Trevenning Chapel

We were greeted by the owner, he then gave us a tour of this wonderful place.

Everything was perfect, even during a particularly hot heatwave. The surrounding gardens and fields are just wonderful, with daily visits from the local rabbits and deer. It is tucked away down a narrow lane, with no passing traffic giving total peace and quiet. It is a few miles to Port Isaac and easy driving to just about anywhere in Cornwall. We will return.

Trevenning Chapel holiday was wonderful.

The postcode takes you right there. Parking easy. Lovely welcome, inc milk and prosecco! The weather was abysmal. Cold, wet and windy (June in the UK!!), but it didn't matter. We found places to visit, or stay 'at home' and enjoy the beautiful seclusion of the accommodation. Our only negative point was the shower (for us) was either too hot or too cold. We never did suss it out. But that wouldn't stop us returning!

The fan oven makes a loud rattle when being used.

The TV was difficult to watch as it pixilated most of the time. Other than that adorable little place.

Ideal for us as a mature couple with a small dog.

Trevenning Chapel was exceptionally clean and bed linen felt very luxurious. The Chapel had everything you needed. Owners were friendly and very helpful. Location was quiet and peaceful. 2 big fields for your furry friend to run around in. Plenty of places to visit not too far away. Would certainly recommend Trevenning Chapel.

The pint of milk in the fridge and the bottle of fizz were a very welcome start to the holiday. The area was quiet and peaceful and the chapel was warm and spacious. Thanks for a lovely holiday.

What a find, can’t recommend enough.

Great hosts and well situated to visit Tintagel, Port Isaac, Padstow and St Nectan’s Glen etc. A visit to the Inn at St Tudy is a must. The chapel had everything we could need, the courtyard garden was so tranquil and our dog absolutely loved the paddocks. The king sized bed was so comfortable, we left feeling refreshed and relaxed. A beautifully adapted chapel in a quiet secluded spot.

Somewhere peaceful to return to each evening, very comfortable and with good facilities and a nice welcome from the owners. Its' position gave good access to north Cornwall coast and countryside with the village of St Tudy a few minutes away by car, providing a well stocked and friendly community store and excellent dining at the St Tudy Inn.

Amazing place to stay we absolutely love our stay there and we have been back a few times and will definitely be returning

Had a lovely 5 night stay at Trevenning chapel.

It was so peaceful and quiet, with easy access to Port Isaac, Padstow and many other places. The bottle of bubbly was a nice touch and was very much enjoyed. Our greyhound Teddy enjoyed his stay too, with lots of places to sniff and explore around the farm.

The Chapel was absolutely stunning, by far the best place we have stayed at. The bed was so comfortable, my partner said he hadn't slept so well in years! Was lovely waking up in the morning to see rabbits outside. The area was so quiet and peaceful. The Chapel was spotless and had lots of information on what's around Cornwall. We had a warm welcome and a bottle of prosecco awaited us on our arrival from our host. Also our hosts very kindly let us park our motorbike in the carport as it was a bit rainy during our stay. Highly recommend!!! Thank you so much! X

An absolutely fantastic place to stay!

We loved everything about the chapel, it was so comfortable, and had everything we could possibly need! The location is perfect - peaceful, stunning views, and easy to get to everywhere we wanted to visit! Our dog, Merlin, had the best week running around the paddocks! Thank you so much, we had a wonderful week in Cornwall, and we will definitely be back to Trevenning Chapel!

The defining part of our stay was probably a 36 hour downpour.

However it was easy to heat the cottage so the weather was a hindrance but not a total killer!! The cottage itself is exceptional. Everything you need for a couple and a dog. Very clean, very comfortable and highly recommended. The owners are friendly but not intrusive. The cottage is in effect a single room on 3 levels but the total number of steps (5 I think) were not a challenge to my wife’s limited mobility. The history is intriguing, some of the walls are 2 feet thick!! The dog enjoyed the paddocks. And it was easy to drive to places like Trebarwith Strand(excellent doggy beach), Padstow and Boscastle. Even the local pub, the St Tudy Inn provided excellent high quality food. Would we come again? If we decide to visit Cornwall it would be our first choice.

What a hidden gem. We had everything we needed for us and our black lab. It satisfied all our tick-boxes for a perfect holiday, location, remoteness, comfy bed, comfy sofa, wifi, decent shower, fully stocked kitchen, all appliances working, great hosts. Thank you so much for a great week, we are fully re-charged. One small suggestion would be to have a mirror on or above the chest of drawers as it was interesting for me to dry my hair whilst angling the WC cabinet mirrors so I could see what I was doing.

