“This is a great cottage in a really lovely small town.”

You are a very short walk from the centre. We drank coffee in Mess Hall, ate at the Globe Inn (excellent food) and bought pasties from a great place just down the road. Plus there’s a fantastic ice cream shop nearby and a Co-op for essentials. The river is close to the cottage for beautiful walks. The cottage itself has spacious parking and is very comfortable. It has everything you need. Nice bathroom with good shower. Very helpful host. It’s also good value I think. Only downside is the slightly weird entry to the garden from the upstairs - I was a bit worried my dog would fall - although she is possibly not that stupid! Plus sadly it gets very little sun. Summer duvet would have been welcome rather than the very thick winter one, but overall would 100% recommend!

“A lovely cottage and well equipped.”

Not sure if we were the first people in for the new year but the cottage was very cold and it took a while to warm up so it would have been nice if there was a trickle of heat there when we arrived. Perhaps a little more info on some aspects such as what goes into each waste bin as we were unsure. The kitchen floor was a bit sticky near the cooker and the front garden was in need of weeding. This is trying to be helpful, overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend it to others. Lovely comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom, the cottage was comfortable and in a quiet position, plus a very nice welcome pack.

“I am in love with this beautiful cosy cottage, it is well equipped and really felt like home from home!”

We booked this cottage as we were attending my Grans 90th birthday celebrations in Lostwithiel and it was perfect for 2 adults and our dog. The cottage itself is extremely clean and comfortable and a lovely hamper was left out for us. Tanya the owner is also very lovely and helpful. The location in Lostwithiel is perfect by the river and all the towns amenities, it’s also the perfect starting place for the circular Mill Town walk. We cannot wait to book this cottage again

“A cosy, well equipped and comfortable cottage, ideal for a couple and pet dog, located in a historic and friendly small town, ideally located for local walking, nearby beaches and many Cornish places of interest.”

The cottage is close to a well provisioned local supermarket, artisan shops and several good pubs. We had a lovely untroubled week and would have no hesitation in rebooking.

“Lovely cosy cottage with everything we needed.”

Spacious bathroom and comfy bed. Good to have parking just outside the cottage too. A very nice hamper was left for us by the owner plus milk; treats for the dog and dog bowls provided. All was very much appreciated.

“This is a very comfortable little cottage for two (with small dog), handily located in Lostwithiel for shops, pubs and riverside walks.”

The owners thoughtfully left a milk, tea and coffee and a hamper for us on arrival. It’s a well kept and equipped house which I would certainly recommend.

“We really enjoyed our stay at 15 The Moors.”

The cottage has been tastefully decorated which makes it feel like a home from home. The pretty garden is a joy to sit in after a busy day sightseeing.( although due to the steps, access to it could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues) It is a good base to explore Cornwall from with lovely beaches only a short drive away. The welcome hamper on arrival was a great touch. We would love to return one day.

“We had a fantastic holiday staying at 15 The Moors Lostwithiel.”

The cottage was extremely clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location was perfect as we were using the train as well as the shops, pubs and restaurants in this lovely town. It was so quiet and dark at night that we slept like logs! The little garden was a bonus although we didn't have the best of weather to make good use of it. Love this town, loved the cottage, may well book again. Thank you so much!

“My wife and I had a great time at this lovely cottage.”

We have stayed in quite a few different cottages in the past, and this one must rank as one of the best equipped we have come across, especially the kitchen. The cottage was also extremely clean and well presented. The only downside was we found the dining chairs too uncomfortable to use, but maybe that's just us. The welcome pack was a really nice touch from Tanya, who could not have been more helpful. Thanks once again for a lovely stay. Best wishes, Geoff and Jan.

“Overall, the property was quite excellently presented, it was clean, warm and welcoming when we arrived.”

The hamper of goodies was particularly interesting, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was neat and inviting. Tanya was most welcoming in her texts, and made sure we were settled in and was able to offer advice via text when we needed help. Without wishing to complain, we both are pensioners and found the sofas in the living room far too low and without adequate back support, but I think that is an 'us' problem more than a 'you' problem. My laptop was unable to link to the hub, although our iPads and phones linked ok. For some reason we could only watch you tube on the tv in the lounge, and could not get anything to link and work on the bedroom tv. I am computer literate and can manage most modern technology, so I am not sure what the issue was. I would like to repeat that we had a fabulous time staying at 15 The Moors, and would like to return in the future. Five stars, recommended.

A delightfully peaceful country town, nestling in the Fowey river valley amid the woods and fields that characterise the area. Renowned as a centre for the antiques trade, there are several shops and dealers in the town, as well as a fine collection of country pubs, restaurants and a thriving farmer’s market. Lanhydrock House (NT) and gardens is just 3 miles away, while the fabulous Boconnoc House, Eden Project, shipwreck museum and tall ships harbour at Charlestown, and the picturesque fishing villages of Mevagissey, Fowey and Padstow, with the famous Rick Stein restaurants, are all within easy driving distance. The tumbling Atlantic surf, long sandy beaches and dramatic coastline of the north coast, including at the renowned Newquay, make for great days out and there is also chance to enjoy river canoeing, biking, hiking and leisurely walks in this lovely area. The friendly locals also have ongoing activities, such as the raft race, the famous tug of war, Carnival week and seagull outboard motor races.
