Curlews Cottage

Of the many properties we have rented in Looe over many decades, Curlews is amongst the most impressively presented.

We had a really lovely week at the cottage. It was clean and well laid out and all foreseeable amenities were provided - even to having folding chairs and a cool bag, with freezer blocks to take to the beach! From start to finish, the owner was so helpful and quick to respond to any communications. If I had to pick one criticism, I would have liked a hanger somewhere for the two key sets - with 4 adults and a toddler it was easy to lose sight of them amongst our holiday clutter :-))

Curlews is a perfect cottage to base yourself in Looe.

It was great to wander into town ( 1 minute amble! ) seat and eat a croissant, have a coffee and watch people and the river. A bonus was watching filming of “ Beyond Paradise” over on the West Quay! Ate well in Looe but Curlews cottage was great. Warm and cosy and spotless. Will definitely rebook for next year.

Curlews is a lovely character cottage in the heart of Looe.

It's location is perfect on a quieter pedestrianised street central to all amenities. The car park is a real bonus, only a couple of minutes walk which given the location of the cottage is excellent. The cottage is well equipped and very nicely decorated, well maintained and presented. The owner is very helpful and our deposit was returned promptly.

Curlews is a lovely quaint cottage.

The location is perfect for the beach (less than 5 minute walk) and is right by all shops and eating places. The cottage was immaculately clean and tidy on arrrival. It was well-equipped with everything you need for your stay - down to the last detail. Tastefully decorated in a holiday theme with some quirky touches. Very nice property

We had a great holiday at this lovely well equipped cottage.

Its perfectly placed in the centre of Looe and just a short walk from everything you need, including great restaurants, shops, pubs, car parks and even the beach. We would definitely recommend it.

The cottage was in a great position for getting into looe and had everything that you could possibly want to make the stay hassle free.

Great location with only a 2 minute walk to one of two Co-op's and all the other shops. Beds were extremely comfortable and every where was spotlessly clean. I would definitely book again when visiting Looe

Really well equipped, comfy cottage right in the heart of beautiful East Looe and minutes from everything you need, couldn’t ask for more. Owner is also extremely accommodating with excellent communication at all times.

Julie(The Owner) was very easy to communicate with and left really great instructions on where to park and accessing the property. It was really thoughtful to leave milk, coffee, tea the biscuits were a hit with children aswell. The cottage was decorated beautiful and cupboards well stocked for self catering. The property was clean and beds comfy. There was lots of info provided on places to eat. A lovely break and would stay again

The attention to detail that Julie puts into the property was amazing, from board games to beach kit, wind breakers, towels for soggy dogs by the door, milk in the fridge with biscuits so you can have a cuppa on arrival.

Very close car parking space, Internet spot on, TV and Amazon prime films to watch. Rooms were well thought out with everything you need. Beds were really comfortable with a nice sized shared family bathroom. Stairs are windy but there are plenty of things to grab hold of to help you up and down which might be reassuring for older folk who are looking. Very good communication from the owner Julie. Overall we all had an amazing stay in a beautiful cottage in our favourite Cornish location.

There was everything we needed and more. Very pretty cottage decorated thoughtfully. Ideal location too. Thank you for shortbread biscuits and tea and milk etc. What more could you ask for. Thank you.

A really lovely cottage in a great location.

Very clean and had everything you could need. Bedrooms are all a good size and the beds very comfortable, bathroom is lovely too. The owner was extremely helpful and returned the good housekeeping bond very quickly. Will definitely be heading back for another stay.

The cottage was spotlessly clean. It was warm and cosy and so comfortable. There was everything in the cottage we needed. It was perfect for a relaxing break.

Beautiful cottage, already booked ready for next year!

Loved the special touches, such as fresh milk and cornish biscuits! The children's room is brilliant! The attention to detail for things that people staying there may need is fantastic, such as beach items, trolley for luggage etc.

Just got back from our stay at Curlews Cottage which is cosy and well appointed, perfectly located for both the harbour to the rear and the shops and restaurants turning left as you step out with parking close by which was a bonus.

Plenty of places to eat out, we enjoyed the Sunday carvery at the Smugglers Cott just 1 minute from Curlews, very good food but note they do not allow four legged friends and you need to book in advance as popular. Also just a stroll from the cottage is The Lookout where we enjoyed a good breakfast, same thing do book even in off-peak as they get busy. All in all an enjoyable break away, would recommend.

Lovely property, not been in too many rental before and did not expect to have to buy more toilet rolls and washing up liquid, but that was OK.

They have done really well to squeeze everything into a relatively small space, I am glad the weather was good and we didn't need to all sit in the property for long / all evening as the space was very limiting for 6 of us and the dog.

We had a wonderful holiday and wished we could have stayed longer! The proximity of the parking space was very convenient. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Looe as it is so close to everything and is a comfortable and relaxing home from home.

Lovely house, lovely stay.

We even had teabags, biscuits and milk on arrival which is a lovely touch after a very long journey. Only feedback would be that a baby gate for the top floor stairs (outside children’s bedroom) would be ideal. I was very uneasy worried that they may tumble down them if they awoke before us.

Location is absolutely perfect, only a minute walk from the beach and 30 seconds from shops and restaurants.

Looe is really lovely.

Curlews is in a central position in the town with parking as a bonus. A few steps to the quay, beach and town. Some noise late evening and early morning. We found the cottage comfortable and nicely furnished and equipped.

Perfect cottage in the perfect location, in fact every cottage we’ve booked through Sykes Cottages as always more than exceeded our expectations.

Fantastic location beside fishing harbour, beach less then 5 minutes walk plenty of restaurants and bistros available.

Overwhelming accommodation we didn’t need to take half the stuff we did as it was already in the cottage available!!! Complete with little touches like welcoming gifts such as coffee, milk, biscuits! Fantastic service from start to finish!

It's in a really good location right in the heart of East Looe.

The cottage was beautiful and as described.

The washing machine and tumble dryer were a godsend with 3 children and wet weather! The duvets and pillows were all duck and down, and the heating was efficient (we had snow so it was needed!) Would love to be welcomed back later in the year.