The Chapel is of an exceptional high standard, and a unique and beautiful place to stay .

It is homely,comfortable and kept very clean. In addition to this the setting is amazing. From the very moment we were welcomed (which included a bottle of Prosecco) we thoroughly enjoyed the entire week. The owners really ensure guests have the best they can offer. Thank-you.

We stayed in the delightful, charming chapel.

It was immaculate, full of character and extremely comfortable. The view from our window was stunning and our dog absolutely loved walking round the paddocks on site. The position is central to a number of our favourite places we love to visit in this beautiful part of the world. The owners are incredibly lovely people and couldn’t have been any more helpful. We would not hesitate to return.

The chapel was gorgeous and secluded, this is the 2nd time I have booked with Sykes Cottages and will continue to do so with them.

We had a fantastic time, our little dog came with us she loved it, there were 3 paddocks for her to run around in. The beaches were beautiful and the weather was kind to us with a couple of really hot days.

We had a delightful stay in the chapel.

It was lovely. Very comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was there for a wonderful weeks holiday in Cornwall. We stayed in March and the weather was not bad, it was warm, cloudy and we only had a little drizzle a couple of days so we were lucky. The bottle of Prosecco was a lovely touch and very welcome after a long drive. There is a small issue with damp at the base of the back wall of the toilet. Due to the height of the ground being a little too high I would imagine but it certainly did not effect our stay. I would highly recommend the Chapel as a lovely base to explore north Cornwall. I would think the summer months are wonderful there.

The Chapel is in a beautiful rural setting with excellent access to exercise paddocks for our dog.

The Chapel is small. Our weather was extremely wet and there was limited space for drying outdoor gear and dog towels etc. However, it is comfortable and cosy. Just one issue with limited hot water. Our query with the owner was immediately responded to.

An ideal rural and quiet property for two, that was close to local attractions and beaches for exploring.

The property was cosy, warm and clean also well equipped with all the that you needed for your stay.

Lovely property, my husband and I have just spent two weeks there.

The owner was very friendly and helpful and there was a welcome bottle of wine when we got there as well as fresh milk and tea/ coffee sachets. Very handy for visiting Port Isaac,Padstow, Eden Project etc. If I could change one thing it would be to have a small wardrobe. Failing that ( space was well used and it would be awkward to place one),then a second white stand with hangers would be helpful. There was plenty of drawer space though. I would absolutely recommend Trevenning Chapel.

Beautiful cottage with all that you could need for a weeks holiday.

Only addition I would make would be a welcome pack with milk as the local shop is two miles away and has limited opening times. Clothes washing pods would also be an added bonus.

When i booked this property i thought it was in port isaac or in walking distance of it but to my horror it was 10 miles away in the middle of nowhere.

We had family staying in port isaac an had requested alternative accomadation in port isaac but was refused.by yourselves after only 10 minutes of the initial booking.We only stayed 1 night there and had to find somewhere in port isaac to be with family .so we paid £880 for 1 night which is disgusting and think your customer care is a disgrace so ended up paying twice for the same holiday thanks to you

Beautiful chapel conversion in beautiful surroundings.

The location isn’t exactly in Port Issac which is a few miles away. Perfect if you want to get away from it all, very peaceful. Spotlessly clean however the property did have a damp musty smell about it. Our host was very nice and the complimentary Prosecco was a nice touch.

Property was lovely and clean, the hosts were lovely and on hand if you needed them.

I’ll miss the amazing view from the arch window; loved looking out each morning with a cuppa. Great location for Port Isaac, Padstow, Eden Project and Polzeath. Amazingly relaxing holiday thank you.

Cosy, comfortable and well equipped place to stay.

Loads of outdoor space very quiet and peaceful. Bed particularly comfortable with a great shower. Highly recommended for a quiet getaway for 2 (with 1 doggie).

The Chapel was lovely, warm and comfortable, very well equipped.

The bed in particular was so comfortable! The garden and surroundings were really lovely, and ample parking. It was lovely to have a bottle of milk and wine to welcome me. Very good position with easy access to main roads.

The chapel was fantastic … so clean and comfortable … everything we wanted , welcoming bottle of fizz and even milk in the fridge , lovely owners who were there if you needed them , would def recommend and go back again

A lovely little converted chapel.

