“Myself, my new Husband and our dog Harvey had a fantastic stay at Phoenix Cottage on our first trip to Cornwall for our Minimoon.”
We mainly booked this cottage for both how super dog friendly the cottage is - based on previous reviews - and also as a convenient base location as we pre-planned to visit many places such as St Ives, Land's End and Penzance. We weren't let down and we had a wonderful time.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Maureen where she showed us around the cottage and provided us with important info and recommendations on where to visit with the dog during our stay. Maureen and John had decorated the cottage with 'just married' décor, a card and a bottle of wine prior to our arrival which were a lovely surprise. We also had cream tea waiting for us which was a lovely thoughtful touch, and so we kept the cream tea tradition going most mornings for our al fresco breakfast.
We had everything we needed and more at the cottage. We particularly enjoyed the ample outside space for the dog which comprised of an enclosed outdoors space and an additional enclosed hottub area joined onto the cottage, a large enclosed garden a few steps away and a larger field next to it.
Inside we benefitted from many amenities including a fan in our bedroom, a lovely large mirror in the bathroom, the super soft bathrobes, and a decent TV in the sitting room which we used to watch many episodes of The Office (US) between our adventures and to look through our wedding photos on our first night.
Both ourselves and the dog were well catered for and the cottage was spotless. This was our first ever stay at a cottage as we usually go for log cabins, and we hit jackpot. Thanks Maureen and John for a beautiful Minimoon!
