Fabulous location overlooking Porth Beach with glorious sunsets.

Great place to explore locally with lots to see and do. Super comfortable beds, accessible walk in shower and a well equipped kitchen. Plenty of space to lounge and dine. V clean. Tiny detail of gate to back garden could do with a fresh coat of paint & toilet seat in shower room needs to be added. It’s first impressions which fade as you settle in and enjoy the space.

Finding the apartment was a little difficult as I didn’t understand the directions very well, but parked up and worked it out!

The apartment is on a very steep road, with the lovely Porth beach at the bottom, my hip didn’t fancy the walk back up so I lazily drove down and paid for parking instead! You are right on the coastal path, once you cross the road that runs in front of the apartment (a little noisy but not too bad) and in the opposite direction there is Watergate Bay which is around 25 mins walk, the walk back was a little challenging as my dog was VERY pooped from all the sand digging but we had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant just a few doors up from Spindrift, Tallo, which was so nice, and the staff are lovely. Noise was an issue for me, as the flat upstairs woke me around 7am every morning with their dogs running around and the sound of their nails on the laminate floor sent my dog absolutely nuts, and they did like a crazy yapping session now and again….so that was unexpected and unfortunate but the apartment owner isn’t too blame obviously! Another neighbours ventilation grate was making a racket too, so sitting out the back on the rare sunny morning I had wasn’t possible as it was like nails down a chalkboard. If road noise and chihuahuas don’t bother you then the apartment is in a great location for exploring and very well equipped, just take your salt n pepper

A lovely clean and welcoming apartment.

The views are amazing and the apartment is in the perfect location for exploring Cornwall.

On arrival at Spindrift we were greeted with the most amazing view of the sea and this lasted throughout our stay, even though the weather was rubbish.

The apartment had everything you could need and more. Our only minor gripes were the sofas are a bit too firm and the bed pillows the same, but it didnt spoil our stay. Donna, the owner, gave us loads of information before we arrived which was very helpful and is always available if you had a problem. The local area is really beautiful and porth beach is a great place to take the dog for a run. The headland between the beaches is well worth an explore and we was lucky to see the dragons breath at the top. The mermaid pub on the beach does a decent pint and a good choice of food, although a bit on the dear side. If we were to return to this area we would have no problem staying at Spindrift again.

Excellent level of cleanliness, repair and facilities provided.

Location is highly desirable. Private rear courtyard is nice, but was not the evening suntrap described, as the sun set at the front of the property. However, front grassed area was totally suitable for sitting and watching the sea and sunset, so was still a total win. We WILL be rebooking this property for future holidays, can't praise it highly enough.

When you walk in the lounge the view from the window is so spectacular it takes your breath away. The apartment itself has everything you could possibly need. I would definitely return and I highly recommend it.

The apartment is in a beautiful spot overlooking the cliffs of Porth.

The apartment has absolutely everything you need for a lovely stay. The owner is very helpful and the instructions are very clear. Fabulous walks with a dog. Local pub a 5 minute walk away on the beautiful beach. We had a fantastic stay.

Fantastic place a quick walk from Porth Beach.

Well set up and owners are personal in their contact and kind. We had a brilliant stay - arguably better weather than in the summer, but I don't think I can credit that to the owners :-) Plenty to do around and about - doggo slept for 2 days straight on our return, but was definitely reticent to leave when it came time to go. Always love Cornwall, and this is a well placed and well looked after home to use as a base.

The apartment was immaculate and has 2 bathrooms! Kitchen and separate dining area are great and you can walk round the whole apartment easily as it all flows well. It is bigger than it looks on the pictures and is beautiful. Pet friendly and enclosed courtyard at the back which is a real sun trap. Allocated car space behind was great. When you walk into the living room the huge windows shows the panoramic sea views which were stunning and literally takes your breath away. The same views can be seen in the master bedroom. Everything you could possibly need are in the apartment for you to use. The owner (Donna) is a genuinely lovely person and super helpful. I really can’t recommend this enough. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning. Bear says thank you too

Wonderful views looking out over Porth.

The apartment is well equipped with everything you need. Beds are comfy and rooms spotlessly clean. We enjoyed our stay.

We absolutely love this apartment.

From the second you open the door it is so fresh, light and spotlessly clean. This was our second stay at 2 Spindrift. I like to have a week in Cornwall with all the family then a week to relax. Rolling up the blind in the mornings to the crashing waves is magnificent, as is watching the breathtaking sunsets. Just a hop across the road and down the steps to Whipsiderry, great beach for surfing or body boarding, or a short walk down the hill to Porth. We were lucky enough to see two large starfish in shallow rock pools at Whipsiderry this year. When the tide is out you can walk all the way to Watergate Bay. If holidaying without a car or just wanting a rest from driving, the 56 Newquay to Padstow bus stops just outside the door. Newquay is also within reasonable walking distance for the fit. The apartment itself is so well equipped that it has everything you could possibly think of and more. The decor, in keeping with the period of the building is a nice touch. It is so obviously cared about as are the people who stay there. Very comfortable beds and crisp, white linen. I always feel very indulgent with my own en-suite bathroom. Lashings of hot water. There is also a tap outside to rinse off sand and wetsuits. Hose attachment in cupboard. We love the walled garden which is a great little suntrap. I don't know who this terrible neighbour is as mentioned in previous review but the lady above was very nice and friendly on the rare occasion we crossed paths. We didn't see anyone else. It was very peaceful. To sum up, whether it's country walks (huge pine cones up the lane), walking the coast path, bat watching, braving the surf or snapping the action from the safety of the cliff.....or not so safe feeling from the bridge when the sea is rough, more exhilaratingly scary : D... or just watching the ever changing sea and sky from the comfort of this wonderful apartment, I don't think you could ask for more.

