Glenhaven

We had a lovely week at Glenhaven.

The property although small is very well thought out and ideal for a couple. Everything was clean and comfortable and the owner Penny who lives in the main house was most welcoming and helpful. There was a very nice surprise when we arrived of a cream tea and various cakes and local beer. The sitting out area to the rear of the house was very private and has a wonderful view of the ocean and Gull rock. We would definitely come again.

We had a great week at Glenhaven. The cottage is so well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is in a peaceful location with gorgeous views and as the weather couldn’t have been better we were able to make lots of use of the garden furniture and patio. Glenhaven was a perfect spot for a first-time visit to Tintagel/Cornwall.

Penny and John were very gracious hosts with yummy scones and clotted cream, Cornish tea, coffee and chocolate provided. Their annexe is lovely, spacious and exactly as depicted. We enjoyed it immensely! Penny was also helpful with suggesting places to visit for great views! :)

Glenhaven is well positioned at Trewarmett, not far from Tintagel.

Great for walking and getting about. The accommodation was comfy and cosy and the view to the sea and to Gull rock was beautiful. We had a lovely welcome with scones, cream and jam, perfect after a long drive. The annexe was quiet which was relaxing after days out walking and enjoying Cornwall. Good facilities, would definitely stay there again.

The accommodation was amazing.

We walked in and was very pleased.The annex is a lovely spotless place for two.And as soon as you open the back door the view takes your breath away. And the brownies and scones are a lovely welcome surprise. A very good base to explore.We would highly recommend.

I have coming here for a few years and Penny is always welcoming and the cakes left for us are delicious. The view from the patio has lovely views across to the sea at Trebarwith Strand. The coastal walks around the area are really beautiful and there is plenty to see inland too. Glenhaven is in a fantastic position to explore the north of Cornwall but it is also close to the main roads to reach further south. I have already booked for next year!

We enjoyed another lovely week at Glenhaven.

It is such a beautiful setting - the views out to Gull Rock with the morning sun glistening on the sea and stunning sunsets are always a joy to see. Glenhaven is spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and a great base for walks or for driving anywhere in Cornwall.

Lovely accommodation, the house was very clean and modern and a great location for the beach or Tintagel.

The off road parking bay was really useful. We would definitely recommend this.

Glenhaven is a great little place for a stay in the Tintagel area.

The accomdation is to a very high standard and the owners next door could not be more helpful. Its location is perfect for a trip down to Trebarwith Strand, 10 minutes from Tintagel and the Castle and within easy drive to Port Isaac Padtstow and Boscaslte all must see places.

Welcoming scones including clotted cream and jam, and unforgettable chocolate brownies.Very clean, well fitted cottage. Nothing more we could have wanted. Information pack covered everything about the cottage and also lots of info about the area. Private, safe parking was a definite bonus. Overall, a lovely place to stay with stunning sea views from its lounge and its own private patio. Also a great place for visiting all places along the north and south Cornish coast. We are likely to revisit sometime next year.and would not hesitate to recommend 100%.

Comfortable and well appointed with a nice view of the ocean. We wished we had booked it for a longer stay. Our only suggestion would be to add a teapot cozy to the kitchen.

It is such a tranquil and beautiful spot and the accommodation is just perfect. Watching the sunset over Gull Rock with a glass of wine in the lovely private garden area is so relaxing. I’m sure we’ll be back again.

I had another lovely holiday in cornwall.

I have been coming to this area of cornwall for over 30 years now and the coastal scenery is always beautiful, even in the rain! There are many stunning walks along the coastal paths. Glenhaven is in the perfect place to view this area and the view from the patio is wonderful. Penny and John are always very helpful and will help with any queries you might have.

The property we stayed in had amazing views, it was cozy, clean and close to the town of Tintagel, which was one of the main reasons we chose this place.

The only thing that let it down a tiny bit (and it’s a very small thing) is that the bedroom mirror had a blue LED light where you can switch in a light that made the whole room glow blue at night which my husband couldn’t deal with!

Lovely property with wonderful views out to the coast and the sea beyond.

The place was spotless and well maintained and had all you could possibly need for a stay. There is a short walk to join the coast path and we found it easy to walk to Tintagel, although the weather restricted other walks we had planned. Fortunately the accommodation provided plenty of space to relax in through the wet weather as well as having plenty of books and games to help while away the time. Definitely a place worth staying.

I had a fabulous week at Glenhaven.

