Coach House Cottage

The cottage was basic but had everything you would need for your stay.

Quiet surroundings for a restful country break. Lovely to see the barn swallows nesting in the porch but the downside was that they attracted flies. Overall, our holiday was memorable in a lovely part of the country.

A perfect secluded getaway.

So tranquil and calm. Hosts were absolutely lovely. A quick drive to beautiful duckpool or you can venture a little further into Bude for sandy beach of Summerleaze. Already planning our next visit

When we arrived there was no one there to meet us.

All rooms smelt of damp, the bed sheet was damp.

Lovely cosy cottage, second visit just the same peaceful comfy hideaway.

The cottage is refurbished with nice sofa, clean and comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen and shower.

The windows have been replaced so the cottage is warm with adequate radiators in every room. On entry we noticed a smell overlaid with air freshener, which got worse overnight in the kitchen. The owner disputed that this was an issue, but offered alternative accommodation for part of our stay. We decided to leave after 2 nights and obtained a hotel room. Sykes intervened and obtained compensation for the disruption.

Lovely little cottage ideal place for peace and quiet close to sea loads of walks

The cottage was tired,Sofa was very uncomfortable, Windows were rotting,Only one plug socket behind sofa lacking plugs and only one light switch at the other end of the room so if you got up out of bedroom you had to walk in dark to to switch lights on.

There was air blowing in through the windows when closed,When we finished our stay the hoover didn’t work. Old and tired needs an upgraded make over,Despite that we had a good stay. Last no pets allowed but annoying they have a cat which insists in coming in to your cottage ok if you like cats but not all people do. In a good location for days out

We had a lovely quiet and peaceful 5 days at the Coach House.

The farmer and his wife were very friendly and helpful, and Tommy the cat was very cute.

We had a lovely, peaceful break at the Coach House near Bude.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable, with good parking and facilities set in beautiful surroundings close to Bude for the supermarkets, shopping and restaurants and other seaside resorts along the North Cornwall & Devon coast within a reasonable driving distance The owners were friendly and helpful, and it was overall a very pleasant stay.

Whilst the cottage was generally okay we were welcomed by a lot of flies inside the property due to two birds nests in the porch.

if you left the door open for even a few minutes you had to contend with trying to get rid of them which meant you had to run in and out of the door quickly. The flies also made it difficult to cook anything as you could not leave any food unattended etc. Whilst we do tend to generally eat out when on holiday we do also like to cook a little, however this issue meant that we couldnt. The doors also did not latch apart from the bathroom one, which overall did not help with keeping the flies at bay. We have no issues with bird nests but they were very present over head in the porch and wouldn't be everyone's preference! Overall the property was quite tired and needed updating the roof was leaking and the kitchen window needed to be shut by pushing it from the outside.

The cottage was comfortable, well equipped, and in a quiet location but close to Bude and other attractions.

Cottage very cosy clean and suited our needs for a week visiting family close by in Bude which took us about 15 mins to get to. Nice little welcome with biscuits tea bags and milk in fridge.

The cottage was lovely and clean, comfortable furniture and fully equipped kitchen.

The location was perfect quiet and rural, with some interesting routes to follow. A really great setting for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Would love to stay again when we visit next time. The adorable little cat was a bonus.

This is the second time we have stayed here and both my wife and I love both the place The property is maintained to a high standard and we are looking forward to spending more time there in the future

No hot water in shower

A wonderful idyllic cottage set into the countryside of Cornwall, close to a town and plenty of wonderful beaches and walks not far.

The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. It was the perfect place for a long break with my wife. Very happy with our stay will definitely recommend and would return again in the future.

Cosy cottage,provided all we needed for our week’s stay.

The downside to it is the cottage is in the middle of nowhere,so driving is essential to go anywhere. Lovely garden and orchard and for people with children a safe play area.

This is a lovely cottage its well stocked and the owners are very approachable and helpful its on a farm so tneres plenty of countryside around you would definately return for another holiday

Great little cottage, really well located for accessing North Cornwall and South Devon.

The cottage itself is one of a few (8, I think), grouped around a working farm, but there was plenty of parking and the property felt private and cosy. There is a well equipped kitchen and the whole place was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.

The Coach House is a small, compact cottage with all essential equipment for a couple.

Good location for visiting local attractions - as long as you like long, narrow, winding roads

Very quiet location but close to Bude and the beautiful coast. Loved Duckpool beach.

My wife and I had a fantastic holiday and will be coming back next year we loved the peace and quiet of the location .

We found the property was clean and tidy, the only complaint we had was the location.

We did n6t think it was as far from the main road as it was,apart from that we had a good holiday.

We had the best time ever thanks to the hard work of the owners.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits supplied for when we arrived after a long journey. With informative notes left to help quests find local areas and about the lovely farm we stayed at. We would highly recommend and hope to return. Ian and Jayne Boulton.

