Myself and my 15 year old son had the most amazing time here.

Perfect location, just a 3 minute walk to the neach and Inn on the Shore, a wonderful pub. You are 5 miles away from Looe, which is beautiful. The night skys and the moon shining on the water was just stunning. Really perfect location

Lovely apartment in a great location.

Exceedingly well equipped kitchen . Loved the balcony and comfortable furniture.

We had a lovely, relaxing break at the Bolt Hole.

The apartment is of a high standard and well maintained. All the facilities you could need - there was an afternoon tea left for us along with milk in the fridge, and treats and bowls for our dog. Owner sent us instructions on how to access the apartment and where to park. We would recommend a stay here and hope to go back.

The Bolt Hole is the perfect base for your Cornish holiday , it is very well situated,and extremely well organised, 10/10

The Bolt Hole was a brilliant stay and is a place where we would love to return to for a second stay.

Overall the Bolthole is a fantastic apartment in Downderry, home from home.

Everything you needed was present. The apartment was clean and tidy when we arrived, we left it the same way. People in and around Downderry were mostly friendly. The Inn on the Shore was a good watering hole, and the Tapas bar Bewsheas serve excellent food. We stayed for 3 weeks, unfortunately the weather during our first 2 weeks was miserable. It helped with the 3rd week being a lot better.

Quiet spot, great pub.

Well situated to explore this section of Cornwall. Apartment very well furnished, including the kitchen, allowing a great self-catering holiday. Perfect for our stay.

The lounge area would benefit from two comfortable armchairs to watch TV - the sofa backs were too low and the sofas didn't face the TV.

The other easy chairs we did not find comfortable.

This was a lovely apartment, spacious and comfortable.

Great kitchen, with plenty of space for your own food (not always available in self catering places). Plenty of storage generally. Beautiful fluffy white towels. We really appreciated the treats waiting for us! Can highly recommend The Inn on the Shore for friendly staff, wonderful views and great food. We had lovely day trips to Looe, Mount Edgcumbe country park and it's worth leaving the car at Cremyll and getting the ferry for a day in Plymouth. The reference on the website to a shop being 0.1 miles away needs to be changed as there is no shop in Downderry or Seaton. It would also have helped to know in advance which was the right key safe (it's location did make sense when you knew which apartment was number 6!) We had a wonderful, relaxing week. We don't generally return to the same place, but would definitely recommend The Bolt Hole.

Modern apartment in a quiet village just a short walk to the beach.

A fellow dog walker recommended it to us & I'm waiting to see him to thank him, it helped us to unwind & relax over the week. The apartment is quite spacious & well kitted out, the only thing I could think of was a full length mirror so I could see my complete outfit from head to toe, the big mirrors in both bathrooms are great to put your make up on or style your hair. We’d only been in & looked around quickly when we thought, ‘ Wow, we could downsize & actually live here’. No garage or garden but there is a lovely balcony which catches the sun & has beautiful sea views, the furniture is really comfortable & if we hadn’t been reading our books I’m sure a nap might have happened. The two settees inside are really comfortable too & the double bed has a firm mattress with no sagging anywhere & is a dream to sleep on, I have a scoliosis & other problems from T10 down to the coccyx so if I find it comfortable it really is. The 2 single beds are really comfortable too & the room is spacious enough to move around easily. The towels are super big & soft & the bedding is the same, the owner hasn’t stinted on anything. The whole apartment is laid out in a modern, comfortable style & is done so nicely you instantly relax. There is really no noise from the neighbours inside or out, the young children in the ‘block’ are not any problem at all. Finally, the Welcome pack is very thoughtful & probably the best we’ve ever had, Freddie, our golden retriever was very happy with his goody bag which lasted all week & he was almost as comfortable as he is at home. The only drawback, which we only thought about the day before we actually left home, was the lack of a garden, our boy does like an early morning start so my husband had to get dressed & walk him down to the beach whereas at home we just open the back door but although a bit of a shock to the system the early mornings were really quite beautiful, we had glorious weather during our week, I’m not so sure a cold, wet week would have been as good but these things need to be seen to regardless. There’s no shop but the village is thinking of opening a communal shop but Seaton, a mile along the road, has 2 or 3 shops I believe I read but no idea what they sell. There’s a pub & a tapas bar just down the road to the apartment that’s well used so if you haven’t bought any food you won’t starve! The beach is black stoney sand & pebbles so a little uncomfortable & tricky to walk on but a stroll along the beach to Seaton you have far less pebbles & a softer sand. Maybe not suitable for the children to build sandcastles but Seaton’s sand would be better I think & it also has a really pretty woodland walk opposite the beach. If you’re looking for a relaxing, comfortable break then you won’t be disappointed with the Bolt Hole

Immaculately clean, lovely fresh smell as we walked in. Welcome pack for us and our furry friend. Extremely well stocked with everything we could need. Amazing views, comfortable beds and short walk to the beach. Will definitely be visiting again.

