Swallow Cottage

Cottage was ok we used it as a base to visit places from.

Could do with a bit of TLC i.e. internal doors have seen better days. Bed was comfortable and sofas were comfortable although there were a few dog hairs around which ended up on our clothes. Fridge was very small for a 6 berth property. Road to property was a bit scary being single track but we were in Cornwall so not that unusual. We did have a nice holiday here as the things mentioned were very small.

The property was spotlessly clean on arrival.

Lovely well kept gardens with picnic benches, children’s play area and washing line and ideal for dogs. There was only two of us so it was perfect and we had some amazing walks and swims all within easy reach. We felt that it might be a bit of a struggle with the kitchen area and fridge on the small side if catering for 6 (bigger people). We would highly recommend The Bush Inn and the Farmers Arms for food. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy North Devon and Cornwall.

The Owners were friendly and welcoming and lovely surprise with the tea, milk and biscuits for humans and dog.

Swallow cottage was clean and comfortable for our weeks stay. Not too far away by car to shops. Lovely communal gardens and the surroundings and views were amazing. It is close to the lovely town of Bude a 12 minute drive. The cottage had myself, partner and large dog. We had a lovely week.

A lovely place to stay, nice and quiet and good base to explore the area.

Swallow cottage is a well maintained, very comfortable, spacious and bright property.

The owners left a welcome pack of Cornish biscuits, a jug of milk and tea bags, which was most appreciated. We took full advantage of the beautiful bluebell wood walk and the monks' ponds, taking our dog there most day. The owner's were friendly and on hand to give advice or help at all times.

Well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed (only used the double bedroom as we were just a couple)! Very clean and tidy property and friendly owners on site.

A great cottage with all you need for a comfortable stay.

Great location for exploring the coast line. We didn’t attempt the walk to Duckpool beach this time but did drive down and can recommend climbing the cliffs for a beautiful sunset! Lots of bonuses about the cottage including washing facilities and washing lines, the utility area and additional toilet, plenty of room for myself and 4 teenagers. Can certainly recommend a visit to swallow cottage. One thing I might suggest as a minor addition would be some games, cards or puzzles for guests to enjoy on a cooler or wet evening!

Swallow cottage was lovely.

Great location to explore that part of Cornwall. Plenty of space for a family of 6. And a very well stocked kitchen which was a pleasant surprise. The garden area isn’t fully enclosed for each cottage so we didn’t tend to make use of the outdoor space during our stay, but the weather wasn’t always great anyway! Owners were welcoming and friendly. The New Inn served very nice food. A visitors book with local recommendations/suggestions from previous guests would have been nice, but the cottage information folder was useful.

Lovely cottage tucked away on a working farm.

Dog friendly which was even better. Only reason I gave it 9 out of 10 was the front door had gaps where the air could get through creating a bit of a draft otherwise would definitely recommend staying here.

Lovely rural location with lots of activities a short distance away.

The cottage was well equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely return in the future.

Lovely cottage to stay in with everything you need to have a relaxing holiday, lovely walks and views over open countryside some really nice local shops and not far from Bude, made to feel welcome on arrival and even though our last visit was 2 years ago we were still remembered, can't wait for our next visit

Clean, comfortable cottage in a lovely rural location. Would recommend this cottage to families with small children. Excellent broadband service.

Swallow cottage was a very enjoyable stay for us, 2 adults and 4 teenage children.

We stayed for a week and found that the cottage had all that we needed (another comfy seat would have been perfect but didn't particularly hinder our enjoyment). The ground are lovely and it is very peaceful. The walk to the Duck Pool is very lovely. The owners were very helpful and friendly.

Stayed in the same cottage 3 years ago.

1 more comfy seat needed as 6 person, but settee space 5. Hot water, not a big enough tank for 6 holiday makers. After doing washing up, not enough to have a bath. Water system very loud upstairs, so no pulling of flush during the night.

Very Roomy, nice location, lovely surroundings, the owners were very friendly and accommodating, the cottage had everything we needed , except for a hairdryer, which the owners kindly loaned us one.

We would love to enjoy another holiday there in the future.

Even though it was a lovely cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we felt that the bathroom needed attention especially the shower, not enough water came out of shower head.

But all in all the cottage was lovely and quiet

Lee Barton cottages is a great country venue.

Fantastic views across the landscape. You feel you away from everything else whilst still having easy access to other parts of Cornwall. Welcoming host and the experience of being on the edge of a farm. Garden area large and well kept. An interesting place to be. One very minor issue and that is the supply of hairdryer or tell us we need to bring one.

Cottage had all cooking equipment required for a family, cot and highchair were available.

Nice large shared garden area at front for crawling and playing catch with dog. Within 15 mins drive to bude, 8mins drive to beach or 40 mins walk

The cottage is situated on a farm in beautiful setting, we were pleased that we had our own outdoor space/garden that was we'll maintained.

The cottage it self was clean and well presented with everything you need. The only down side was the squeaky floorboards upstairs particularly in the twin bedroom but we soon got used to were to tread. Would definitely recommend and will return.

The farm and the cottage was situated in rural and peaceful area, yet still very close to the gorgeous beaches, coastal walks and Bude. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Would warmly recommend based on our experience.

The cottage was spacious and comfortable but I don't think the place had been cleaned to COVID-19 standards, cobwebs everywhere cutlery, crockery and glassware all had to be washed and cleaned

Mr and Mrs Hobbs this is for all your family at Lee Barton farm you have one the beautiful places I have seen it was every thing that is advertised but more we personally could not have asked for anything it was all there the cottage was very equipped with everything we needed and more but most of all it was safe comfortable and very welcoming Mr and Mrs Higgitt

Superb accommodation, peaceful surroundings and beautiful walks.

Host was friendly and very welcoming. Excellent knowledge of places to visit and restaurants. Local shop not too far away. Close to beautiful beaches and walks. We felt reassured the cottage had received a COVID prevention clean. We were very fortunate to be able to take our dog. Highly recommended for a peaceful holiday.