The owners got in touch before I went with a helpful overview. They were on hand if I needed anything but in no way intrusive. The annex was very clean and they had thought of everything. The views from the back garden were breathtaking, I was lucky with the weather, sunsets and night skies were beautiful. You can walk from the annex into Tintagel and go on the coastal route. It’s close to so many other amazing walks and places to visit, which are only a short drive away. Thank You for my lovely break.

We have stayed in and around Trewarmett in September/October for the last 30+years and Glenhaven is one of the very best places we have stayed.

The owners are very friendly and unobtrusive, the welcome cream tea and cake were very welcome indeed. The provision of a small pot of change for any parking fees was a very thoughtful idea. Everything about our stay was exceptional and we have already booked for next year

Had two fabulous weeks staying at this excellent accommodation.

The owners, Penny and John are a lovely couple and have thought of everything in the apartment. It was so clean and comfortable with great facilities and a lovely view towards the sea. We would thoroughly recommend Glenhaven and would book again in the future.

A nice touch was the cream tea, chocolate brownies and 2 bottles of local ale which awaited us - not mention the bowl of small change for toilets and car park. Very enjoyable holiday.

Glenhaven is a really peaceful, private, beautifully presented and well equipped property.

Definitely the cleanest property we’ve ever stayed in and the owners have thought of every little detail to make your stay comfortable and easy. The view is lovely and there are walks from the doorstep as well as lots of places to visit within easy reach. We also found it a good base for exploring further afield in Cornwall. We particularly enjoyed walking down from Glenhaven to the Port William Pub for a Sunday roast looking out over the sea. We would unreservedly recommend Glenhaven.

We were very impressed with accommodation, Penny and John had thought of every thing even down to having a pot of change for toilets and car parks.

The only thing that could be improved in our opinion was the shower pressure was quite low.

The cleanest cottage that we have stayed in, the bed was so comfortable I haven't slept that well for a long time, everything that was needed was supplied, just a perfect stay, if I could give 11 out of 10 I would.

The most amazing holiday home!

Scrupulously clean, comfortably & tastefully furnished, excellent location, fantastic views, peaceful surroundings, lovely hosts, and everything you need for a relaxing holiday! There is nothing we would change about Glenhaven, and it is the first self catering accommodation we have stayed in that truly does facilitate self catering. Penny & John have thought of everything, and then added some extra touches. It is the perfect holiday home for a couple in our opinion, and when we want to return to the North Cornwall coast, it is the place we want to stay.

Can't think of anything negative at all, enjoyed our stay very much a walkers dream, would recommend the Port William & The Brewery for eating out & atmosphere not cheap but where is these days if you want quality food.

Very clean and well equipped, can't think of anything needing improvement or change. Ideally situated in the centre of Cornwall, nowhere was too far to travel there and back in a day.

We were made very welcome by the owners and the provision of tea and cakes on our arrival was most welcome. The property is very clean and comfortable, and ideal for 2 which met our needs perfectly.

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful little home with lots to see & do close by.

We loved looking out at the view of the sea - it never looked the same from one minute to the next! It was very comfortable and clean and beatifully decorated. I did struggle to get the shower to the right temperature but my husband had the knack of getting it right. Otherwise, it was perfect!

A superb location with amazing views of the coastline in quiet and peaceful rural surroundings. The owners are friendly and welcoming and full of very useful local knowledge of walks, amenities and interesting places to visit. A week wasn't long enough.

Great views. Outstanding hosts. We thought the property was amazing. From walking through the door and seeing the welcome pack all the way through to sitting on the decking to admire the views. It was all great. The property is well located and has everything you need for a week away. The property contained lots of board games, pack of cards, books and local area info - a very nice touch. Property was also very clean. Hosts live next door. It always felt they were available for any issues (although we didn't have any) but we only saw them three times and everything felt very private. All in all it was an excellent property and great hosts.

When I arrived I met Penny who was very helpful if we needed anything just to ask.Inside we were met with homemade scones and brownies, jam and clotted cream. I needn't have brought anything because it was all provided even change for the parking .Penny had thought about everything. Wow! and Wow! Glenhaven does not disappoint. It is a perfect retreat for two. Compact but comfortable and the views from the accommodation are to say the least ‘breathtaking’. On arrival the owners had provided a welcome pack including homemade scones and chocolate brownies. It was pristinely clean and had every amenity you could think of. As a base it was perfect. Highly recommend visiting the castle at Tintagel, Bude was a favourite of ours and Boscastle was just beautiful. Stunning views everywhere we went. A big thank you to the owners for sharing this place with us.

Penny and John have created a beautiful annexe at Glenhaven.