Enjoyable stay.

Everything nice and clean, generally all the things we needed were there, but nothing we didn't need. The shower was a bit weak and could be beefed up. The kitchen needs a new bottle opener, the old one is worn and doesn't open bottles very well. Beware of the swallows ! It was great having a nest just outside the door, but we couldn't leave the door open as the swallows came into the house. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Lovely getaway for 2.

Apartment very clean and good facilities. For longer stay note there is no clothes washing facilities. Owners lovely.

Coach House Cottage is a charming cottage, spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you need to have a comfortable stay.

I had a very warm welcome from Mr and Mrs Hobbs that set the tone for a happy holiday. Highly recommended all round.

Fabulous property with great facilities.

Clean fresh feel inside and despite the poor weather we had a fantastic time. Our only "complaint" would be the TV location which we discussed with the owner (clearly not for the first time as he raised it) a little too high for viewing comfort. Otherwise a perfect holiday property which gave us the perfect base to explore from

We would go back tomorrow if the television was lowered to a viewable level.

Lovely cottage location, friendly owners.

Extensive grounds with pools, good for walks. Lots of lovely beaches within easy reach. Just a couple of comments about the accommodation: not very private as the main living area is overlooked, the "private patio" is also not private and difficult to ventilate the cottage and keep it cool. Also poor storage and no wardrobe. Some modifications needed!

We loved our cottage it had every thing we needed and spotlesly clean ,there was fresh milk in the fridge and complimentary tea ,coffee ,and biscuits, and fresh flowers which added an extra touch,also the bed was so comfortable I had the best sleep,the owners were very friendly and made sure we were okay,if you like the peace and quiet Iwould highly recommend this cottage ,we had a lovely holiday .

A lovely peaceful place to stay.

Off the beaten track yet only minutes to the main road and 5 miles to Bude where you’ll find all the usual Cornish edible treats. The grounds are nice to stroll round and there are plenty of sitting areas. The WiFi signal was much better than we had anticipated. Comfortable bed and lots of lovely hot water.

We spent a week at the Coach House, and were very pleased with all aspects of our stay.

The cottage had all of the facilities that we required for our stay, and is in a very quiet location. The owners are very friendly, and spoke with us on arrival to ensure all was well, which it was, there was even some milk in the fridge to make a drink on arrival. We are quite regular 'out of season' visitors to Cornwall, and would stay here again without hesitation. We would like to wish the owners every success with their business, in what must have been a very difficult time. Anne and Steve Matthews

Coach House cottage was a lovely place to stay.

The post code took us right to the cottage. The cottage was warm and if we needed extra heat there was a elec fire, or ask the hosts to change the heating times. Kitchen was well equipped, loved the biscuits thay was left of us. Lots of great walks from the cottage, 2 miles to Duck pool bay and Bude just down the road. No problem to park near the cottage. It was a great place to to stay for Christmas.

very enjoyable holiday lovely and quiet some very unspoilt places to visit nearby very good fish&chip shop in kirkhampton ( next village) mr &mrs hobbs lovely people made you feel at home thankyou.

Warm and cosy cottage with unlimited hot water.

Ideal for evenings recovering from walking on the coast path. Help and advice available from our friendly hosts on the doorstep. All roads leading to Lee Barton Farm are very narrow. Very typical of the area but a bit daunting for visitors.

It was a lovely small cottage but a few tweaks would make it better,had to get out in the night and go to kitchen for water,had to find my way in the dark as the living room lights were by the front door none by the bedroom door,there was no radiator in the nice size bathroom so cold when you had a morning shower and no where to dry your towels,the bedroom was a good size but a wardrobe instead of an otterman would of been useful,there was only and old fashioned victorian hat stand,over the years we have found this a lot so we now take a fold-up clothes rail with us,the radiators (one in the sitting room and one in the bedroom went off at 10am and didn't come back on until after 4pm,this time of the year it wasn't enough (Oct),if you wanted to stay in for the day to relax you would've been cold through the day,all in all the interier really could do with up dating, (windows etc).

Hosts extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately we had a problem with a bridge being repaired out side Stibb village and this caused quite a few extra miles being driven to get where we wanted

We had a lovely time on a working farm Mr Hobbs was very helpful and checked in with us when we arrived and during the week .

Lovely and quiet and we drove around to Bude, Bideford ,Bo Castle and Hartland surrounding areas to where we was staying. Mr Hobbs, the owner kindly showed me the milking of the cows as I come from farming family and talked to me about the farm as I was interested in knowing about the area , farm etc. Would recommend and stay again.

Lovely location.

Remote but easy to get to places. Friendly owners who made us very welcome and checked a couple of times to see if we needed anything.
