    “We have just spent a magical Christmas at Kirland.”

    The house is fabulous. Everything works, lots of hot water, cosy lounge with wood burner, sun room great for wildlife watching, comfy beds and huge bath to relax in. We loved the gardens and waking up to spectacular sunrises and frosty mornings and enjoyed equally amazing sunsets. The gardens are gorgeous even in the winter with clematis in flower. Our dogs loved exploring the gardens down to the stream and island. I loved watching the Jackdaws and Rooks coming and going in the Rookery ...

We visited both local pubs at St Kew and Chapel Austle. Both are recommended. We walked the dogs along the Camel Trail from Wadebridge and a lovely beach walk at Dayner Bay. We really recommend Kirland and would happily revisit any time of year.

ST KEW HIGHWAY

Wadebridge 3.5 miles.

Located at the southern end of the Allen Valley is the village of St Kew Highway. It offers shops and a pub and on the edge of the village, a nine-hole golf course, with 18 different tees. Just less than a couple of miles away is the village of St Kew, with its church and pub, and there are a number of smaller villages and hamlets in the area, many of which also have a pub. Close by is the market town of Wadebridge, which offers many shops, pubs and restaurants, along with North Cornwall’s only cinema. This part of Cornwall boasts wonderful walking routes, as well as horse riding and cycling opportunities. The coast is nearby, where you will find sandy beaches, rocky coves and towering cliffs, along with the towns of Padstow and Newquay. Ideally located for exploring the stunning North of Cornwall, St Kew Highway is a convenient base for enjoying a mix of north Cornwall’s countryside and coast.