Mould on brown blind in main bedroom and around window. General facilities excellent, views over sea wonderful. Can do nothing about noisy road.Neighbour above at No 4 unpleasant, even her neighbours confirmed that with us so it not just us. Loved the appartment generally so can understand repeat bookings . Maybe a "small welcome pack" might be a nice touch?

Hated leaving to come home!

Lovely apartment in superb location. 100% dog friendly. The owner was very helpful in texting us with details in advance and then on arrival to check that all was well. Would love to come again

Property was as described in the advert, wonderful view.

The icing on the cake was that there were plenty of extras. We’ve often stayed in places where, if it sleeps 6 there are 6 plates, 6 sets of cutlery etc., here there were ample provisions.

The property was well equipped , the views out the front windows are amazing it's one thing I'm missing.

Lovely stay fantastic view and location.

Well equipped accommodation. Only one down side is the parking the residents park correctly but other visitors don't one car took up two paces. Very nice patio area which was a lovely sun trap. Helpful owners. Would highly recommend this property. And we will book again

We enjoyed the location and view which was amazing all of the flats facilities were more than adequate we could take nice walks and other areas were not too far away to visit only one small point we believe that the parking at the rear could accomodate more than 6 perhaps marking areas out

The appartment had the most beautiful sea views and was much bigger than we thought .

It was in a good location for us as we love the walks and it was easy to get to newquay without taking the car. Have to say having a run along the headland to Watergate bay was fantastic . We were also lucky enough to have the most amazing weather not the usual 4 seasons in one day I expect going to Cornwall at this time of year. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family.

This is our 3rd year of staying at spindrift, Donna is an excellent host, clean and tidy, stunning views, and convenient for traveling, will be back next year, for our 5th wedding anniversary.

Spindrift is perfectly located for Whipsiderry beach, which is where we like to surf, therefore making it the best place we have stayed in Cornwall!

Donna was lovely and gave all the information we needed in a nice e-mail which we printed out and took with us. There were a couple of lovely little details such as a HDMI cable ready for use out the back of the TV (so you don't have to try to insert one) and a hose attachment with a shower head to hose down wetsuits and surfboards. The only downside we found was that the hot water was just enough for the two of us to have 5 minute showers, but this could be due to using it in the morning to wash the dishes, so we had to ensure to use the boost. We will definitely be booking again for our next visit to Cornwall - especially knowing it's dog-friendly as we'll have a little one to bring with us!

Spindrift is not just a ‘let’ , it’s a home.

Breathtaking views and sounds of the Atlantic Ocean. Spacious and clean, airy comfortable, what more could you wish for? You can arrive with just your clothes, and a trip to the local Sainsbury’s and that’s it . Every item you may possibly need is in the kitchen. The heaters are more than efficient, water to the bath is glorious and the shower is a head massage in it self. If you enjoy the elements (in March) long walks across astounding scenery, Spindrift will not disappoint.

The apartment is not soundproof.

We were expecting noise from a neighbouring building site (as warned about in the advert), but we could also hear noise from the flat above, especially a dog whining every morning for ages after its owner left it at approx 8am. Otherwise the apartment was lovely, well presented and well equipped. The position is absolutely stunning, exactly as advertised. We had a problem with one of the heaters but the caretaker very efficiently brought us a replacement within a very short time. Apart from the noise from upstairs we could not fault this let. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment, but future renters might consider using earplugs at night!

Everything we needed and the owners information was helpful and very accurate. Lovely local places to eat and we hope to come back soon.

Beautiful apartment, very clean & well presented.

Also very well stocked with appliances, kitchen equipment etc. Great location on the coastal path & amazing view from the living room/master bedroom. The only thing we found was that the walls & ceiling were quite thin, so we could hear people to the side & above, which was quite loud at times.

Was a little disappointed not to have had a welcome hamper on our arrival ,

This was my second visit to Spindrift and it seemed better than ever (if that is at all possible).

Communication with the owner was excellent. So enjoyable to sit in bed drinking the morning cuppa looking at the sea ! Then in the evening sit in the lounge watching the sunset over the sea and the Newquay headland. Recommend.

The apartment was superb, everything you could wish for in a holiday home, very clean, warm, cosy and comfortable.

Ideally located to venture further afield, most places within an hour of the apartment, and great views from the lounge and front bedroom windows, great beaches across the road, and great walking over the road on the coastal path, must be fantastic on a summers day, which we hope to find out soon. The apartment is a credit to the owner, Donna, we have stayed in numerous places in Cornwall and Devon, but this has to be the best so far, and you can take your dog ! Highly recommended.