A lovely property, well furnished and has everything you need.

Very comfortable and quiet, had everything we needed for our stay! Very close to downderry beach which has a short walk to seaton. This property was perfect to have peaceful holiday and close enough to other places to travel to if you wish to.

The Bolt Hole is in a lovely location just a few minutes walk from the beach (ideal for dog walking).

Very clean and comfortable with treats to welcome us and our dog. Seaton is a few minutes drive away with its larger expanse of beach and nature walks. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely lovely holiday, and apartment. Very spacious. Everything you could ask for. Great welcome package/goodies. Molly liked her treats too. We have stopped in many places over the years. This apartment is in our top 5. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps put a sign or name plate up, to indicate which apartment is which. Which key lock is which. Just a small thing.

Comfortable beds, clean, powerful walk in shower.

Sea view inside and on balcony. Could not hear other flat owners. 14 steps up to Flat. Very dog orientated but no evidence of them. Easy parking, stroll down to the nearby beach. In direct contact with owner as there was a problem with tv which was promptly sorted out with her. Thank you.

The apartment is first class, beautifully furnished, yet with homely touches such as plants and ornaments.

The kitchen is fully equipped, with a good selection of cooking utensils, as well as crockery and glasses. We thoroughly enjoyed our comfortable stay, making the most of the balcony and views. Downderry is a beautiful little village, in an area that was new to us, so we were out and about exploring every day.We would certainly recommend the Bolt Hole for future visitors.

The Bolt Hole is a stunning, spacious, modern apartment with a beautiful view of the sea from the balcony.

The apartment has everything you (and your fur baby) could possibly need and is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Downderry is a lovely peaceful village with friendly locals. It’s a very short walk to the beach for morning walkies and Seaton (with the fantastic Beach House!) is just along the beach or down the road for ice cream and pizzas. We absolutely loved our 2 weeks at the Bolt Hole. It’s a great place to come home to after busy days exploring Cornwall or after spending a relaxing day on the beach.

Beautiful well looked after spacious apartment .

Owners really have thought about everything to make your stay perfect . Very dog friendly with treats and equipment left for our boy . Lovely sunny balcony to enjoy the sea view with comfortable furniture . Very quiet / peaceful area but only a short drive from the busier town of Looe. Book it ! Definitely a 10/10 property !

Fantastic fully equipped (literally every thing thing you need!) apartment with a lovely balcony with an amazing view of the sea! Parking space for one car. Literally 1 minute walk to an amazing tapas bar, and a pub just down from there with sea views. We will definitely be going back , it felt very homely and was very quiet. Thank you!

The appartment was very clean it had everything you would need and comfortable, plus the views looking out to see we're beautiful.

Absolutely stunning apartment, beautifully styled & decorated.

Thoughtful amenities included, lovely touch with the scones, jam, cream & milk. Great sea view as advertised. Great eateries walking distance away inc the Bewsheas tapas bar ( delicious) & the Inn on the shore , both places had great food & lovely staff. Just one more thing to mention I am asthmatic & allergic to dog hair, I didn’t have a problem at all at the apartment ( which allows dogs) so just shows how clean it was. We will definitely be booking for next year.

We absolutely loved our stayed in The Bolt Hole.

The apartment was in a good spot, with a nice view and the owner had gone over and above with kitting out the apartment. The beds were lovely and comfortable. The kitchen was well kitted out with cooking trays, utensils etc. The apartment was also very quiet, we heard no noise from any of the other apartments in the block. The welcome pack of cream tea was very much appreciated! The area was really nice, with some lovely scenery. We would definitely visit again and wished we had stayed for a longer period. Thank you.

The location, facilities, cleanliness and fantastic welcome pack were ideal and provided the perfect base for our week in Cornwall.