Stunning views. Perfect for our dog with no hassle as there was so much space for her right from the doorstep. Very very secluded and private even with the owners across the way and another larger rental property next door. I think if I had to find any fault, and it would be nit picking it would be that having driven all the way from Wiltshire and not being able to check in until 4 in the evening, a small carton of milk in the fridge would have been welcome for a cuppa until we unpacked and found the supermarket. Regardless, a fabulous stay, thank you!

Loved the layout.

It’s quaintness. It was the property I saw on the website and thought that’s for me.

Very cute Chapel and extremely well kitted out throughout with quality and with everything you would require for your stay.

We arrived and were very pleased with the cleanliness and overall appearance which fitted the description given when booking so no surprises or disappointment. Thew owners were also very pleasant and welcoming. The grounds also well maintained and of good size which is great if you have dogs. Overall impressed and will keep very much in mind to re-book at some point soon.

Peaceful location and loved the small courtyard complete with birds and squirrels where we could enjoy our breakfast outside. The Chapel has everything you need and is very clean. Fantastic central location to visit the beautiful beaches and sites from Port Issac in the North (where we got mixed up with the filming of Doc Martin) to Polperro in the South and also went down to St Michaels Mount and Mousehole for a day. We would certainly love to come back again.

Compact and cosy accommodation with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Our little dog enjoyed the freedom of running in the fields and chasing rabbits and squirrels, he is sulking now he is back home ! Thank you for a relaxing stay. Angela and David

Its a very comfy accomodation , ideal for two people looking to chill, and relax in the quietest of environments.

We loved this place so much.

It's close proximity to Bodmin moor, the Camel trail an major roads to go to either coast was wonderful. The cottage has everything you need and was very comfortable. I feel like theres nothing else to say on the cottage as it really was perfect for us! Just note that the courtyard attached isn't enclosed, but there was (when we were there) some small paddocks that allowed us to let out dog off the lead safely for a great run around. The walk to the nearest pub is 1.7miles with some proper Cornish hills thrown in- but is well worth it. We found very little traffic, and felt safe walking as long as we were mindful it was a road! Camelford is the nearest village for a larger coop I think, we found it very easy to find and get too and it had parking next to the shop. We can also highly recommend the Snail cafe at the start of the Camel trail for snacks, icecream and bacon sandwiches! As a company I have used you a couple of times and will continue to do so but on this occasion the description of the chapel was a little misleading.

‘Private and enclosed ‘ garden was in the description and neither were. For us this cottage however nice inside the surroundings were not as private as we would have hoped for. The interior and furnishings were lovely just not private enough for us.

We have just enjoyed a perfect week at Trevenning Chapel about 5 miles from Port Isaac The cottage was beautifully presented with everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday .

It was spotlessly clean and in a wonderful setting with gardens and paddocks for our dog to enjoy . A lovely little place for a couple and their dog . The owners were friendly and helpful . The cottage was perfectly placed for visits to Port Isaac, Padstow, Rock ,Bodmin, the Camel Trail and many more . In fact we really didn’t want to come home .

Trevenning Chapel is ideally situated for exploring Cornwall.

We had a lovely week here with our little dog, we were all made extremely welcome. Scones and Prosecco made a lovely treat on arrival. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and cosy in a very quiet spot. Would highly recommend for a peaceful break.

Cottage was lovely comfortable clean and quiet a lovely get away but also close to many attractions would recommend , owners Anthony friendly and helpful greeted with home made scones and a bottle of bubbly nice touch.

A gorgeous converted Chapel with a lovely courtyard setting amongst trees & shrubs, the surrounding countryside is also beautiful.

The Chapel itself has everything you need & more, such a comfy bed too. The Scones, cream & a bottle of bubbles waiting for us were very much appreciated. Highly recommended to all.

Nice quiet location in this lovingly restored chapel.

Very cosy & surprisingly spacious, lovely comfy bed .The cottage is not too far away from anywhere really. We took our bikes & the owners kindly let us store them in their car port. Had a couple of bike rides direct from the cottage,once to Port Isaac and then across Bodmin Moor to Blisland. The cottage is not too far away from the Camel Trail either for anyone wishing to do use that trail.Walks as well from the cottage,so we didn't use our car much once we got there, except a couple of times in the evening when we ate out., and one day when we took a trip to Polzeath and walked to Rock and back a lovely walk well worth doing. A big thank you to the owners ,lovely surprise when we arrive a bottle of cava, biscuits & box of fudge very welcome.Last but not least lots of pubs in most of the villages catering for our love of real ales.

It was so quiet and peaceful we even had Buzzards flying above us when sitting in the garden.

Would love to have spent more time here. Picture window amazing, wild life in the mornings and amazing stars at night. Could not fault anything.
