“Another wonderful week at Bluebell Retreat, the apartment is absolutley first class, comfortable and very well equiped.”

The cream tea is a welcome treat to start a fantastic week in Cornwall. Lostwithiel is perfectly located to explore the joys of Cornwall especially by train, the station is only a few minutes walk from the apartment. We have visited Corwall every year for the past 20 years and Bluebell Retreat is by far the best accommodation we have stayed in. Looking forward to anoth visit later in the year. Thank you so much for your feedback, we are so pleased you like the Cornish cream tea, thank you also for your very kind words about the apartment, Lorraine and I try to ensure our guests feel at home when they visit and are as comfortable as possible. When we visit we only ever use the train as it is often so much cheaper than parking and so handy only a short walk away, often we go by train to st Austell and then catch a bus to where we want to go. As a returning guest we would like to offer you a discount on your next visit, if you email me before you book I will arrange for you. Once again thank you. About the location

LOSTWITHIEL

Bodmin 5.5 miles; Fowey 7 miles.

A delightfully peaceful country town, nestling in the Fowey river valley amid the woods and fields that characterise the area. Renowned as a centre for the antiques trade, there are several shops and dealers in the town, as well as a fine collection of country pubs, restaurants and a thriving farmer’s market. Lanhydrock House (NT) and gardens is just 3 miles away, while the fabulous Boconnoc House, Eden Project, shipwreck museum and tall ships harbour at Charlestown, and the picturesque fishing villages of Mevagissey, Fowey and Padstow, with the famous Rick Stein restaurants, are all within easy driving distance. The tumbling Atlantic surf, long sandy beaches and dramatic coastline of the north coast, including at the renowned Newquay, make for great days out and there is also chance to enjoy river canoeing, biking, hiking and leisurely walks in this lovely area. The friendly locals also have ongoing activities, such as the raft race, the famous tug of war, Carnival week and seagull outboard motor races. The river Fowey runs from the town on its 8 mile journey through the fields and wooded valleys to the gentler southern coast, a natural paradise for those who love the sea. Centrally placed, with much to do and see in the immediate area, Lostwithiel is the perfect choice for those seeking a break away from the hectic pace of the tourist resorts.