The comfort factor and facilities it has are first class. Very comfortable and peaceful. Glenhaven is in an ideal situation to discover this part of North Cornwall. For avid walkers the Cornish Coastal Path is so close. The walks that are available from Glenhaven have some really beautiful views. A walk to Tintagel and beyond is a must. This cottage s a wonderful destination for a completely relaxing holiday

Cottage an absolute dream, decor is beautiful, perfect views across to Gull Rock no criticisms, however as we are used to trying to do a ‘proper’ clean up before we depart, a broom or ‘stick’ vacuum would be a useful addition for guests.

This is without doubt the best cottage we have stayed in over many years of self-catering holidays.

We were warmly welcomed by the owner who had thoughtfully provided some very tasty homemade scones with clotted cream and jam - and some delicious cholate brownies as well. The cottage is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could need. And to sit on the decking and relax with a glass of wine after a busy day and watch the sunset is just magical!

Comfortable with good sized rooms overall.

Exceptionally clean and nicely decorated. Good view from the lounge at the rear of the property, adequate small patio with table and chairs. There's also a table and chairs overlooking the owners front garden and views across the countryside, which we didn't actually use, but great to have the choice.

Glenhaven has everything you want from a holiday let.

It is spotless,well equipped and beautifully presented. The seaview from both inside the house and outside on the decking is stunning,I never tired of looking at it! It is in a peaceful position,a short walk to the amazing Trebarwith Strand beach and the coastal path. This was my second visit to Glenhaven and I know it won't be my last. Thank you John and Penny for lovely stay.

Perhaps add an electric razor/toothbrush charging socket in bathroom? Perhaps some outside (front or back) walking boot storage- local paths can be muddy? Glenhaven was our first experience in a holiday let, it has set the benchmark for us.

We lacked nothing in a well presented accommodation owned by two very helpful and friendly people.

Ticked all our boxes, enjoyed our stay in spite of the wild & stormy weather.

My husband and I ( as they say ) had a rainy and wild and woolly trip to North Cornwall .

. BUT.. our accommodation made up for any disappointment . The owners were welcoming , unobtrusive and provided every modern convenience we could need. The bed was more comfortable than our own and everywhere was bright , comfortable and scrupulously clean - plus the cream tea supplied gave us a lift after a long journey. The sea view is spectacular with a wave-crashed rock ( who we called the sleeping Roman lady ) and constant changing skies. Thank you for a much-needed enjoyable break!

Glenhaven was perfect!

We felt relaxed the minute we arrived. The first thing we noticed was the stunning views, just incredible . We were also left a cream tea, brownies, milk, tea and coffee. There's not a single thing I would change about Glenhaven. It's very close to Tintagel, Bude and Bodmin about half hour away. We will absolutely be back. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

This is honestly the cleanest place I've ever stayed while on holiday.

Beautiful sea view, the homemade cakes on arrival were delicious. Extremely well equipped. In a brilliant location so you can travel to many places or stay local and there is lots to do. Can't fault the place. Just brilliant, will definitely be returning. Thanks for a great week!

All cleaning equipment, towels, tea towels, washing up liquid, soaps, e cloths, spare blanket, torches, washing machine tablets and much more. I wouldn't need to bring the kitchen sink on a second visit. A really comfortable rental with a lovely view.

Lovely walks to Trebarwith Strand and Tintagel easily accessible from the property.

The position of Glenhaven was ideal because it was only a short walk to the sea and the coastal path.

It was set in beautiful countryside to and it was so peaceful!! One of the highlights had to be the amazing sea view from the patio, which could also be seen whilst sitting in the lounge area. The sunsets were also amazing to!! Glenhaven itself was cosy, very clean and comfortable, with all the facilities i needed. Thank you for a truely relaxing stay.

Fantastic cottage, very clean and it was fitted out to a very high standard with everything you would possibly need for a wonderful stay.

The village is situated on the main bus route which was ideal as we were walking the coast. We would highly recommend this cottage and it has wonderful views.

Excellent clean and well appointed accommodation suitable for a couple of any age.

There is a very pleasant outlook toward Gull Rock and despite the spectacular storms, the property always felt secure and warm. A big advantage of this location is that it is within easy walking distance of several local attractions. A very special bonus was the warm welcome provided by the owners. A traditional Cornish cream tea and home made cake was provided for us on arrival!

Everything here is just perfect!

The location is quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful view down the valley to the sea. The accommodation is exceptionally clean, and has everything you would need. It's finished to a high standard. The bed was so comfortable, I slept better than I do at home! A 20 minute walk down to the beach and a pub (Port William) that is very nice. We didn't eat there, but it was busy despite being cold and out of season in March, and the food looked fantastic.
