not working. Otherwise very nice and would book this cottage again.

I was really impressed with the information emails from Sykes.

They were reassuring and very useful, everything ran smoothly as a result. The cottage was as described and we were very happy with it. My only issue was the booking fee. I was not told about it- at all. The first I heard was when I received an email for the final payment. I feel that this is deceitful. I phoned to raise my concerns and it was dismissed. I tried again and was put through to another line but no one answered in 30 minutes. I gave up. For this reason only, I would not recommend Sykes.

I was delighted with my stay at 1 The Hinges.

It is right in the centre of the village so I was able to walk to the beaches and Coast Path without taking the car. The standard of decor and cleanliness was good. It was lovely to wake to the sound of the bird dawn chorus and the gentle chiming of the church clock. The only minus point was the sloping ceiling in the bedroom. I hit my head a few times and I am only 5ft 4in. So, not advised if you are tall. To be fair, they did warn us about that.

Negative points first, banged our heads a few times on the sloped bedroom ceiling until we learned to walk with a stoop, Internet connection intermittent so made booking trips etc a bit difficult, sofa and chair not big enough or very comfortable to relax in the evenings.

However those minor points considered I would recommend the cottage . It’s in a great location for walking to the beach, shop and pubs. The cottage was clean. Kitchen well equipped and thoughtful items provided. Bed was lovely and comfortable. Good shower, Off road parking . Although a little tight if the neighbouring cottage is occupied. Overall a good place to stay.

Very comfortable cottage, superbly located to explore Crantock and surrounding area.

Booked already for next year it was a perfect break and the dogs loved every minute. Thankyou Magda.

It was all good for us as it suits, close to the beach and nice pubs and restaurants nearby.

4 small lights out

Small issue with the reliability and strength of internet connection made catching up on office work & TV series challenging.

Crantock is a perfect place for a quiet week to get away from it all and No.

1 The Hinges suits us just fine. Great to meet Magda, the new owner. She's done a great job and, if anything, it's even more homely and welcoming than the last time we stayed.

Cottage perfect for leaving the car exploring the coast and spending time at the beach.

A lovely welcome package too. Would highly recommend.

Location fantastic, right in the middle of Crantock.

No outside space and parking a squeeze. No washing machine and decor looking a little tired. Issues with a bad smell from the bathroom contained by use of a drain cleaner. Lights above the shower, not working on arrival, soon sorted. Not much headspace in the bedroom but after hitting your head a few times you soon learn!

Lovely cottage, quietly tucked away but central to the village with easy access to beach and pub.

Hope we can return soon.