A wonderful apartment with everything you need for an enjoyable stay.

Very clean and the cream tea,milk and doggy treats a lovely touch. The Inn on the shore very welcoming and so many dogs..definitely one of the most dog friendly places we've visited. Sadly the weather wasn't too kind so we probably didn't get to really enjoy the areas full beauty. Our dog was poorly a couple of days,bodmin pets at home got us straight in and all was well. No criticism at all,just be aware that the shop wasn't open when we were there(could be seasonal) so make sure you have all you might need as it's a bit of a trip to the nearest store.

Lovely accommodation and views.

Everything you need us there and the snacks for the dog and the cream tea and milk were a lovely touch. Randomly there was food left in the oven which is a first for us but I guess these things happen sometimes. Would definitely stay again.

Parking on site is a great plus in Cornwall. Located on the coast between Looe and Plymouth with lots of places to visit nearby and a beach at the bottom of the road. Dog friendly. Highly recommended.

The property was in a great location, with easy access to the beach.

The apt was decorated to a High standard and also dressed for Christmas, which was a nice touch. We have every intention of booking again in the future

The Bolt Hole has to be one of the best for the thoughtfulness and attention to detail for a holiday accommodation, the quality from furniture to bedding,kitchen equipment to thinking about the 4 legged holiday guest was brilliant,and what a view from the sitting room and balcony,which also has great comfy furniture ,it is in a lovely village with 2 very nice pubs and a well stocked shop,we loved it so much we booked again as soon as we left ,Thank You to the owners for sharing

Stunning apartment in a beautiful seaside village.

The far reaching sea views are gorgeous and sitting on the balcony each morning and evening was a real treat. This apartment is one of the best we have ever stayed in. Extremely clean and very well equipped. Beds and furniture all very comfortable. A real gem of a place in this part of Cornwall. We will be back.

The property is perfect for a family that wants a quiet holiday in a village location .

The place has everithing you need plus amazing view from balcony . Its also not far from tourist attractions like Eden Project , Looe ,plymouth etc . Our beloved pooch loved his daily walks by the beach every morning . We had a lovely time .

The property is perfectly placed I'm a quiet village overlooking the sea.

The property itself is well equipped, and the host has thought of everything that guests might need or want. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the place is cosy and modern. It was my first trip to Cornwall and I thoroughly enjoyed it, as did Maddie the sausage dog and the in-laws. Would reconnect to anyone.

The apartment is beautifully appointed and equipped with the additional benefit of far reaching sea views.

It was so sheltered that we were able to sit on the balcony on several occasions in February. My first holiday rental where we had very comfortable beds and sofas, so welcome after long walks! We had one random equipment failure but the friendly owner was on the case to rectify it immediately, plenty of communication, excellent electricians and many unnecessary apologies, these things happen as every home owner knows. Nice welcome pack for us and the dog. Thoroughly recommend The Bolt Hole.

The property was warm and cosy , with great sea views so was perfect for a winter break.

Every detail has been thought of by the owners including a welcome cream tea and treats for the dog! Crisp white bed linen, power showers and fluffy towels , just like you might find in a boutique hotel. The kitchen is very well equipped and includes large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The extractor fan wasn't great at getting did of cooking smells so maybe the filters need changing? We had a fantastic week and have already recommended The Bolt Hole to friends and family.

The Bolt Hole is everything you could wish for and more!

Wonderful sea views, doggy friendly, super clean, luxurious decor, comfy beds and a well thought out lovely welcome pack. I highly recommend this apartment, we went Oct 21 and loved every minute of it, we were sad to leave!

The Bolt hole was a real home from home.

It was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. The Bolt hole was immaculately clean and very welcoming, a cream tea waiting for us and extras for our dog. It was perfectly positioned, with pubs and restaurants a few minutes walk away. The beach was so close and everyone was very friendly to us and our dog. A perfect place to stay while exploring Cornwall. We would highly recommend and will definitely return.

The Bolt Hole was an amazing place to stay if you want to chill, there are a couple of places to eat but generally not much more unless you don't mind a walk or a drive, but the place is absolutely amazing and so modern and clean.

Will definitely recommend and use again.

The beach is literally 2 min walk down the hill which is perfect for families. The owners even provided dog food and water bowls which was amazing and a lovely thought.
