    “I was born and grew up in Porthleven and knew this property would have a fantastic view so my sister in law and I booked it for 7 nights to stay in January 2026.”

    The property met all our expectations and hopes. Very clean. Warm. Everything we needed was there. We ate breakfast and supper there every night but ate lunch out in one of the many good places to eat within short walking distance. We travelled down by train so took buses to Penzance. You can reach Helston, Falmouth, Truro, St Ives etc etc by bus or easy drive to all. We will definitely rebook Chy Lowen. Only issue was with key safe outside entry door. Others had commented in Guest Book that it ...

Others had commented in Guest Book that it was hard to open - and it was. One of the release buttons is stuck and we had to really force it to open once combination code entered. Not what you need in dark and when you have had a long journey down! Needs to be fixed or replaced. Other than that, we had no problems at all. Would highly recommend. Beds comfortable. Linen good quality. Kitchen had everything we needed. WiFi excellent. Underfloor heating wonderful. Will miss the view! Bys pan dhughyn!!

Porthleven is one of south west Cornwall’s hidden, coastal gems, located near Helston, famous for it's annual Flora Dance Festival. Situated between Lizard Point and Land’s End, Porthleven retains the feel of a traditional Cornish fishing village, enjoying uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Cornish coastline. The iconic clock tower sits on the harbour entrance and the pubs, shops, cafés and restaurants cluster around the historic picturesque inner harbour, where there is plenty of boating and marine activity. With a warren of streets lined with classic Cornish, granite cottages, an extensive beach manned with lifeguards, the chance for alfresco dining in one of a number of well reviewed restaurants, and crabbing off the harbour, there are plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy, all year round. Porthleven is building a reputation for eating out with a popular food festival established in the spring.
